Yeah, you have a point. This would make sense to you and I, however, some people would argue that that isn't shepard's last breath. That shepard does get up and reunite with his love interest who hesitated to plaster his name on the normandy, but that is never shown (coz it cuts to black). if that were assumed it would reinforce the plot hole. i mean, with or without extra analysis, the ending is terrible enough as it is.

The scene with the memorial was in the extra content right?

Oh Bioware, you cad.

You know, I don't even know what are we even talking about.... we're saying the same thing... Like, The destroy ending destroy every synthetic race, in this case, Reapers, Geth and EDI. About the rest? The Catalyst doesn't lie about the whole Organic vs Synthetic thing, he isn't a human who can disobey an order, he has no gain in this, nothing benefits him, he doesn't want any benefits, he simply doesn't want you to pick Destroy. That's it.

That was a joke about the movie's length, 2:40, lol.

Well, I have to go now :oldrazz:
well, you were saying before that non reaper tech would be only temporarily be affected according to the codex, which contradicts the starchild, but that's about it. the starchild may believe in his whole organic vs synthetic ordeal, but it is still effing bogus. he's not human, but according to himself, he is no ordinary ai either.

oh word, i did not realize av2 was almost 3 hours long. damn.

yep, extended cut. but even without that extra scene, people could and would assume shepard gets up and reunites with his love/lover. the scene of said person hesitating to plaster his name just didn't come till the extended cut.

Ahh, silly ol' Bioware.

Personally I had assumed Shepard died, but yeah, I can definitely see some people making the assumption that he bounced back up and went about about his business.

...which, now that I think about it, would have been fine. I mean, if they're going to set the next game so far in the future none of the endings matter anyway, what would have been the harm in offering an ending where Shepard walks away unscathed?

it's fine for those who choose to believe it, but not for me. they would have to actually show it happening, they would have to allow for you to see it in cutscenes and allow you to play the game post-ending, but it doesn't. it redirects to pre-cerberus ambush after you beat the game. also, during the extended cut destroy slideshow, it isn't clear how much time has passed between the slides, and shepard's last breath. so, if it was within the same 24 hours that the shockwave took place, all those events happened in the slideshow? that quickly? or, if the events of the slideshow took place over a span of a few weeks...shepard was unconscious in the rubar rubble for weeks and weeks and THEN draws his last breath?

that may not be a plot hole, but it sure is an inconsistency.

Will this new version of Mass Effect be a trilogy? If so, I sure hope they don't **** the bed with the ending like they did with Shepard's story.

they haven't really said but i'm guessing Me4 will be the start to a new trilogy, yeah.

The plan is to make another trilogy and do the exact same ending.

My brother's a huge an of Mass Effect. I just sit down and enjoy watching him play it.

His opinions were:

Mass Effect 1 is his personal favorite.

Mass Effect 2, while enjoyable was somewhat of a downgrade.

Mass Effect 3 is probably his least favorite, though he was satisfied with extended cut......He's just not a fan of the gameplay.

He's looking forwad to Mass Effect 4.

I hope we get a lot of stuff for the next ME at E3. They've had plenty of time now and the fame could be out next year.

that sounds good to me bro and it makes sense, but do you have a source for that?

It was a joke. They're not really going to do the exact same ending which was criticised so wildly, plus you wouldn't redo the exact same ending even it was good. :woot:

oh lol. i thought you meant they were doing the same thing meaning a trilogy of the games where the first and second games' stories carry through into the third. it would make sense that they'd do that but I just don't remember them specifically saying that but it doesn't matter coz you weren't serious haha.

well, I hope they let you carry over the saves and character throughout the new trilogy.

I would want that too and it would make sense but I don't if they said it'll be a trilogy like the last one. It'll probably be something of the sort.

Even if a new trilogy isn't planned, the feature can be added during production of a possible unplanned sequel and so on

I think I mighta seen something like that before, but na not interested. I hope to find a ME galaxy map poster some time in the future.

Lol, anyway I'm pretty sure there will be a Mass Effect trilogy this gen with decisions (from just this trilogy) carrying over. I think the co-op mode will get super-popular too. It was amazing for a first attempt.

yeah, the coop was pretty dope. i love that it boosted your ems too. a lot of people didn't like that they added mp, though.
