Second.

Let's keep this thread in the top5-active. Must spread the word. Cavill going once, going twice, SOLD! Third time lucky, come on!

Haha...!

I wonder what his chances are I just don't know with Zak Snyder

well Cavill is right up Zack's alley when it comes to casting

he is somewhat unknown to the majority and a very good actor and that sums up his whole watchmen cast and 300 cast

cavill is'nt what i call pretty more handsome just like Gerard Butler

Well, he does have somewhat delicate facial features, but whatever, that just my opinion.

If anyone has delicate facial features, it's that Hammer. He looks like a Ken doll.

Because I'm on now on probation for posting this in the Superman Casting Thread...

CAVILL DAMN IT!

Cavill is, by far, the actor with the most positive attributes. Everyone can bend certain criteria to make their preferred actor fit the bill, but I think, in terms of collective criteria for a Superman actor, Cavill is head and shoulders above the rest.

You don't like Hamm because you think he's too old? Cavill is at the prime age to make the transition from fresh, young Clark to mature, heroic Superman over the course of multiple films - all the while not aging to the point where he looks "old."

You don't like Manganiello because of his face? Cavill is handsome without being too much of a pretty boy. Women who know of Cavill think he's a beautiful man, but he's still classically handsome without looking effeminate. Like Manganiello, Cavill got slack for his nose when he was younger, but, as he's gotten older, the "broken nose" seems to have "healed" itself.

You don't like Welling or Routh because of their acting chops? Well, I'm not saying that Cavill is an Oscar winner, but he does have something that they do not when it comes to his performances. For a young actor, he was quite good in The Count of Monte Cristo, and most people didn't even realize he pulled a brilliant, bumbling, unneccessarily c0cksure, jealous lover in Stardust on account of his blonde hair & mustache. And he's matured as an actor over the seasons of The Tudors to the point where I'm certain he could do a great job in this style & genre of film.

You like Hammer because he's "unknown" and "on the brink" of stardom? Cavill isn't the household name some people think he is. Sure, we know him because we've been talking about him as a Superman candidate for years now, but most people, I assure you, wouldn't know who you were talking about should you mention the name "Henry Cavill." Like Hammer, Cavill is poised to propel himself into stardom. And when people present his "near misses" as Superman & Bond in the past as a weakness, I cannot agree. I believe this is a strength. He missed out on various projects to other actors, but we know he was "this close" to those roles. Well, who was the third guy? No one knows because no one cares - but we all know Cavill was/is good enough to almost nail those parts (and this also lends itself to the previous acting ability paragraph.)

You don't like Malambri because it would be a Superman movie for the MTV, So You Think You Can Dance!, Bieber, Miley, celebreality, popcorn fluff crowd? I can't argue with you there.

You don't like Caviezel because he's to Jesusy, or Caviezely, or not Supermany enough? Whatever. I like Caviezel.

At somewhere between 6'1" & 6'2", Cavill is at an acceptable height for Superman. I'm not even going to mention the use of "camera angles" and "lifts," because, come on, that's a good height. He's a humanoid superhero from a foreign planet - he doesn't have to be a giant. He's super, man. And at 5'9", he's plenty tall to me. People bring up the fact that Hemsworth is extremely tall as Thor. That's fine. Thor is a GOD. It's good for him to be the biggest man out there. Superman, while "godlike" to humans, is still an average guy back on his home planet. You can be in peak physical condition without having muscles on your muscles. Cavill can put on muscle without looking overly bulky or like he's roided out. Plus, he has naturally blue eyes, dark, naturally curly hair, and a deep, commanding, yet assuring, voice. And a killer smile. No, I don't have a crush on him - I just call it like I see it.

Bottom line: the "good" outweighs the "bad" when it comes to Cavill. He's got more going for him than the majority of the other candidates. But, it doesn't really matter what I think, because, in the end, they'll pick whoever they damn well please. But, until that day comes, I'm for Cavill.

And, as this is a thought-out post in support of my actor of choice, I believe that this should be acceptable in this thread as I'm not trolling or tearing apart other people's preferences (with possibly the exception of Mr. Malambri.)

Good news then hopefully

Yep Cavill is definitely Superman in my eyes, he needs to be cast, he has the look the talent pretty much everything this new Superman movie needs to finally put Superman back on the map in terms of a successful film series since the originals way back then. Give the man the job already because he's the best chose out of the bunch being talked about.

All he needs to do is bulk a little bit and shave lol! Even though I like the idea of seeing Clark like the picture above, with the stuble and all, helping people around the world like in Birthright and the Byrne version.

^^^ Yeah, that's one thing I really liked about Birthright, before he even donned the cape he was helping people around the world.

All Snyder needs to do is put him through Spartan training. Man, I really hope he's on their radar.

I have definitely warmed alot towards Cavill especially now I know BR won't be back. I'll be very happy if he is cast

The roots of this idea is from Byrne. There is an awesome story in which Clark goes to Asia to help this girl and even encounters Bruce Wayne walking down the stairs from a Monastery:

Hi all, my first post in this thread.

I'm starting to warm up to Cavill as an Option. :yay:

If he were to get cast I think he could get into the same kind of physical shape Chris Evans got into for Cap.

Anyone else think with 6 months and working with an IFBB Pro could work for him just as well?

I hope WB is looking at this guy.

I agree. I hope Snyder picks him up. Cavill's my ideal choice specially if this film is the first of a brand new franchise. He should be signed for three films at least.

SUPERMAN!!!

I remember back in 2004 when Cavill's name was mentioned as the next Superman. At the time, while he had the looks and acting ability, he looked too young. Now he would be perfect for the role.

Come on Zach. If you or a Production Assistant is reading this. Henry Cavill all the way!

That sounds awesome... is that a TPB?

That picture really convinces me its the smile it seems very Superman to me

Yeah, same. Apart from looking authoritative and powerful, a good Superman also has to look kind... Cavill's smile is very Superman-ly.

Check out Cavill's naturally wavy hair. He won't need mountains of gel to get an S-curl

I really can't imagine a better choice among known quantities at this point...

Here`s something i didn`t know. Spider-man Andrew Garfield is a Brit. So I don`t see how people would care for Superman being one too.

Nice. Glad to see more people are starting to root for Cavill now. He DOES look better and better for the part with every new picture of him released.

MAKE IT SO!
