about 90 minutes, that's not even counting the "missing reel" footage that was actually filmed.

I checked out my paper today, and there was a huge ad for Grindhouse saying "See one or see them both." Some theaters are listing the two seperate film times, and some theaters are listed as the 'Double Feature'.

I'm not sure if that means that people can only see one or the other at certain theatres, or if it's just listing times the first film in the 'double feature' will be finished

I'm in the mid-south, and heard the film was doing bad in 'middle America'. For anyone on the far west/east coast, is the advertising this weekend like that with your city?

Actually - releasing Machete on DVD is a really good idea.

You have the ****heads at the MPAA who will ask to cut everything out - on DVD, Robert has complete control, and he can have as much violence, blood, guts, boobies, and violence as he wants.

Did I say boobies?

Grindhouse made $4,239,000 in its secont weekend, the domestic total $19,700,000.

So I finally saw this movie tonight... HOLY CHRIST was that awesome!!! Absolutely loved Death Proof and the adrenaline rush that made up its last half hour :)

I couldn't wait 'til June/July to see this, and 'cause we are getting extended editions I thought there's no harm done if I use the magic of Internet... And man, I'm happy I did it! Grindhouse fcking rocked! Planet Terror was a fcking kickass! After PT Death Proof was kinda disappointment. It wasn't a bad film, it just didn't live to the adrenaline pump and coolness of PT. The ending was great. A true exploitation ending. I laughed so hard for it. The trailers were kickass too. Werewolf Women of the SS weren't as good as the others but still quite nice.

Can't wait to see this/these baby/babies on the silver screen!

Its safe to say that Tarantino & Rodriguez just got their first flop. UNLESS you wanna count Four Rooms, so thats two flops. Oh well. The movie will make back its money through DVD sales/rentals.

WTF cares what it made. I am grateful and feel privileged to get to see such a phenomenal piece of cinema greatness. It can't become a cult movie if it is a blockbuster.

But if its a blockbuster they might make more or similar movies instead of rehashing action and comedy movies over and over.

Death Proof was one of the most God awful movies I've ever seen. Least likable heroines and the least sympathetic victims EVER (the second bunch). There was great tension with the car stunts but wow, worst characters ever. Except for Stunt man Mike.

Really enjoyed Planet Terror at least.

As I suspected, it tanked in it's second weekend too. Doesn't matter if the nerds and critics like a film, you need regular people to like it too. And no matter what the nerds say GrindHouse doesn't look any smarter than Wild Hogs and I'm pretty sure it isn't, considering RR seems incapable of making a good film let along a smart one. I like QT's movies but Death Proof looks weak as hell. I'll be seeing the movie on DVD...like most people; hopefully I'll like atleast one film.

Great flick! God I hate Fergie.

But her **** are good. :csad:

Yes. They WERE goooooood, despite how weird she looks in real life! :o

My favorite part of the GH experience! The Machete trailer was AWESOME, and I definitely want MORE!!

I saw it Saturday. Planet Terror was a lot of fun, and Death Proof was good, but it was slower and I'm generally less interested in cars than zombies. The fake trailers were great. I think Machete was my favorite (and the only one I can really see as a full-length movie), but Don't was hilarious too.

I've gotta say that I was preeeety disappointed with Death Proof! :( I mean, for once I was TOTALLY ruiting for the villain, and Kurt Russell ROCKS in anything...But he didn't have very many lines, and
his demise at the end?!? :cmad:

I couldn't agree more about the "leading ladies".....SUCKED! Not to mention the screenplay from Tarantino was pretty damn weak. He's movie was more of a characature of his former self, which is disappointing!

I can understand why it tanked. It's not for everybody. I couldn't have taken my fiance or she would have walked out for sure! I don't know a woman in my life who wouldn't have liked it (not saying there aren't a few), and it's definitely not for children or old people...

I thought Death Proof was pretty freaking hilarious! My buddies and I laughed our way through it. And the "trailers" were BRILLIANT! And even the Panther Cartoon of old was sweet to see

...but 'Deathproof'?? :whatever: I seriously could not recommend this movie to anyone ever.

I thought Planet Terror was just to way over the top. Unlike most people who saw both films, I enjoyed Death Proof more than I did "Planet Terror".

I'm the exact same.

Though I really can't wait for Hobo With a Shotgun lol :D
