^ Not bad at all for having so little material to go with. But Christina McGee should not be in a Barry Allen flash film.

When asked about The Flash and if he would be interested in a superhero role he responded:
Well I auditioned for the The Green Lantern and didnt get it so Im reluctant to put on the cape again."
LOL No liek seriously, supervillains must be teh gritteh and realistic yah!!!Men in tights are teh seriousness!!
Sigh, why can't fanboys just accept the inherent absurdness of superhero comics and embrace that instead of trying to water down everything and keep it "grounded"?
Those aren't necessarily good examples. They're all quick cash-in movies solely created for kids who don't care about the quality of the CG. This would be a big tentpole action movie. If a purple CG teddy bear that smells like strawberries can be made into a bitter, menacing bastard of a villain (Not that it would be the same style of CG as Toy Story 3, but that's not my point.) there's hope for a Gorilla that naturally looks mean to be convincing. That's well and good, but none of that means Grodd will translate well to live action. Usually when they have talking animal characters in live action movies, they often look extremely bad looking, like the animal characters in the live action Scooby Doo movie, the Underdog movie, the Marmaduke movie, etc.

I pointed that out in my post. The point was that given the right tone, time, respect, and care anything can work. Let's wait until Green Lantern when we see a big pink hippo hanging out with Ryan Reynolds. In Toy Story 3, the whole movie was CGI, it was a cartoon, not live action. Cartoons and live action are two different beasts, what works in a cartoon doesn't always work in live action. The problem with Grodd is he wouldn't be appearing with cartoon characters, he would he appearing with real flesh and blood humans. Its harder to make Grodd look good in a live action film, then an animated one.

The shots of Oa with Hal and Tomar/Hal and Kilowog look fine. And because Grodd fits the hypothetical story they want to tell. I'd rather see them take the rest than say "OK. This would be expensive... Let's just make it a mobster or something."Frankly I have doubts that the GL movie will look good and why spend all that time and money on Grodd, when a human villain would be easier to do and less expensive?

It's hypothetical, it doesn't exist. If a story did exist that called for Grodd I'd want Grodd. Not a cheap substitute (not that there's anything wrong with the Rogues, but if they replace him with one for reasons of money technically they would be "Cheap Substitutes").What hypothetical story are you talking about? Why would Grodd fit this story better then Captain Cold, Zoom or any other human Flash rogue?

A unique and memorable film villain.I'm not sure what the pay off would be.
