What I tell ya Showtime. Its harder to get rid of him than it looks. Hehe.

The LexCorp ship has sailed. Singer had his perfect opportunity to introduce LexCorp in SR. Superman returns after 5 years and finds Lex in charge of his own corporation. Imagine the shock he would feel. In the process, LexCorp develops Metallo to fight Superman.

But no, this would have required Singer to open up a comic. Instead we get Singer fanny kissing Donner and the audience gets another thrilling edge of your seat real estate scheme. LexCorp can't be done in a convincing manner anymore after the events of SR and that is the only way I would want Lex involved.

So, because Singer completely screwed the character, I say no more Lex.

I disagree. I think if they rebooted, you'd have to have Luthor, not necessarily as the main villain, of course.

i see what you mean. if they did reboot, i wouldnt mind seeing him in a small role in the Man of Steel, but its Luthor, we are talking about here. They should build up his apperance he is the Joker of Batman, the Green Goblin of Spider-Man.

they should introduce Luthor into this new "franchise" like how the Joker was introduced in the Begins franchise.

Wow, man that would have been great

*sigh*

Is it time to drop one of superman's greatest foes and make room for other villains?

In my opinion:

He has after all appeared in 4/5 of the Superman movies, and all of the animated features. Espeacially since its the Hackman Luthor who is a great chracter, but he was great for Superman I, and II. This land obssesed pyshco's scheme in Returns is even more ridiclous than his plot in Superman I (Which was rather in genius...:woot:)..so the charater in Returns didnt really fit with any modern standards of villany, more closer to stupidity.

And since theres talks of an alien villain being the film, i dnt want a alien/luthor team up, i already saw that in Superman II.

Reinvtend Luthor...well maybe down the line ina movie or two from Man of Steel we can watch...Luthor Returns (maybe under the guise a reformed buisness man)...

No Luthor for Man of Steel

I dont mind Luthor in one or perhaps in 2 Superman films but he has to be done right e.g. Similair to Lex from smallville. I also want him to be around Superman and Lois age group and to be clever and very serious. The perfect Lex would be a ruthless ambitious business man who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

i can imagine little tibits of lex in each movie, he doesn't have to be the main villian, i can see him scheme new plans and stuff, lex can probably come out at the end of a movie right after superman has beat a villian and recruit him for an injustice gang or break him out of jail.

I think that you should be banned.

For... um... Posting an opinion that you disagree with?

superfreddie4... It is 4, correct? I feel that, while Superman fighting big monsters might look really cool on screen, it would probably be lacking in the eyes of Superman fans who want to see so many of the characters they love from the comics such as Metallo, Brainiac or Doomsday.

P.S.: You might not know who he is but folks here think you're some guy named spiderfreddie who was a real bad man. If you are he I hope your ways have changed and you can continue posting here for a very long time.

Lex Luthor doesn't need to be the main villain in each movie. I wouldn't complete remove him from the series though.
They could keep him as a supporting character or have some sort of presence in all of them even if it's only a few mentions.

It's hard to see how they can introduce a Lexcorp or President Lex storyline after SR. If however Singer and his mysterious new writing team can up with a believable way of doing that i'm all for it!!

I would say that LexCorp can't be done in a convincing manner any more after the events of Superman. At the end of that movie, when Superman drops Lex off at the prison, he publicly proclaims himself to be "the greatest criminal mind of our time". I don't see how a guy who admits to being the greatest criminal mind of our time could possibly set up a multimillion dollar corporation, unless he set up a front company through a proxy I suppose, who could pretend to be the boss, while Lex took all the real control behind the scenes. But then, if he really wanted his own company, he wouldn't proclaim himself to be the greatest criminal mind of our time. He wouldn't admit to anything. He'd be smart enough to cover his tracks, just like in the Post-Crisis comics.

I'm writing my own reboot script. I'll take your thoughts into consideration.

I agree with the bolded parts, don't agree with the rest though. But I'm not sure how many parts of a Superman series I'd want him to be in.

