I love the S on it though and I actually don't mind the costume

I HATE that kind of high, turtle neck collar. It screams of trying to be modern while not actually being modern at all.

Edit to say: It actually looks fine on Green Lantern but not on Superman. Wonder if i'm being hypocritical...

Funny is.. all 4 of them has similar neck collar.

And Superman has some kind of blue bracelet, or whatever.

hehe I´ve always said that the design wiil be something like that!!!!That is perfect for the film MODERN LOOk

GOODBYE TRUNKSSSSS

If there is one thing I dislike moreso than missing the trunks, it's a high collar on Superman. I hope this isn't the future of Superman.

Good God... :(

That looks absolutely terrible.

I dont want that suit in the new film, but it's far from terrible. Especially in this thread of all places.

Seriously, some of you owe Superman an actual apology. :o

Well...it's not terrible. The logo looks a bit too jagged, but it looks alright to me.

A Superman that looks about 15 years old, high collar, no trunks. Great news! :( :barf:

I'll give you the trunks, but it's not like the integrity of the character is compromised by not showing enough neck. :o

Why does everyone look so young?

That S is a piece of crap. I don't mind the collar, I would rather have the trunks still on there... but that S? Crap. Megacrap.

Also, to answer the poster who asked why everyone looks young, Dan Didio says the characters will be younger after Flashpoint. It sounds like Crisis 2.0.

I'm reading the announcement about the relaunch now and I don't what to think about all this.

Oh, the \S/ is crap, there is no reason to abandon the classic.

I'm starting to believe we going to have something similar of this new costume for Snyder's movie.

Really, makes no sense reboot and redesign the character and not use it in a big tentpole movie that will get million of viewers to help stick the new look as a franchise (comics, toys, games, books and, of course, movies).

Also, didn't Henry said something about the movie costume be a little different but ultimately recognizable?

Only if all those changes are temporarily, what doesn't look to be the case now.

Just my 2 cents.

i find it hard to believe that DC revamped their whole line because they want to change Superman's suit in a movie.

I'm actually digging the new comic suit.

It loses the red trunks ( yay! ) while still being familiar and recognizable.

granted, we haven't seen it in full view yet. But, if the movie costume is similar to this design, then I can live with it.

now, I wonder what this whole reboot thing will do to my beloved Kara..........

Of course not. And i didn't say that.

But comics and movies are all under fresh-new DC Entertainment company. Looks very plausible they work togheter on this multimedia projects and some input on visuals for the new movie.

The revamp in comics wasn't overnight decision. They are working on it for some time now.

Or maybe not. Who knows? Im just saying I wont be surprised if this happens.

They could have changed the suit because of the lawsuit?

i could see this being the reason...if they lost the case. Corporations dont change things due to a lawsuit that hasnt gone before the judge yet

maybe if GL looked like the movie GL I'd agree with you

I actually really like the S design. The rest of it I'll hold judgement until I see a better picture.

I think the S is fine. My main problem with that Superman suit design is the unecessary high collar in the neck area? Ugh.

Superman should NOT have a high collar on his suit. It gives it a way to constrictive look.

Yeah, I really dont mind the \S/ at all. It's not like they went overboard with redesigning it, it's just a few minor changes.

I see this was posted above I was just about to post it

Wonder if this is any indication on what the new movie costume will look like.

The trunks are still there... they are just blue... and now looks to have some texture from the chest down... and the forearms are going to look different too based on the new lines put there. I reserve like/dislike till full body.

The collar is unnecessary for Supes because he wears his costume under his Clark Kent (unless they took Clark away from Superman too) disguise. GL's suit comes from his ring so his is fine.

Cavill's suit could be very interesting...

He may not wear the suit underneath anymore. In a grounded approach someone could see it under hi shirt even with the old suit. He may keep it handy though for quick transformations.

It's peculiar, one of the main things I thought when Cavill was cast was how "Superman-ly" he looks with the posture etc but ESPECIALLY when (in the Tudors) he had higher collars or the neck covered to an extent because his neck wasn't very thick.
Seeing as most people including myself want a more open neck-line to show more muscle mass of the neck and bit of the shoulders, I thought he may look odd.
And I thought they might go high collar for the new Supes costume if they felt the same way.
Granted, all the working out could make his neck much larger, it did look better recently anyway.
But it's interesting seeing this comic version now, I wonder if they'll be doing something similar.
