I read that wrong from the crazy spelling going on with names. Damn it guys.

There is Brandon like Routh

and Brendan like Fraser

GET IT RIGHT! :p

As I semi-outlined before, there are different ways he can get back into the corporate Lex. Call it a pipe dream if you wish, but I think its quite possible to turn public opinion with a detailed explanation of the technology coming out of Supes secret FOS (weapon of mass dest true location lol)

Further swayed by the tech gained through Brainiac who will later double cross him once again leaving Lex as innocent victim (to some).
That sounds more like a plot twist from the 50's. I don't think people would be as easily swayed by a mass murderer today. The government could concievable use his genius for making weapons....but he would be kept in confinement and the populace wouldn't be told of it.

Now Brandon is too old. Some people said Brandon Routh was too young for Supes wtf?
Yeah....that's funny to hear.

If the technology could only be applied through Luthor (because of Brainiac) it could be a whole different ball game.

I would have liked to see Lex get his power and billions from a combination of his genius and working with Braniac (not knowing that Braniac was just using him for his own means)....but that scenerio would only work in a reboot (and I don't think a major reboot would work this soon after SR).

I think the best case scenario Lexcorp or not is we get 1 Singer sequel... If it does great then maybe another, if it does the same as SR did probably wait 4-5 years and reboot. Still imo even as an underperformer it did do well enough to warrant 1 sequel.

I don't think MOS would be a success. I think it would be another break even at best. Thus, instead of wasting time and trying a sequel that probably has a slim at best profit margin and plan on doing a reboot like 10 years down the line anyway (and risk it then), I say risk it now, and do the reboot instead. May fail, but in the case that is succeeds, the franchise is in better shape and the Superman brand is not considered a break even investment anymore.

I see no real advantage in doing a Singer sequel first from a business stand point. This movie wasn't loved like BB (which is causing mass hysteria for TDK), so I don't see the sequel being this huge juggernaut.

It won't be break even if it does the same numbers as SR. Smaller budget that does not include previous failures. That creates a much larger profit margin imo. If the word of mouth on MOS is good (action delivers) then figure another 50-100 million. Not to mention increase on video game, dvd's, general merchandising...

You'll get video games, DVDs, general merchandising with any Superman movie, so really it comes down to which movie is better/the better sell to the public.

Personally, I have no confidence in Singer, thus I see it making similar BO to SR. Now, a reboot is a wild card. It could go 3 ways. Similar BO to SR (now we know it is the character and not just the movies themselves), better BO than SR (in which, you now have a true Superman franchise once again), or worse BO than SR (effectively destroying Superman for the near future).

If I were WB, I would be willing to take the risk on a reboot, but be very careful in the manner of the reboot. Take many ideas and then see which they feel is most marketable.

Reboot will take longer to setup than a sequel I'd say though. Sequel 2010 - reboot 2015... :-/

I don't think a sequel could be out by 2010 unless a lot more has been done on it than we are aware (like a shooting script either done or very nearly done). Since 2011 is already jumbled, I predict 2012 for a sequel. Reboot may take longer, but the reward is a genuine Superman franchise if done right.

Speaking of sequels that are supposed to come out on 2010...Anybody's got the skinny on Iron Man 2? Did they sign Favreau yet? He seemed unsure about rushing a sequel for 2010, and going for 2011 instead, but that kinda destroys Marvel's plan in setting up the Avengers. I hope he is not replaced like some people were saying. :csad:

I may revise both my opinions on Brendan and Selma Blair (my picks) once I see HB2 and Mummy 3 and Journey...lol.

Maybe he should be Superman...lol. I actually am going to see all those movies :cwink:

We'll wait and see on IM2. If Marvel drops him, that is a MONUMENTAL mistake.

Anyways, IM2 will be a mad rush for 2010, but since Favs had an idea for it already, I think it is manageable. They just need to start moving on it right now. If they wait any longer, they'll have to do it in 2011 and either have no IM2 until after Avengers or push Avengers back (the latter being more likely).

I think it's doable...They will probably move IM2 a month or so, if not more, but still release it in 2010.

No way would I want to wait 7 yrs for another Supes film, even if it is a reboot.
I doubt even W.B. is that crazy.

Well it doesnt excatly have to be 7yrs, with the right cast and great script it should be ready earlier. Although if a reboot was in order I would rather they take their time to get things right and perfect. Superman really cant afford another flop so a reboot has to be spot on.

OH MY GOD,we actually agree on something!! there could be hope in the world!!!:woot:

Pre-Crisis Luthor, pure menace.

You mean this one?

:hehe:

Let's be honest, dude - we both know that Pre-Crisis Lex Luthor was far from an interesting or unique character. You just, for some reason, want the comics industry to revert back "TO DAH GOOD OL' DAZE," and have an irrational hatred for anything that stems from DC post 1985.

I mean, let me ask you, why are always so condescending in your posts?
