Superman Returns The Official Comic-Con Thread!

People really don't understand that Singer has become a fan over the years just like us. I think he went to Comic Con after the release of the first X-Men movie as well.

Ratner isn't there neither is Chris Nolan yet both say they're the biggest fans and what not.(Don't mean to bash these directors by saying that)

I hope Singer reveals whats in store for the sequel. As long as we don't get Zod back i'll be happy. We've been there and done that.

Nolan is in post-production right now...I'm sure he's a busy guy.

the number one questions he needs to be asked is why does he think that a sequel at all will be in the works since the Box Office results have been terrible.

This is not true. The box office has not been great, like Spiderman, but it is far from terrible. The way things are going now it will en up somewhere between 430 and 600 million worldwide. That is NOT terrible.

it's a huge enough disappointment that it will NOT have a sequel

This is ****ing SUPERMAN... this NEEDED to be in the 300 million dollar area

lol, fan boys

and i liked the film quite a lot, i just think the quick Returns story i wrote in an earlier thread was much better than the story that came into film... if you read it you'd agree yourself.

"Lol, fanboys"?

Please, focus on whats written, not who's writing it.

I liked the movie, though the story was to weak. The writers dragged the movie down like they did X2. But that was not what i refered to, to think that this movie would match Spider-man wich came out short time after 9/11 and which has a greater appeal towards the female audience is to be way to optimistic. If it passes 300 (doubt that), then it would be a great number. Now it will probably end up somewhere between 200-300 million, witch is neither great nor terrible.

 :) I knew it! Sequel discussions already! I think it's gonna be Brainiac as the sequel villian, and it is about time he got his dues on screen. As for Kryptonian survivors why not persue the bottled city of Kandor storyline. That would be kick ass cool!

Let's hope he announces the return of Nuclear Man...that will surely guarantee the sequel Titanic like box office numbers.

LOL...He's going to be there again?????

I love that I live right next door to the sdcc...I go nearly every year. Singer fooled me last year with the clip. I thought it was fantastic. I'd like to hear what he has to say for himself now. I hope the sheep won't be there bahhinnng to loudly :(

Whether people like it or not Singer is going to be there to discuss tentative plans for the sequel.

Yeah...LOL....that's why I plan on being there with bells on. I sooooo want to hear what he has to say now. He sold me on his stupid ass vision last year even with my doubts. It was really the clip that did it, but still.

I would definitely like to see what he has to say about sequels.

I just hope the fanboys try to be civil...but based on the boards as of late, i'm not entirely optimistic.

Then again, its easy to talk s*** when the persons not standing right in front of you...

I live right next to it too...i already bought my ticket.

Oh don't I know it. I walked right up to Austen and smiled, though I had visions of knocking him out:) LOL...by that time all my fangurl rage will have been worked out by then and SR numbers will be official. If it's a flop....I don't think we need to worry about being civil. I'm sure Singer will be there with excuses aplenty, and of course his bahhing sheeps will save him if there is any true violence:O

Let me get this straight. People who liked the movie are merely sheep? It couldn't be that they actually liked the movie because I suppose that would be impossible, right?

Since I enjoyed the film, I would only be interested in what he had to say about a possible sequel.

He knows that there are people out there who aren't going to like it and people who are going to embrace it. It's like that with every movie, I am sure he will answer any criticism like a professional and accept the praise in the same manner.

I'm sure he will as well. However, if the INTL numbers perform in the same manner as the domestic figures...well...his professionalism is going to be needed because I'm sure there will be some questions. I plan on trying to ask one, but they limit them...but I'm sure someone will get a question in:up: That is if he shows up...if he wimps out and doesn't show. Well, guess his sheep won't be needed to protect him.

edit:

Hoopy...I'm getting mine soon.

Steel...I love SD...great city though I'm from LA originally.

I think it should fair much better internationally than it has in the US. I don't really think he's going to let a couple negative questions from fanboys scare him off. Whether the attendees are negative or positive they are still fanboys. The guy is a critically acclaimed director, I don't think he is going to let the BLACK SHEEP of the world keep him home with a thermometer in his mouth.

LOL...if he doesn't show I'm going to take a picture of his empty seat with my camera phone, and I'm going to post it:up: However, I hope the man shows. I think he should answer some of his critics...if he is as you say then he should have no fear of the Black Sheep.

I would imagine the only photo you will be able to take is of a smiling Singer answering questions on the podium. He will show to answer questions about Returns and describe a possible vision for the sequel. He won't be worried about Black Sheep asking questions like, "Why did you ruin Superman?" or "Why didn't you add a supervillian after we complained?" In turn, he won't be phased by "His Sheep" praising the fact that "Superman Returns is the greatest movie ever!"

I wouldn't worry about it.

^^you are putting a lot of faith in him showing up...only a few days unti lthe day. I guess we will find out, but I'll have my camera phone ready just in case.

Singer was in Australia at the time of Comic Con last year, but he made the considerable effort to fly across the world. So Nolan ought to be able to make the 90 minute drive from LA.

I think Bryan would show & he has no reason not to & any director that faces the fans & is willing to talk to them & answer questions negative or positive at such a big event after the Movie opens is okay in my book
