Here's my choices, with pics and reasons!

Superman - Joe Manganiello - 6"5, great phsyique, perfect build and look for Superman, has decent acting ability from what I've seen of him so far, and WANTS the role.

Lois Lane - Michelle Monaghan - a very attractive down-to-earth brunette with a bit of fire in her - exactly how I picture Lois Lane.

Jor-El - Eric Bana - Now looks mature enough to pass as Kal-El's father. Has the good looks you expect from being Superman's pop, but also has the seriousness, gravitas and warmth to him that you expect from Jor-El.

Lara-Lor-Van - Lena Headey - have wanted Lena Heady for the role of Lara ever since I first saw her on TV. She has a mature beauty to her but also a regal quality which makes her manner seem perfect for the role of Jor-El's other half.

Lex Luthor - Jon Hamm - I don't see Hamm as Superman, but think he would make a perfect Lex Luthor. Just the right height and build, can carry off the serious, cold and calculating look, and has great acting ability.

Jonathan Kent - Tom Selleck - might seem an oddball choice to some of you, but I liked how Smallville made Jonathan Kent a fairly well built, fit and late 40s/early 50s farmer (rather than the old out-of-shape guys we saw in Donner's Superman and Lois & Clark, etc). Tom Selleck fits this mould well, but also carries himself in a gentle manner and could play a very wise and dignified Jonathan Kent imo. Moustache would have to go!

Martha Kent - Meryl Streep - I've thought for years that Meryl Streep would make a perfect Martha Kent. Clark's mum doesn't have to be in her 90s!

Perry White - Beau Bridges - can't quite put my finger on the exact defining quality and it might seem another oddball choice, but when I think of Perry White, Beau Bridges is one of the few actors who springs to mind that could embody the role.

Jimmy Olsen - Aaron Johnson - thought his wide-eyed wonder at some of the 'real' superheroes in Kick-Ass was a perfect emulation of how Jimmy Olsen looks up not just to the likes of Superman but also Clark Kent himself

Not gonna lie, while a few of those aren't what I've pictured, I could easily get behind every bit of casting there. Nice one, elgaz. Manganiello/Bana in particular is a fantastic Kal-El/Jor-El match-up, as I've been hoping for a younger Jor-El this time around, and they look sooo much alike, imo.

How about Ray Liotta as the head of Intergang? Whether they choose that to be Morgan Edge or Bruno Manheim, IMO he could probably pull off either one.

Sally Field, Holly Hunter, or Kathy Bates as Martha Kent (Three very different ways of approaching the role but IMO all pretty true to the source material.)
