Rachel McCadams

I know she's an old and cliche choice at this point, but I still think Rachel is far and away the best choice for Lois
Rachel McAdams is not a good choice for Lois Lane....... maybe she is a good choice for Lana Lang

Stroup would be a slightly better version of Bosworth, who was also too young looking for the part.
fixed...Stroup would be a infinitely better version of Bosworth, who was also too young looking for the part.
speaking strictly for myself, out of all the choices presented, Stroup strikes me the most as Lois despite her youth. putting her (lack of) popularity aside, when i close my eyes and envision Lois she matches my visual 90% while someone like Blunt or Monaghan match my visual 75% to 80%...and while McAdams, Hathaway, and Monaghan would all probably make fine Lois' they've been mentioned for EVERY SINGLE role under the comic book sun. Stroup hasn't.....on top of that, Stroup has a mature charisma about her that most young actresses don't (including Greene, imo).I don't get the Stroup thing personally. I'd prefer someone more established such as McAdams, Hathaway, Monaghan, many good choices out there.
fixed...
...btw, if they're going with a younger Clark/Superman for this movie then it would be logical that they would want to cast a younger actress for Lois. also, Stroup is a year older than Ashley Greene.

I've been hearing a lot of positive feedback about olivia wilde in tron. Could this up her chances to play lois lane or catwoman?
She's definitely one of the best candidates.I know she's an old and cliche choice at this point, but I still think Rachel is far and away the best choice for Lois
This.Bosworth's age was no problem for me. Her acting, lack of chemistry with Routh, obvious inability to capture the essence of the character - combined with a script with seemed to have missed the point of Lois Lane entirely was the problem. Besides, she just didn't fit what I imagine Lois to look like.
Jessica Stroup is exactly what I think Lois should look like in the new movie. But if she had no chemistry with the guy they choose to fill Superman's boots, and she couldn't get a grip with the character, then I wouldn't want her either.
From what i've seen of her on 90210 I think she actually would pull off a great Lois.
Those two can act, but i dont see them as Lois. I mean come on, acting ability is important but there are other factors to consider. The best choices I've seen are Hathaway, McAdams, and Blunt. Some of these women just haven't shown me anything as far as acting ability. Greene, Stroup, and Akerman are average at best. If they cast an unknown for Superman, they need proven actors to round out the rest of the cast.
She was so damn hot in this movie (suprisingly her huge head wasnt so obviously huge this time) and very good in her role. The thing is that i dont see her as the fiesty type. She has that bland voice and that demeanor, that i dont think she can be the bubbly Lois Lane we've come to love. And this coming from a fan of hers ever since she appeared on House.I've been hearing a lot of positive feedback about olivia wilde in tron. Could this up her chances to play lois lane or catwoman?
She looks the part more than anyone else i've seen suggested and she seems like she can act. If she truly does, and they go with a young superman, then why not? The women you suggested are too old for a youngish Superman anyway. She hasnt proved her worth yet, but you have to start from somewhere right?I don't get the Stroup thing personally. I'd prefer someone more established such as McAdams, Hathaway, Monaghan, many good choices out there.

Agreed 100%.
The thing is, I want every single actor/actress cast to be completely unexpected, and showing us something we have never seen before. I know it's asking a lot. I know it's highly unlikely, because big name actress = more people watching.
But I would much rather have someone like Stroup as Lois. An actress that the general public have no expectations of, in terms of acting character and quirks (unlike McAdams or Hathaway). It's not that they have as distinctive a style as say Johnny Depp, but they do come with their own baggage... and I just want someone to play Lois like Lois, not like themself/other famous characters they've played/lois hybrid.
When I look at Stroup I see Lois. I've watched a lot of her work on 90210, and while the character is not Lois Lane like in a lot of ways, there is something that Stroup brings that I think screams Lois. The kind of sarcastic drole confidence. The off tangent babbling and 'freaking out' moments.
All they'd need to do is give her an amazing script, and I think she'd pull it off really well.
None of these really looks or has that Lois thing that Teri Hatcher seemed to be born with. Also, those are just popular choices, and especially the last ones are just overrated actresses due to hotness or whatever. But they re really nothing special.Don't really have one favorite per se, but would definitely like if Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde, Rachel McAdams, Amy Adams, Keri Russell, Mia Kirshner, or Eliza Dushku got the role.
They have more of the Lois factor than Stroup has.None of these really looks or has that Lois thing that Teri Hatcher seemed to be born with.
Popular choices yes, but for this role they actually are good choices that fit. Also, those are just popular choices,
Maybe for desperate straight guys, but after actually seeing their movies that are more indie than major box office releases, they have shown they are good to great actresses.and especially the last ones are just overrated actresses due to hotness or whatever. But they re really nothing special.
It's called hair dye or a wig. Posters were *****ing and moaning when Emma Stone was cast as Gwen instead of MJ because of hair color. And when the recent blonde pics of Stone came out, everyone who complained ate their words because of how small minded they were in thinking that I can't believe you're seriously talking about hair being an issue. And finally, Amy Adams, a ginger Lois? This will be like the permawhite issue all over again.
I'm not getting in another accent debate in a casting thread. And then Hall has a heavy enlish accent and a nerdy look. FAIL.

You cant dye her hair. She'd look ridiculous with black hair and all her hotness would be lost. Adams' shtick is her cuteness and gingerness. It's called hair dye or a wig. Posters were *****ing and moaning when Emma Stone was cast as Gwen instead of MJ because of hair color.
I dont want to either, i'm just saying that she does sound English and looks like a nerdy chick. She is soooooo wrong for this. She is no Lois, otherwise why dont we cast Meryl Streep? She is an awesome actress right?I'm not getting in another accent debate in a casting thread.
Seriously, go rent Wild Target before you discount her from the role because of "hottness"Emily Blunt - Not a bombshell, she doesn't have that hottness.
Lucky for us, Hathaway isn't a man.Anne Hathaway - we don't need a man playing Lois Lane
I'm not trying to be mean, but are your eyes working properly?Rebecca Hall - LOL, wow, looks like Andy Dick's sister
Try harder?Olivia Wilde - Hot, the only hottest on your list, but can't picture her as Lois Lane
Sure she can be.Rachel McAdams - Not a bombshell, Lana Lang candidate, DEFINATLY NOT LOIS LANE.
It's called acting..........Amy Adams - Too nice of appeal for Lois, but definately Lana Lang
She didn't fail with Singer, another actress was simply chosen, which had more to do with Kevin Spacey than Singer.Keri Russell - Failed with Bryan Singer, and she is fail in general
She's only 2 inches shorter than your pics. A nice set of heels and camera magic can fix that.Mia Kirshner - short, too short, goth looking.
I think it would be a refreshing role for her.Eliza Dushku -![]()
Sorry, but Lois can only handle herself so well without Superman. Now my list. Lois Lane not only needs to be a bombshell, but she needs to be a suitable pair with Superman, meaning she needs to be able to handle herself and kick butt.
Boring, only popular because of an overrated show and has stated she's wanted to quit acting.Evangeline Lilly
We don't need Michael Jackson as Lois LaneAshley Greene
