There's nothing hard to grasp about that, even I, yes me, would think it would be stupid for Mayweather to go up in weight where he doesn't belong. Just like I think it would be stupid for Martinez to do the same.

Stick a fork in him, Dawson is done for.

So that's who everyone thinks is some sort of world beater? Lara really isn't all that special. So far in his "big" fights, he lost to Paul Williams, drew with Molina, drew with Martirosyan, struggled big time, got dropped twice and needed to thumb Angulo's eye to win. Canelo would whip his ass bad.

Gamboa is boring as sin. Good grief that fight was a stinker.

Maidana brought out the fireworks as usual. That was a nice scrap.

Agreed about Dawson. You are wrong about Lara. Saw the Paul Williams fight and he got robbed plain and simple. Saw the fight Saturday and there was no thumb to the eye. He was tagging Angulo all night with precision. Those were nice solid shots and it was only a matter of time. Plus they were no thumb gloves making it darn near impossible. I watched the clips over and over again and there was no thumb whatsoever.

Then what was it? Because he didn't break Angulo's orbital bone.

Still, thumb or no thumb, if Lara was this invincible guy that everyone is trying to avoid then he should've easily dispatched Angulo. Instead he struggled with him, got dropped twice and was on the verge of getting TKO'd. Just like his other "big" fights, he just doesn't look impressive.

Angulo is tough. He's no slouch. You can't just dominate everyone in the ring. There isn't a boxer today who could. Even Sergio was close to losing his last fight. Lara looked good despite going down twice. Angulo just has a strong chin and has one punch knock out power. Lara was hitting him with precision all night so I wasn't surprised at all that his eye would swell. Again, they wore no thumb gloves and even the announcers were saying it wasn't a thumb, though they thought it was originally, as well as I did. Watch the fight again and you won't see a thumb at any time in the fight.

I do agree about Gamboa and Maidana. Gamboa is the most boring fighter I've seen in awhile while Maidana is real. He's like a pitbull in the ring.

Chad Dawson. :csad:

Never was a fan. He comes off like he's already legendary in a lot of his interviews, and I particularly didn't like how he acted after that Hopkins debacle. He was talking as if he was doing damage, but really seemed nervous just based off Hop's reputation alone. Reminded me of the first couple rounds between Lewis & Tyson where Lennox was damn near hopping in the air in anticipation of Tyson's power.

Less than impressed with Broner tonight. He looked considerably weaker at this weight, allowed himself to get hit way too much whether the punches hurt or not & just didn't look as good against Paulie as he should have. On top of that he came off more corny than usual and disrespectful. Dude tries waaaay too hard, smh...

Agreed. I thought this fight could have been a draw because Broner did more talking than he did fighting but eh, to each his own. Would love to see him fight Keith Thurman or Khan.

***** wasn't impressive at all, but he did jump two weight divisions, he's still a poor man's Floyd Mayweather Jr Andre Berto

Mikey Garcia was damned impressive last week in koing Juanma.

GGG is scary. The only fighter I see beating him is Ward and even then its a challenge. Sergio would be 50-50 as well.

after last night i fear for sergio GGG is the real deal

Trying to get back into boxing. Can anyone tell me where to start on youtube? Any full fights.

So there's a video of Adrien Broner sitting on a toilet at a Popeyes restaurant and he flushes his crap, along with money down the drain. What a scumbag loser. He's trying too hard to be Mayweather, but just comes off as a punk. Atleast Mayweather is somewhat entertaining when playing villain. This guy is just pathetic, he really isn't all that good either, he's trying to be a poor man's Mayweather, but in reality is a poor man's Berto.

He's going to end up broke and cleaning the toilets he used to flush his money down. Bet on that.

After the Paulie fight I saw an interview (forget where) with Floyd and he said he called him and told him to be more respectful and curb it a little with the partying and club lifestyle. I do remember seeing Broner in a follow up interview where he mentions that conversation a little & basically he responds by saying he's still really young and recognizes that at some point, he'll have to straighten up. By then though, I think it'll be too late.

But I agree, he's not at all good enough to come across the way he does. I've always told you that Floyd is playing a character 90% of the time in his lead up to a fight, especially if the opponent isn't the vocal type to help sell it. In his younger years, and now he's getting back to it, he was very respectful and humble.

Broner on the other hand is just ignorant and tries to turn that "villain" role up to 100. It comes across as trying waaaaay too hard and as I said before he looked a lot worse than I expected against Paulie. For as much "love" as he says he has for Floyd, he also indirectly disrespects him by saying that he doesn't want to fight him because he wants him to retire undefeated, as if he'd be the one to give him a loss smh. He has plenty of potential but I'm afraid he won't fulfill it....

Agree with you both. Broner is a loser. He's not playing a role, he's just a jerk.

Yeah, Mayweather knows how to sell fights, his fans want to see him perform and win and his haters (like me) want to see him lose, and leading up to his fights he knows how to sell them. And he's respectful to his opponents after every fight. Broner is just an ass, look at him after the Maglinaggi fight, he won the fight (barely) get your belt and go, no need to continue being a *****e.

And yeah, Mayweather would embarrass Broner.

The shocking thing is for the first time in forever we all agree on something! :wow:

Man it's official: Berto is done without roids. :csad:

Berto has a ton of heart but he is a mediocre fighter, terrible defense. Three losses in your last four fights? Time to find another line of work.

That Figueroa fight was amazing as well!

Agreed on all costs. Ever since Berto was discovered to be on roids, dude hasn't been the same. Keith Thurman is the real deal though.

Watching it. Good fight but both of these guys would get killed against someone in the top 10 in their division.

I was watching the mollo vs szpilka first fight. Never saw it before. Good bloody brawl.

I thought you meant the Campillo fight. He was winning most of it until he got KTFO.
