I for one am SOOO excited for the fact that theeis an actual....G.I. Joe......friggin' movie coming to the silver screen and its 2009....it's unreal..feels like a dream.
HOWEVER I am so worried about this movie being a giant piece of ****

I'm even more excited for movie based figures....again, still worried that they would be ...well...little pieces of ****.
From what I have seen some of the figures look beautiful! IF...that's a BIG IF they are actually like that in the damn movie...I hate movie figures that aren't representative of their onscreen counterparts..it's just a real piss off.
From what I have seen of the vehicle assortment the figures are just repaints which really really angers me....I mean the damn company MUST have the designs for the friggin' movie. Unless they do and are aware that there are repaints and its obviously then about trying to get the most money from everyone out there i.e.--having some vehicles that aren't in the movie and then much later on having vehicles that ARE in the movie...who knows...I know that over at
www.toynewsi.com there was a audio clip of some dudes from the Joe Hasbro team saying how they are going to make characters that do not appear on screen just to make the toy line more expansive....
...BUT one of the 'suits' said that the Underground Mole type Cobra vehicle will play a big part in the film but the driver figure for said vehicle is obviously a repainted Croc Master figure.....sigh.....geezus christ that pisses me off
There is no excuse for Hasbro being lazy...I mean if this is one of their most coveted most precious sacred cash cow lines that is loved and has been loved for generations what do they do when a big budgeted tentpole summer blockbuster movie based on the property comes out? Well...repaints naturally
The Resolute figures and cartoon is what is really exciting me...the designs look awesome...LOVE the Cobra Commander, Cobra Trooper and Duke figures that have come out so far...(heck, they even tried to repaint the Resolute Duke and stick in with an old Joe mini tank and pass him off as a new character from the movie...see? SEE? That is the **** I'm talking about!)
Either way I think I may just wait to see the film this time instead of being my usual impetious self and purchasing figures I'll regret because they weren't even in the film.
Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow Duke in desert gear and General Hawk look awesome though!
