The Official Flash thread - Part 1

I agree. I don't consider Kessel's character and the later version to be the same person.

Grant Morrison is the closest thing to a good writer there is in modern corporate comics. In the 70's, he'd be the #5 Superman writer behind Maggin, Bates, Bridwell and Pasko, all of who are superior to him as Superman writers and as writers period.

Geoff Johns is not a good enough writer to have worked for DC in the 70's.

Morrison is very good I think but he's not my favourite writer. I think Greg Rucka is a better writer than Morrison personally and I definitely prefer him to Morrison overall. I've not liked everything that Morrison has ever done but I have loved everything Rucka has written :hrt:

And I think that Gail Simone, JH Williams, Paul Cornell and the current writer on Birds of Prey are all excellent comic book writers as well :hrt:

But them being uniformed makes more sense than if they were random.

I dunno, I always got the thought they were supposed to represent speed force energy or something. I like the idea of that being random.

They were made uniform so that the lighning could be toned down; see Flash: Rebirth.

I don't mind the costume right now its not perfect but its not too bad

I really love the art but I cannot for the life of me stand the stupid lines over his suit. It's just the fact that they're so uniformed and perfect looking. It would be fine if they were random.

The lines don't bother me because Manapul is a fantastic artist and finds a way to make them work.

A speedster trapped in the speed force? yeah, because Max Mercury would've have been a good character to use there.

I thought the same thing.

for whatever reason they have for ignoring Wally, surely they can't use the same reason to ignore every other speedster. The family aspect of the book is what made it so great back with Waid and Johns' first run.

They apparently just want an entirely different approach for Flash now.

And, I must say, it does work. On a different level.

Yeah, Manapul's Flash is freaking awesome. But Wally being gone still really irks me.

they should give wally his look from the key's hallucination in morrison's jla #9 i think and make him a cosmic level character

That story was fab :atp:

Connor Hawk saving the world with a boxing glove arrow ftw

Liked the new issue, interesting route they are taking with the speed force.

Wow. How'd he reform this time, since Wally's good influence obviously wasn't a factor?

Maybe he was never a criminal. Seems like they're focusing more on the gay thing than the reformed villain thing. He's got his closeted boyfriend cliché and everything.

Well, apparently he was a vigilante instead of a thief or whatever.

I think I've yet to see a non cliche gay character in comics.
