Okay. Say I have a simplistic logic, but in the end, there was no reason for Sandman to be involved with Uncle Ben in the first place. It reeked of Raimi and Maguire trying to make Sandman bigger than he is.
Just as Neil said, Sandman should be a petty crook nothing more. No signs of redemption.
I agree that the retcon feels tacked, but this particular story had its reasons to make it so, to push Peter for revenge - and then when he was taken by darkness, but then again, who forced the symbiote storyline on Raimi? 		 And X-Men 1 and 2 were Fox films lol. Now Sony is no where near the level of Fox. Well that hasn't happened yet and hopefully it won't. As low as this is for Sony it is also smart and they are obviously looking for talent first and foremost, cheap talent, but talent none the less.
