I did find a raider camp in the DC tunnels, the leader had a safe with some nice loot....it's in the Tepid Sewers area

Is this Oasis thing part of the main quest? I'm thinking of continuing the main quest tonight, but I'm always afraid it'll progress to some point where you get locked into finishing it and then I won't be able to do anymore side quests.

The point of no return is when Sarah asks you to leave the Citadel and head to the jefferson memorial. If that option comes up, make sure you have done everything you want to before agreeing to go.

Just did the "Riley's Raiders" and "Those!" missions and am up to Level 18. :woot:

I'm planning to make an extra save right at the last moment before the point of no return to have my decked out character who I can still explore with. That way when the DLC comes out I can still use him.

same hero geo....I just went through Vault 87 and freed Fawkes, he is awesome....anyone going through there, when Fawkes tells you how to free him, the other cells have Centaurs, and next to the fire control panel is a separate panel (your science skill has to be high enough) that you can use to just open his cell door....its room 05

You can individually kill these bastards in their cells.. there's one human too--don't remember the name

I freed him in my first play through, and he is pretty awesome.
I got Dogmeat my second time... I sent him to Vault 101 because I was doing an assault on the Capitol Building. I went to 101... and he wasn't there.
Who are the other companions in the game?

Jericho - you meet him in Megaton, but you have to have negative karma to get him to join up with you

Cheron - a ghoul in underworld who works for the owner of the Ninth Circle, you can either purchase his contract for 1000 caps or kill Carol, who owns the bar across the way, and he'll give you Cherons contract...

there is also a Brotherhood of Steel Knight who knew your father and asks to join you, she is in the Citadel

 Just stopped the Superhero battles at Canterbury Commons. I convinced them both to get out of dodge. What am I supposed to do with their silly costumes now? :oldrazz:

Have you guys found the other talking super mutant in the game..?

Make Nova and Lucy West wear them for you

Well I ended up with Fallout 3 and Bioshock for Christmas. Played Fallout 3 alittle bit and am loving it so far. I just booted up Bioshock and now I have to wait for this friggin' install to complete.

It's funny that everyone is calling Fawkes "him." According to the Vault (a Fallout wiki), Fawkes was a woman before turning into a Super Mutant. :)

I've never even met Sarah yet, so I guess I'm well before that point of no return. Thanks, Geo.

I'm at level 19. I spent a long time not doing any major missions and just leveling because I had to get my lockpicking skill up to 100 in order to pick a "very hard" door for the bow of Rivet City. I'm sure there's a key somewhere, but I never managed to find it and I'm kind of obsessive about getting all the optional parts for the Wasteland Survival Guide. :o

For the experts: is level 21 the higher you can get?

You could have just swam to the other bow of the ship. That's how I did that part of the survival guide, there's a door under the water.

wow this game is really violent. I wasnt expecting it to be as graphic as it is. So many decapitations and limb dismemberments just from using your weapons on people. I cant beleive Im saying this but Im finding it to be a bit much and over the top. Im surprised there hasnt bee much or any talk of it in the media, or maybe I missed it

Yeah, I didn't hear/read any whining either.. Something about drug use, but in other countries--not in the US

lol yes very.
As far as gore in games go I think it might well take the cake.

To be fair it still seems cartoony like the prev fallout games with the over the topness more likely to result in gleefull snigers as heads and limbs explode left right and centre imo than repulsion.

It did get in trouble regarding a cow. :wow:
