Yeah the Skyfall comparison to Batman makes sense but IM3's trailer looks nothing like Batman's in my opinion. Unless the director comes out and says something like Bond's director I won't believe any Batman comparisons because I don't see it.

I think the trailer looks great, but so did the trailer for the second film. I have high hopes for this and already love the tone its setting.

Trailer does look great. I think the second movie had so much potential to be a great film but lost focus somewhere in the middle. Hopefully this film goes back to being about Iron Man.

Many of the official reviews also mention Skyfall's similarity to TDK, so it isn't some ridiculous fanboy reaching.

But comparing IM3's trailer to Nolan's Batman is reaching, IMO....

When they start to make us think that Tony's gonna die in all the freaking posters, we can bring up the possibility of them going the TDKR angle again. But right now it looks like a more serious IM1, which is good and refreshing.

Yeah me too I hate this dark knight comparisons I am very tired of it. All I got from this trailer is a mixture of extremist, manderine as the enemy which relates back to part 1 and the story (which i forget the title) that the suit becomes sentient and dangerous.

My favorite has to be The Avengers Blu-Ray trailer, even having already seen the movie plenty of times, it still gets me amped up.

Captain America's super bowl spot and Thor's comic-con trailer (The one that was never officially released) were great too, they blew my mind seeing them for the first time. Iron Man 3's trailer is probably the fourth best IMO.

That was a delightful read. I knew there were specific aspects of Skyfall that could be touted as Nolan-esque, but I never would have guessed that TDK actually served as inspiration for Skyfall. If I were to guess a Bond film influenced by Nolan's Batman prior, it would been Casino Royale.

But comparing IM3's trailer to Nolan's Batman is reaching, IMO....

Precisely. Nothing from this trailer oozed of Nolan's Dark Knight. It's basically Iron Man 1.5 with a more [seemingly] serious tone. And I love it!

guys i noticed something on the short set video that ET showed of the explosion at the stark mansion, there seems to be three characters on the scene: Pepper, Tony, and Maya Hansen (Rebecca Hall)

This is also possible given we know the Nano technology is part of the plot.

If the Sentient Armor is controlled by Tony's subconscious, it's *got* to be fueled by lust, the main thing that drives Stark. Somehow, I just get this picture in my mind of the big clunky robot from Robot Chicken running around humping jukeboxes, washing machines.....(no appliance is safe)

Nope. I also remembered hearing that deep sea moaning whale effect from TDKR teaser, but decided not to bring it up as people were already bringing up plot similarities between the two. lol

The trailer is up to 10,000,000 views on YouTube in less than 24 hours. The iTunes number should be incredible. It also has 79,000 likes (vs. 1100 trolls). Public reception for it is overwhelmingly positive. Marvel must be pleased.
