El oh el at anyone who purchased that B-Hop pay-per-view.

Yeah that main event was horrible!

I'm glad the DeMarco undercard fight was a better fight and WAR! I'm soo glad for DeMarco it's a huge upset and Win for him!

lmao, I was just going to say the same thing. Just caught the replay over the weekend, and that was another pathetic performance by everyone involved.

Why on earth did HBO think this deserved to be on PPV, this had Friday Night Fights or at the most Boxing After Dark written all over it.

I think it's a matter of it had to be a pay-per-view, because HBO wasn't willing to put up the money to include it as part of its World Championship Boxing series. HBO has a boxing budget and only so many available dates, and Hopkins-Dawson didn't fit into it. I'm not 100% sure on that, though.

So who else is pumped for this weekends fights?! Alfredo Angulo vs. James Kirkland on HBO and Glen Johnson vs. Lucian Bute on Showtime!

Should be good!

Angulo vs. Kirkland has been years in the making, and it promises to be brutal. I can't wait.

As for the Showtime program, I think we're all a little tired of seeing Glen Johnson get decisioned by every bright young star. I hope Bute can score the KO with a liver shot, as a stoppage is the only way he'll get any credit for the win.

Oh, and I was on Twitter this morning, and it looks like Maidana vs. Malignaggi is happening. That's a good scrap.

Mayweather will fight the biggest fight in his career in May!!!

Floyd Mayweather Jr. does not plan on taking another 16-month vacation from the boxing ring, like he did after easily outpointing Shane Mosley in May 2010.

Instead, Mayweather, who knocked out Victor Ortiz on Sept. 17, will make a relatively hasty return: May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, adviser Leonard Ellerbe told ESPN.com on Wednesday night.

Mayweather's opponent has not been determined but Ellerbe said, "We're looking to make the biggest fight possible and everyone knows what that fight is, the little fella."

Ellerbe was, of course, referring to Manny Pacquiao. The welterweight champions and the top two pound-for-pound fighters in the world have been on a collision course for years. However, negotiations have fallen apart over drug testing protocol.

Pacquiao is set to fight Juan Manuel Marquez for the third time Nov. 12 at the MGM Grand and is a heavy favorite.

"Floyd made it very clear that he wants to give the fans the biggest fights that are out there. He wants to stay active," Ellerbe said. "We're going to do everything in our power to make the biggest fight out there for the fans and we all know what the fight is."

Mayweather, a five-division champion, has fought only five times since 2007.

Ellerbe said Mayweather informed him and fellow adviser Al Haymon on Wednesday of his decision to return in May.

"We had a discussion, Floyd, me and Al," Ellerbe said. "Floyd made it very clear to us what he wanted to do. He told us he is looking to make the biggest fight that is out there and to make it in May."

Ellerbe also informed Golden Boy promoter Richard Schaefer, who does not have a contract with Mayweather but has promoted his last five bouts, of the plan.

"I'm very excited that the sport's biggest pay-per-view star is going to be back on May 5," Schaefer told ESPN.com. "We have informed the pay-per-view industry and I have the arena on hold. I'm excited to continue my relationship with Floyd and his team. It's always fun to work with Floyd."

Although May 5 is seven months away, Mayweather's fights have typically been promoted for several months in advance of the fight. The first weekend of May is traditionally a weekend for a major pay-per-view fight.

"We have to plan any time you're the biggest star in the sport," Ellerbe said. "You have to plan in advance because his fights are events. In order to maximize the exposure you want to plan as far in advance as you can to make your event as big as possible. May 5, that is the date Floyd is fighting on. We have secured May 5 at the MGM. Floyd is excited to make his return."

Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs), who turns 35 in February, reclaimed one of his old welterweight titles with his knockout of Ortiz in a fight that Golden Boy said generated 1.25 million buys and $78.44 million in domestic pay-per-view revenue. The buys tied the fight for third place all-time among non-heavyweight pay-per-views and gave Mayweather his third consecutive 1 million-plus pay-per-view fight and fourth in his last five bouts.

Although Mayweather plans to fight, he still faces several legal cases. He was acquitted last week of misdemeanor harassment charges alleging that he had threatened the lives of two security guards in the gated community in Las Vegas where he lives. But he faces a Friday trial date for a misdemeanor battery complaint alleging he poked another homeowner association security guard in the face during a different confrontation over parking tickets last November. Mayweather has pleaded not guilty.

In the most serious case, Mayweather faces four felony and four misdemeanor charges stemming from an alleged domestic dispute with his former girlfriend, who is the mother of two of his children.

I was just coming in here to check the pulse on this little nugget. I'll believe it when I see it.

Well they say Ortiz was basically a warm up to Pacquio and Mayweather was beating him pretty easily. But its difficult to gauge fighting a guy who's naturally strong and quick versus a guy who's possibly roided up and won't test to diffuse the doubters but here's hoping it happens, though I doubt it will. I actually blame Arum who seems intent on being the new Don King as he rips Paq off big time.

Mayweather's opponent has not been determined but Ellerbe said...
Ahh let me guess, it's going to be another cherry picked opponent of May's liking. :o

I don't care who and when he fights, I really don't.

I already stated a page or so back how Pacquaio will probably slide away from this fight and try to reverse the blame on Floyd, again!

IF this happens, and given Arum's history, I'm almost 100% sure it will, then I don't want to hear ANYTHING else about Floyd being "scared" or ducking this clown. Ever. Again.

Pay particular attention to how this source details precisely how Arum will finesse the drug testing to make it such that the WADA must perform it out of the country, even though they don't collect samples, and specified this already.

But this is it right here, handle Marquez and come get some. Take the test, period

I wouldn't overlook JMM.

The guy has given Pacman the toughest fights in his career. Varying from personal opinion, JMM has beaten Pacman already.

He definitely did, both times IMO, but he's been through some wars since then. He also didn't look too good at this weight, he seems much slower & weaker. I wouldn't be surprised at an early knockout tbh

Yes JMM did win both of those fights, IMHO as well but I don't see him winning now.

Agreed, I believe JMM has won both times.

The odds are against him in this bout but I'm sticking behind him until the end. At this stage of his career, I'm hoping for one last great fight.

I felt Pacquiao edged Marquez both times on the strength of those four knockdowns, and nothing irritates me more than when Marquez supporters cry robbery. That's ignorant; those fights were too damn close to be labeled robberies.

I see the third fight as being yet another coin flip between the two. I doubt the weight will play a factor, as Pacquiao is no welterweight.

So because someone believes that a guy got robbed in 2 fights, like most of the media, we are Marquez supporters?! Really dude? Really? Even Paq truly doesn't believe he won those fights, hence the 3rd fight.

Thank you! Pacman and the goddamn Philippines thought JMM won both fights.

It's not national pride or hate (because I'm a fan of Pacman too; I respect the man greatly and I revere him) but most the Boxing community thought JMM beat Pacman... twice!

Yes, you are Marquez supporters. You are supporting the idea that he won his two fights with Manny Pacquiao. Really.

Agreed Doom! That's why Paq wants this fight because he can't stop hearing about how he lost those fights and wants to prove to himself that he can beat him. Other than JMM fighting Mayweather and Paq, I have no clue who else he fought, so I'm far from a Marquez supporter as you can get. But I do know this, he beat Paq twice. :o
