Doesn't the Darkforce dimension drive people insane, or at least really screw them up?

Darkstar may not be able to ring someone out by teleporting them away, but what about trapping them inside the Darkforce and then bringing them back when they're at the point they can't fight anymore?

I'd think that'd be the same as removing them from the playing field because you're shifting them to another dimension, thus, illegal. Then again, I never really considered Cloak absorbing someone in his cloak illegal or Nightcrawler teleporting (though he goes to another dimension) illegal.

Hmm, I have some double standards, I really should think some of this stuff through better.

I'm wondering how much this swine flu is going to be effecting the box office this summer. If I lived in New York, I'm not sure how much I'd want to sit in a theater with a bunch of strangers at a showing of Wolverine.

This swine flu is nothing to be worried about. Its the same hysteria that came with SARS and the Bird flu that we worried about not long ago. (You remember how the bird flu was supposed to wipe us out?) Yes in a country with 10,000,000 people and poor vaccines, 1,000 people got this and we get scared. Yes a few cases have popped up here in the US, but seriously, nobody should change their routine.

Although I don't believe in getting too excited about this as it hasn't become bad in Canada/US. Saying that I don't think there is anything wrong in taking precautions to avoid in becoming worse (70 people have died so far in Mexico) such as:

Washing hands more frequently.
Avoid touching surfaces like handrails and door knobs when possible.
Covering your mouth when you cough.
When you begin having flu-like symptoms, stay home.
Avoid contact with those who show signs of flu-like symptoms.
Stay away from areas like hospitals, nursing homes, clinics as much as possible.

By limiting the possibility of exposure and cutting down the chances of spreading this influenza it will quickly calm evrything down and everything will become normal once again.

Of course. I wasn't meaning that we shouldn't be careful. We should all still wash our hands and the other hygine rules we learned when we were young. I just don't think we should get all crazy with it. I also hope that anyone who thinks they might be sick, avoids going to the movies, or anywhere else for that matter.

Hmmm...interesting debate possibilities here. Like you point out, it would be silly to say that Nightcrawler or Cloak cannot use their main powers...but, if you bring someone to another dimension, because it's part of your powers. I guess it depends on how long they are gone; also, how does it happen in the comics?

To be fair I think that they should be able to use their powers on the understanding that is not the manner that the match should be decided.

ie. If Cloak sends someone to another dimension that he can't just leave them there to win the match. So that eventually that character would have to return. However considering this causes mental anguish to some characters (such as Shriek), that would have to be the manner of their strategy.

That bugs the hell out of me. It pisses me off when people come to work sick. We get sick days, stay the hell at home.

This happened to me in January. People were coming into work not feeling well, including those in my row. They get me sick. Takes a week to get over it. In the mean time, the sick people are still coming into work, spreading it around the building. So I come back...and get sick again! And it takes twice as long on antibiotics to get over it.

I just got a little over 100 comics in the mail from mycomicshop.com. Now, I just need one issue of Action Comics to have a complete set, from issue #530 - Present, I need 5 issues to complete my Deathstroke The Terminator collection, I completed my collection of Dr. Strange (2nd series from '74), I just need 2 issues of The Eternals (vol. 1), I have Fantastic Four complete from issue 199 - Present (and, I have lots before this issue...but, a lot of holes to fill, as I need 23 issues between 150-198), I just need 4 issues to complete my Gotham Central collection, I just need 1 issue of Green Arrow (vol. 1), I need 8 issues of Luke Cage, Hero For Hire (I have issues 12 through the final issue of Power Man and Iron Fist), I completed my collection of Howard The Duck Magazine (I have all the Howard The Duck comics, except the 3 movie issues), I just need 9 issues from Incredible Hulk 201 - Present, and just need 3 more issues for a complete Man-Thing (vol. 1).

I love filling in the holes in my collection, and I love on mycomicshop how inexpensive a comic can cost, especially when you are willing to drop from a NM copy to a VF copy. Like with those Hulk comics, I can sometimes see a VF copy for $1.49, while the NM copy is above $5.00. I just wish I could find inexpensive copies of the old Giant-Size comics.

The bad part of this is so many times, people never believe you are really sick. When I was a manager in retail, I would very rarely ever call in sick. It was always better to come in sick, and then be sent home early. I remember once I had the flu, called in sick one day, and then was still just as sick the following day. They told me I had to come in, and even when I could hardly stand up from the stomach pains, I heard them saying they thought I was faking it. Sadly, I learned this was more the norm than the exception.

Starting next week i'm going to be ordering my votes from most to least decisive victory IMO.

It doesnt count for anything obviously, but you could take it as a point of pride (or shame i suppose) over how well you sold me with your debates. Instead of just that you did sell me.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun. There was tons more I could have written, but I didn't want to overshadow the debates too much. It sure is the highlight of the tourny for me so far (debate wise)

Thanks! I had a lot of other ideas but as Ice said, I didn't want to take away from the actual debate. I also was afraid of making Deadpool too likable. I had thoughts of bringing in the other 2 voices in his head but thought that might make it a bit too jumbled.


And I got my votes in this week. Besides my own matches it was a fairly light debate week. Several matches of dual owned characters, 3 matches myself, and most of the rest were 3 posts or less. Easy week.
