You can always get your caps back.. by killing whoever repaired it for you. It's consistent with your character :hehe:
And then he can never get them to repair it again when he inevitably gets into more fights and it gets damaged again.

BL's rules of Fallout (rules that I play by)

1. Don't be a dick

2. Don't shoot at anyone unless they shoot first, then it's perfectly justified to kill anyone in the immediate vicinity.

3. Hate radscorpions, hate them in their stupid faces.

4. Shoot people in the legs, it's more fun that way

My rules would be similar, only #4 would be "Only shoot people in the face, preferably with VATS for that extra-tasty slo-mo headsplosion."

I try not to kill anyone if I can help it, though. Never know what sort of quests they might tie into.

I've gotten some sweet slow mo bullet camera headshots.....I needed a cigarette after (and I don't even smoke) I suggest the 'Bloody Mess' perk....it's worth it

I wasted a few perks early on when I didn't know what I was doing, so I'm usually spending my perks on important stuff now. I may get it once I've managed to bump my Agility up a little more, though. Because 95% accuracy on virtually anything I can see in VATS just isn't enough. :)

Because Corp isn't happy unless he can blow the fleas off a dogs ass at a 100 yards....

Damn straight. It's a shame there isn't more .308 ammo in the game, 'cause I'd totally be sniping everything in sight if I could.

I have too many 360 games to play right now, but reading this thread definitely makes me want to pick up Fallout 3 to try it out.

I bought some from Gustavo not long ago, but I'd sold the sniper rifle I found on a Raider by then.

Anyone else getting those '50s songs stuck in their head a lot? I listen to GNR almost all the time on the PIPBoy, and now I'm actually starting to listen to Roy Brown on Pandora at work and stuff. I mean, I liked this kind of music before, but F3 has sort of given me an "in" because now I know a handful of artists who are really good from that era.

Yeah, it was weird, I found three sniper rifles while I was playing yesterday. But now I have Lincoln's Repeater, so I don't really need them. I got the Scrounger perk and have built up a decent supply of .44 magnum rounds (around 90), so I'm good to go. The only problem now is, of course, that I've been doing a lot of quests involving robots rather than Super Mutants, so I haven't come across as many hunting rifles to repair the repeater. But, on the other hand, it degrades really slowly.

So, I realized that I'm kind of a bastard for a good guy. I was back and forth between Underworld, Fort Constantine, and Tenpenny Tower while playing "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head" last night and, through trial-and-error, I:

- stumbled onto Paradise Falls and enslaved Susan Lancaster to get in
- freed the kids and killed all the guards during my midnight escape with Rory
- got 125 caps for the first two keys and some XP from Mr. Crowley for passing a speech check to get him to tell me where Fort Constantine is
- used the Mesmetron to turn Crowley feral and kill him without incurring the wrath of the other Underworlders
- took the keys (and all the other stuff) off his body, went to Fort Constantine, and got the T-51b Power Armor for Charon
- got the reward for killing Crowley from Tenpenny

And now I'm working on the "Tenpenny Tower" quest with the aim of getting Allistair Tenpenny killed because he's an obnoxious jerk. Ah, the charmed life of a 'good guy' in the Wastes. :)

just completed the 'Reillys Rangers' quest....good stuff and once you complete it you can get paid for any map locations you find

Yep, it adds up real quick. I'm at 4300-something caps right now, largely due to that.

I havent played this in awhile, but deff think ima put it back into my 360 and get put some hard time into it.

Hey, speaking of the 360 version, question: Do you guys get dust motes and stuff on that? I'm thinking specifically of some rooms in Rivet City that you can open and they're literally filled with floating clouds of dust that hang in the air, or any of the run-down buildings like the RobCo Factory or any of the museums where you'll see little dust particles floating around as you walk around. I'm just trying to get a sense of what the PC adds on Ultra settings.

Uh oh, The Regulators are after me now. I'm such a bad guy.

Yeah, we have dust on Xbox.

see what happens when you act like a *****e with a gun?? people chase you down

The Talon mercs have been after me since I disarmed the Megaton bomb. Really, really annoying to have to fight 3 heavily armed guys--one of whom almost always has a hunting rifle and is far better with it from a distance than I was with any of my ranged weapons--about 50% of the time after you fast-travel when you're at level 4 or 5.
Yeah, we have dust on Xbox.
Okay, thanks. I gotta look up a side-by-side comparison online, I guess.

I tend to not do that because I like to grab whatever guns the people have on them. If you shoot them, they end up in worse condition (obviously).

On an unrelated note, I just watched a video of a guy shooting a Super Mutant Behemoth in the face with a mini-nuke using VATS. It was probably the greatest thing I've ever seen.

I finished the Oasis mission and am now exploring downtown DC to find any places I haven't yet. I just got the Animal Friend Perk, after having to re-build my Charisma S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Ahh, No more random dogs trying to kill me.

I am a bastard. I found some random scavenger in the tunnels of DC, I bought something from her and then shot her head off and took everything. :woot:

Is this Oasis thing part of the main quest? I'm thinking of continuing the main quest tonight, but I'm always afraid it'll progress to some point where you get locked into finishing it and then I won't be able to do anymore side quests.
