The OFFICIAL FINAL CRISIS THREAD

agreed. the character at this point has no real direction, i think didio was right about him, not quite robin nor batman...so why have him around. and from there we could've had batman go to the asylum..because he finally loses it when dick dies.

I dont know about sending him to the Asylum after Dick dies, but theres potential for a good mini-series in that (which I swore had been done before)

Nightwing's definitely got a niche. It just happens to be outside of the Bat-family. He's the kid that the entire DC universe raised to me. He's got ties to everyone, and he's kind of an amalgam of Superman and Batman. The Obsidian Age tackled it nicely. He's a perfect leader because he takes Batman's ultra-preparedness and strategizing and Superman's galvanizing leadership style and marries them together perfectly. The problem is that DC took him out of the Titans equation, cut him off from friends and family, and basically tried to remake him as this brooding, loner, Batman-Lite type of guy after IC, and that doesn't work. Nightwing, by the very nature of his character, can't be marginalized. He needs to be plugged into everything in the DC universe, as far as I'm concerned.

I dont know if he was strictly like that after IC....he was a little like that before it.

That's true. I didn't much like the last few arcs of his comic before IC, either. Especially when he went undercover as Deathstroke's henchman.

Corp your description of Dick was great, thast hwo i see him too. I wish we just saw more interaction with him and the likes of the JLA or JSA.

I like the idea of the JSA potentially using him as a teacher or a role model for the younger members that someone suggested a while ago more and more.

Well it just makes sense i could see him as a potential Cyclops for younger members. If you catch my drift.

Well maybe we should find and artist and and we can collaborate on the story togethor and sell it to DC.

You want him as a foil for Wolverine? (just kidding)

Morrison interview

Y'know what would be cool, Grant? If Mary Marvel were fighting a Supergirl that she, oh I dunno, ever had any sort of interaction with, ever. Maybe even a lasting and deep friendship with. Someone like, say, Linda. Yeah I know, it's crazy right? Something that would actually make sense to the character? Sooooo off the walls.

None of that sounds interesting. :(

Also, those things on Libra's arms and chestplate? They didn't remind me of weights used on scales, they reminded me of Prometheus.

I am interested. Morrison very rarely ever disappoints. Still, I think I would be so much more interested in the New Gods invasion if it were set up better. And by better, I mean not by Countdown, which has been the opposite of better.

I haven't been into a lot of Morrison's work lately. Nor have I enjoyed much of what's been done to the DC universe as a whole. And, really, I'm content with the comics I read right now. Final Crisis can be the first DC Crisis I don't bother with, and I don't think I'll regret it much in the long run.

Download it.

There's an idea. My only regret is that I'll be missing Jones' artwork, so if I download it and just look at his work without actually reading anything, that can't really count as stealing, can it? It's like flipping through it at the shop, only I can go to the shop whenever I want without leaving my computer.

You're just saving on gas, that's all. Grant would understand.

Yeah, gas is crazy. That could actually be justification itself, given how far the shop is from my apartment.

im already sick of this book and its not even out yet

Surprise surprise. negative nancy from the OC is sick of something.

Well, FC is pretty easy to be sick of. The whole DC universe is already being swallowed up by preparation for it.

i dunno about you, but the "crisis" thing is getting kind of old over here... i dont mind big event books but we just had a crisis... bet didio decides to "kill" another flash
