Is that a new non-sawed off double barrel?

I wonder if they will take your weapons and armor away like in the 1st 2 DLC. I don't even remember the last time I used "bullets" everything has been Plasma Rifle, Railgun or the Tesla Cannon.

New Achievements for Point Outlook

The Local Flavor - Quest
Walking With Spirits - Quest
A Meeting of the Minds - Quest
Bog Walker - Discover All Locations

I'm guessing 20 for each quest and 40 for the Locations.

Can anyone give me an estimate as to how long it would take to get through this game without having any of the DLC? I'd like to give it a try, but don't want to invest way too much time.

depends on how much exploring you do....anywhere between 40-80 hours

You can probably just do the main quest and bang it out in possibly 20 or so hours? You miss a lot of stuff by not exploring and doing side quests.

On second thought, don't play the game if you are just going to do the main quest. Actually take the disc put it back in the case and return it to whatever store you got it from and tell them you rather live in ignorance than enjoy the awesomeness that is this game.

Good guess. I hope there isn't a lot of locations to find.

I hope you can keep your weapons. I like going to new areas and just going ape with plasma rifles, sniper rifles, and chinese stealth armor. Also, I hope for this one, you can bring your companion with you. I want Fawkes with me, blasting people away. I really enjoyed having him with me on Broken Steel.

Anchorage is 369 MB.
Pitt is 492 MB.
Broken Steel is 620 MB.

And I just completed the Broken Steel DLC. I honestly think the last mission there was better than the last mission on the regular game.

Also, I'm 64 for 64 with 1,350 Achievements for this game. I will enjoy it until Point Lookout comes out next month.

Damn... I still need to do "Strictly Business" and get my characters to neutral levels, and then the level 30 good/evil/neutral

As long as you try for all the Achievements, you should reach Level 30. I reached it by the last mission in Death from Above.

However, I did save before Levels 8, 14, and 20 like 300 XP before. I then saved the Power of the Atom mission for those levels to finish as even if I was total Good, it would turn you Neutral if you bombed Megaton. Also, if you killed like 5 regular people and then nuked the town you'd get the Evil Achievement. Then I would just click on my previous Good alignment save and continue one with the game. After Level 20, I then "saved" the town so I could finally have a place to store all my stuff.

Also, for Level 30 you can choose the perk that moves your karma to Good, Evil or Neutral no matter what your alignment was.

If a game is made by Bethesda you're pretty much guaranteed at least 70 hours of gameplay if you enjoy it.

Some pictures from gameplanet.com This all kind of reminds me of some "Wrong Turn" stuff. Inbred mutants and what not.

I have a feeling they will be stripping you of your weapons. :o

This is a hands-on article on Point Lookout from IGN. I think the writer messed up at the end by saying "later this year" when I'm positive it comes out later this month. It's a good read. Has some minor spoilers, so reader beware.

Alaska. Pittsburgh. Adams Air Force Base. Through the three expansion packs released for Bethesda's award winning Fallout 3, players have explored vastly different experiences of the nuclear wastelands for the ex-Vault 101 dweller. But the adventure through the irradiated lands hasn't ended yet, particularly with the recent announcement of two new expansion packs that will be coming later this year. The first of these will be Point Lookout, an expansion that will house a ton of secrets for players to uncover. At E3, I managed to get some hands-on time with one mission to face off against new enemies and acquire new powerful equipment, as well as new perks and achievements.

Point Lookout takes you to an as yet unexplored area of Maryland that didn't suffer the same kind of devastation that DC went through when the bombs fell. In fact, it appears to be a rather quaint beachfront community that has fallen into disrepair. Like the previous expansion packs, you wind up discovering access to Point Lookout after receiving a radio transmission. Once you travel to the source of the transmission, you are introduced to Tobar the Ferryman. He pilots the Duchess Gambit, a boat that takes you away from the wasteland to the area of Point Lookout. While you won't be able to take any followers along with you, Point Lookout will have the distinction of allowing you to come and go as you please instead of locking you into that location for the duration of the expansion pack. Mysteriously, a new fruit is found on the Lookout, which somehow lowers the Rads that you take much better than Rad-X and Radaway. However, as you approach the splintered timbers of the dock, the derelict Ferris wheel and the looming spire of the lighthouse, you can't help but get a sense that something is radically wrong here.

In fact, that's something that Bethesda is specifically going for, attempting to create an H.P. Lovecraft vibe with the entire pack. Point Lookout is stepped in thick fog, with a number of new effects for the environment, including new water, sky and tree textures to make Point Lookout look a bit more off kilter. Even stranger, however, are the "monsters" that you'll face. The newest ones are the Hillfolk, mutated people that seem completely ripped from "The Hills Have Eyes." There were a number of these creatures that silently attacked us with different implements, such as shovels, axes and even double barreled shotguns. As rustic and simplistic as these weapons might seem, you shouldn't discount them on looks alone. These items are extremely powerful, particularly if you repair these items into better condition.

After battling through these creatures, I made my way towards a place on the hill known as the Old Calvert Mansion, which Tobar stated had some great treasure inside of it. However, as I opened the door, I noticed a ghoul named Desmond being attacked by large groups of people known as Tribals. In fact, what I discovered is that these people were in a cult, and were constantly assaulting Desmond in an attempt to gain some secret that he held within the crumbling walls of this mansion. These assaults were relentless, and groups of Tribals would break down walls, shoot through doors and constantly fling themselves at him. Fortunately, Desmond had a number of defenses, like turrets and barricades, and was systematically repelling these enemies. Choosing to help Desmond, I found myself battling through these waves, but also found myself falling through demolished floorboards and getting trapped in the bowels of the mansion.

It was rather evident, thanks to the large numbers of waves that I was constantly facing, that Point Lookout would not be an area that weaker characters will want to take on. In fact, Bethesda believes that this would be an expansion for higher level characters, and while they wouldn't tell me about all of the secrets or monsters, the large numbers of Tribals in the area, along with their swarming nature, made it seem as though they would easily overwhelm characters without a significant amount of armor and ammunition. Point Lookout will be released later this year.

Good thing I didnt wander around trying to reach level 30 long.

Quick question about Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt: do I need to finish the game before installing these? I reinstalled Fallout 3 yesterday because I got both DLC, so.. I was wondering

I just finished Broken Steel. Not as awesome as The Pitt in my opinion, but an excellent epilogue to an excellent game.

Questions...

What happens if you choose to bomb The Citadel? Anything interesting? Do you think Doctor Li made it to the Commonwealth? Or was she perhaps abducted by aliens? Maybe we'll meet up with her in Mothership Zeta!:hehe:

Also, do you guys think there will be anymore DLC for Fallout 3 after Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta?

Yeah, something special happens
If you bomb the Citadel, then the Brotherhood will turn on you and call you a traitor and try to attack you when you get back. Then they all become hostile to you when they see you. But there are some interesting stuff to steal from the Citadel ruins

I think it'd be cool to see that. If you get to the mothership and find Li getting experimented on by aliens.
