The Rock. 49-0, 43 KOs. As a Heavyweight. How do you argue with that?

My top 10 favorite:
Jose Napoles
Joe Gans
Nicolino Locche
Roberto Duran
Ezzard Charles
Archie Moore
Willie Pep
Henry Armstrong
Ray Robinson
Marvin Hagler

Top 5 greatest IMO in terms of skills/ accomplishments/ competition:
Ray Robinson
Henry Armstrong
Muhammad Ali
Joe Louis
Roberto Duran

You could say SRR just based on sheer output and how he changed the game. I'm also partial to SRL because of the greats he fought and IMO, taking out his two past prime bouts he had no business fighting, he was really only beaten once. For sheer boxing ability, I go with SRL.

But the most important figure, most important man to the sport, was Ali. And the fact that he was never knocked out going against some of the biggest, strongest, toughest fighters in history (Foreman, Liston, Frazier, Norton, Holmes etc.) speaks volumes about his heart, courage and just who he was as a man. Because of that, and what he meant to the world, it's hard to go any other way, he's an idol of mine, no question...

Muhammad Ali transcended Boxing I don't think we've seen anyone other boxer get close to doing that.

I'm kinda new to this whole forum deal. So if there is a thread that is similar or about the same subject it gets moved? So if this gets moved would the poll still be valid? Because that is what I'm interested in seeing is the poll the results

Next time, take a look around. Chances are, what you want to talk about, is already being talked about.

Nah man it's still open.

Last time I checked the Other category had 1 vote.

Crawford/Gamboa!!! :wow: What a fight! Crawford got exposed though. Anyone with any kind of power would knock him out. Plus, he must have had every hood rat in his family in the front row tonight.

I thought the opposite, that Gamboa got exposed.

But it was one hell of a fight.

They both did. They can be hit. I think one of the reasons Crawford won was because of his height. But then again, maybe we are nitpicking because they were both undefeated fighters.

I give Gamboa credit for taking a fight like this after a year off but again, that says something moreso about Crawford to me than Gamboa.

Rumors are flying that we may finally get to see Mayweather vs Pacquiao. However I'm not sure what to believe right now. ESPN hasn't said a word on it so that makes me skeptical.
Here is a link talking about it and saying it is going down this Sept! I REALLY want this to be true!

I saw that! Part of me wants to believe it because both sides are being really quiet about who they are fighting next and let's be real: they really don't have anyone to fight. The only problem I have it with this is Bob Arum. I just can't see him letting this fight happen. He tends to let his fights only happen with in house fighters. But if I'm Mayweather, no way do I fight in Dubai. That's basically like giving Paq home court advantage with the large pinoy population there. But as a fan, I hope it happens.

Mayweather v Maidana 2 set to be confirmed for September 13.

I want Lara to win but no way he gets a decision. He has to knock Canelo out. One judge had Floyd and Canelo a draw, I can only imagine how they'd score it for Lara.

While I don't agree with that last judge's score, Canelo won the fight. Close, but still won it. Can't win a fight running most of the rounds. See Delahoya/Trinidad.

I had Lara winning by 2 rounds. Oh and what the heck was that corrupt judge smoking giving Alvarez it 117-111? Definitely a rematch on the cards.

According to Dela Hoya, a rematch ain't happening. He said they are moving on. I didn't see the fight. I will watch it when it comes on Showtime but everone I talked to thought Lara won but they ain't upset because they can understand how the judges would give it to Canelo because at times it seemed like Lara ran, and these are guys that know the sweet science. Their numbers are like yours, exactly by two points. It's like I said before the fight started, Lara would have to stop him because no way would he get a decision. CJ Ross ain't the only blind judge out there.

What do you guys think of Manny fighting Chris Algeiri? Better than Mayweather/Maidana 2? :whatever:

I scored it a draw. Lara did a lot of making him miss without making him pay; Canelo did a lot of nasty body work. Won't be a rematch. Looking forward to Canelo vs. Cotto for the middleweight crown, though.

Oh, and whoever put Valuev in that poll is a genius.

Rematch isn't happening. Lara screwed himself over by running, this is boxing not a marathon.

Canelo took over in the middle rounds, I had it even in the 9th and thought whoever won the last two of three wins the fight. Which was Canelo.

Cotto/Canelo should be next.

And Cotto should beat him easily, setting up (hopefully) a rematch with Mayweather, who had a much tougher time with him then he did with Maidana.

Canelo is tough, he has power, but he's just not skilled enough for that last level yet IMO...