No, of course not. I'm not a fascist. Because he's already been banned on numerous occasions. [TREVELYAN]"The man just won't take a hint."[/TREVELYAN]

I would say it's impossible. I think that the only way Lexcorp could possibly be introduced now would be if they rebooted.

LexCorp would be difficult to make believeable at this stage. I'd like to see the mad scientist Luthor ally himself with Branic.

It would have been better if Lex would have went to the F.O.S. to steal the crystals to make tech and weapons, not to create more real estate.

In Superman's absence Lex could have learned the crystals secrets, developed technologies, sold them off to the highest bidder, and formed Lex-Corp with the proceeds.

Or....

Instead of all the crystals falling out of the copter at the end of S.R., Lex should have managed to keep two or three of them.

Luthor teaming with Alien (possibly of Kryptonian Origin) sounds familiar...

*cough* Superman II *cough*

not that Luthor/Brainiac team up wouldnt be beautiful on screen, its just that maybe somethign fresh should be tried with the Superman movie franchise.

I see! The famous Branic!

Lay off me, I have a stomach virus.

Luthor didn't so much team up with the Kryptonians in SUPERMAN II as he tagged along with them for some ridiculously hard to believe reason. He just pointed out that they could use Lois Lane against him.

How would Lexiac not be "fresh"? Granted, like ten live action scripts have had it, but we've never seen it happen onscreen (Except in JLU).

i know Lexiac would be so dam amazing, but i just want to not focus on Lex for awhile, Superman has so many other villains out there.

and the whole Luthor + Krypton Tech. was used in Returns. (which could have been used to start LexCorp, but o well, missed opurtunity there...)

this ofcourse can be bi-passed if Braniac is indeed not of Kryptonian origin in the film (though he has been in several of the Superman 5 scripts).

But i think Braniac can hold his own, without Luthor...

im not a Lexiac/Brainuthor :p hater.

Luthor needs to be Corporate Shark Luthor (Lexcorp). I don't care how they get there. He needs to be in a position where he can be the evil mastermindmind hiding behind a legitmate front without directly confronting supes. From there he can be in every sequel. There can even be times when he and Supes are reluctant allies. Now there's story potential.

And I believe that the sequel, if it's truly going to be called Man Of Steel, should introduce Metallo (Richard Corben). That would tie in neatly with what everything I just posted.

And I do love Brainiac but I'd like to see this first.

I want to see Luthor as the brains behind Metallo in the first half of the new movie and then have Brainiac come into the Movie at the halfway point and team up with Lex to try and take down Superman. Lex should be in every Superman movie to some degree.

Describe your ideal Luthor?

Mine would be a power hungry ambitious man that will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. He will be ruthless and at the same time intelligent. He will be the highlight of Metroplois all the girls want him all the men want to be him. His a billionaire and golden boy who can do no wrong but in the background his behind a number of criminal activities. When Superman shows up he steals some of luthors Thunder and becomes the new golden boy of Metropolis not only that but Luthor will also harbour a deep fear of Superman. He will ask the question what if this alien this freak of nature(Lex would not see Superman as a god) decides his had enough of playing saviour and decides to play conquerer or destroyer. He will always harbour this fear but hides it from people. He will be around the same age as Lois and Clark, and will have to appeal to women. He will also have a decent build and dress exquisite at all times.

Luthorcorp will be a driving force in Metropolis, with its slogan being Luthorcorp bringing a brighter future to all. Also Luthorcorp will be one of the funders to a research facility known as S.t.a.r. labs. Lex will be on good terms with a genius known as Doctor Hamilton who is the brains behind S.t.a.r. labs, within this facility a number of research activities are going on from the development of Metahumans to gene slicing and mergers. As well as the latest development that Hamilton has stumbled across which is cloning he has almost perfected the cloning process but with a few flaws in the clones personality.

Wow I got carried away anyway guys feel free to describe your ideal Luthor for perhaps a sequel or reboot.

i think there are like 2 threads about this 2 pages back. i will try to find them.
