In hindsight the "sheen" was a HUGE mistake :D

The reds were darkened (perhaps too much) but are open to "tweaking"

tried to "de-rubberise" the design a bit :D

I totally dig this suit, shield and all... But Why does he have velcro along his upper arms holding his cape out like that, it looks ridiculous...

They should update a replica of L&C's Superman costume and use the costume for the movie, the show wasn't all that great i know but Superman's costume and their Clark Kent was.

While I enjoy the fine differences between this and other versions (Reeve, Superboy), I admit that it's poorly tailored. Putting a bit more money into better fabric and construction would go a long way. At least it's red and not rust.

Another thought is the shade of red and blue. Think about it. You have two primary colors (and the third in the belt), so there's no contrast. One has to be the primary and the other a secondary. To do that, either you have a bright red and a dull or dark blue, or a dark red and a bright blue.

The Dean Cain costume is almost too loud because the red and blue fight each other for dominance. I'd go for a duller blue and a bright red.

I prefer dark blue and bright red myself.

Just playing around with a Zod concept....

In my opinion, I don't think that Zod or any Superman villain for that matter should have a cape.

My reasoning behind Zods/costume cape....

Why does Superman have a cape? Could the cape be a part of his heritage? Were capes a usual part of kryptonian dress? Perhaps so...

Giving Zod a cape (as part of his battle uniform/costume) goes part of the way toward validating Kal-Els cape

Man, that Shield is awesome:wow:

What about Bizarro and Ultraman?

Yeah, I thought that after I posted. However they are different because they are pretty mush copies of Superman. They are supposed to be similar to him.

i really hope they don't make Zod's suit all black. they should be thinking of fresh ideas for Zod's look. most of the manips and concepts for Zod keep thinking he's gonna have an all black costume.

In my opinion, I don't think that Zod or any Superman villain for that matter should have a cape.
i disagree. not only would Zod having a cape play into Superman's look being inspired by Kryptonian clothing, but it would also make Zod look more commanding. on top of that, it would set this Zod apart from Donner's Zod.

Wearing a cape just seems like more of a hero thing to me, yeah there are villains that wear capes as well. However its more cliche for the heroes to wear the cape. Also I believe Superman is given a cape because he flies, he is in the air. It flaps in the wind and its like a flag, a symbol. Yeah, Zod can fly too but not on krypton he couldn't. I think of Zod as a Soldier, someone who has seen a lot of combat. I think capes would be quite ridiculous for ground forces to wear. To me zod wears what is more practical for combat, not what is the hottest fashion on krypton. It isn't like I go into a Spider-man movie hoping "man, i really hope the human villain wears a v-neck with skinny jeans. thats the fashion of earth"

I guess I just don't see Zod picking out his outfit based upon what the latest fashion on krypton is. Just my opinion, you don't have to agree

Maybe zod can have a shoulder cape like boba fett and ezio from assassins creed have

I've always been a fan of the "sleeve-less trench coat" look... I've tried to make it work for years...

It's like a cape that wraps fully around the shoulders... I think it would look good for Zod...

Good, cause I don't...

But you and your friends can go ahead and dress in what the latest Kryptonian fashion is, I won't judge you... much

Just a quick mock up..

Took Sebastian Colombos classic suit art work, merged it with his Superman returns suit artwork, darkened the colours a tad, aded a little "sheen" to the material, added medusones amazing \S/shield design...
Not very polished just a quick mock up.. Thoughts?

Sorry about my last response to this... Too vague and too sarcastic...

THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME MANIP OUT THERE EXCEPT FOR THAT CAPE DRAPING WAY TOO RIDICULOUSLY UNNATURAL ON HIS ARMS...

Otherwise, beautiful...:yay:

Yeah, I go to the bars and bowl with my kryptonian attire. I even go water skiing with it. I never leave home without my cape.

So you are onboard with the cape? I thought you said you wanted trench coat...

The smallvillle S that his dad handed him? Because that looked WAY to deep like it was 3/4 of a inch deep

A flat S that's at most 1/8 inch on the red for some depth is best, keep in mind a deep 3 dimensional S would be pretty hard to hide under a dress shirt

Is that a symbol under your shirt or are you just happy to see me?

Love that symble is awesome. Thanks for the concept with it on a suit. Ok I know most artist on these boards hate request but... could you use a different head (I really wish that hair never existed) and bring the cape off his triceps? Please?

Head (please)

or... you could put the head and shield and your color palate on the figure :woot::woot: Please

As long as the hair is changed. He reminds me of Anton Yelchin with his hair all wild and curly like that.

I wonder how Cavill would look with his hair slicked back like Dean Cain or George Reeves. Anyone have any pics?

I think this fits the bill.
