The Official Lois Lane Casting & Discussion Thread - Part 3

LatinoReview claims McAdams and Wilde have tested. Wilde's representative shot down rumors that she'd be playing Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot, but has yet to shoot down the claims that she read for the part of Lois Lane. Aintitcoolnews reported that Jessica Biel met with Snyder for a brief luncheon. Kristina Anapau (from Black Swan) has expressed interest in the role but no one has reported on WB or Snyder approaching her.

i think that's about the most concrete info about Lois's casting we've gotten so far.
Source?

But... I mean, by all means continue posting pictures of hot women in hardly any clothes.

It's always been one of the advantages of the Lois Lane thread. :yay:

I'll do better than that, Sir. How's a video? This is Alison Brie's photoshoot for Complex Magazine.

There were photos of her dressed as Croft but they were from a HOUSE photo shoot

Just to clarify, Brie is 6 mos. OLDER than Cavill.
Not according to IMDB and Wiki. Henry was born in May of 1983, and she was born 6 months later in December. Not that it matters.

here's one article with her representative debunking the rumors of her as Lara Croft...

...i have yet to see any articles of her representative even addressing Wilde's involvement (or lack there of) in Superman.
Ah, I was under the assumption her reps simply gave a "no comment" in regards to Supes, which would be telling. Though I suppose it's all moot, she's one of the most obvious candidates regardless, thanks to her recent rise in stock.

well...the way i read it, the fact that her representative has yet to address her involvement with this project pretty much is "no comment" hehe. her rep quickly puts to rest the Lara Croft rumor less than a week after it was birthed, but here we are almost 3 weeks into Latinoreview's claim that Wilde tested for Lois but no word from her rep on this matter...

...it's clear to me that Wilde has AT LEAST auditioned.

That poll needs to be re-done. McAdams and Wilde are the only two legitimate choices on there.

My choice is Emily Blunt but Alison Brie would be a fantastic left field choice.

I honestly think Monaghan looks younger than McAdams, and I don't think McAdams looks too old either.

I REALLY hope they don't go with someone like Brie who looks younger than Cavill. I'd be perfectly happy with Lois looking the same age as him, but IF she doesn't, she'd better look older. Lois is the seasoned reporter, Clark's the new hire. If that's not the dynamic, I'll be a little a disappointed, tbh.

Also, Stroup is a terrible actress, imo.

I don't think it matters if Lois is a couple years older or younger than Cavill. No one has said whether Lois is THAT seasoned of a reporter in this film yet. Perhaps this is before she has won her Pulitzer. Also many actors and actresses can be made to look older or younger by a few years. Someone younger than Cavill should be fine.

She's not only older than him, but they easily appear to be in the same age bracket.

That looks too young for Cavill? I feel like she has the perfect balance of the young, fresh face for a franchise as well as the early maturity of a woman.

:hrt: Beautiful.

My 3rd fave.

My fault; I got that backwards. Sorry, that's what lack of sleep does.
No worries, I've made that exact mistake before, it happens. :yay:

As I said, I don't care if she IS younger than Cavill, I care if she LOOKS younger than Cavill. If she does, I'll be dreading a repeat of Bosworth - some girl attempting to play a much more mature woman than she's suited for. And if they do make Lois younger than him as some young ambitious upstart just getting into the journalism world in the actual story, then as I said, I'd find that quite disappointing, because that's not the basis for the Lois/Clark dynamic that I know and have been wanting to see done properly. I'm fine with it being set pre-Pulitzer, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't still be a seasoned reporter when Clark meets her.

has anybody ever suggested Anna Kendrick..... her performance in Up in the air made me think she could do it (and I can see her with Cavill too):

I would be okay with Anna. I think she can pull it off. Not going to get the wow factor like Olivia Wilde, because she's a bit quirky at times. Looks pretty good here though.

i fell asleep during that movie so i cant comment:oldrazz:

I wasn't sure what to expect with that movie. Not in my top ten, but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Anna did a great job in that movie. The role she had wasn't a traditional role that's for sure. Definitely a talented actor. I liked her in Scott Pilgrim too.

Wow, I never considered Anna Kendrick before, though she might have been mentioned . . . but I like this idea! She's unconventionally beautiful and gives off an air of being smart, savvy, and more than a little sassy (at least based on her performance in "Up in the Air"). Plus, she's an Academy Award-nominated actress. Kind of the same reasons I'm also a huge supporter of Emily Blunt. I want someone unique for Lois. Good choice! :applaud

And after SR, another high-school looking Lois is the last thing I want. :o

Anna Kendrick maybe looks too young, but she's such a good actress! She could be an adorable Lois Lane.

Kate Bosworth was younger than her when she played Lois, and she doesn't have half of Anna's talent.

her strongest asset would be (IMO) her chemistry with Cavill...I can totally picture her flying around in the arms of Cavill's superman !
