See how I never had a problem with the ending to ME3, I'm all about the hype train with the next one.

Unfortunately for me I'm in the "practically ruined forever" area, so the notion of another game didn't immediately bring me to joy. But I will keep an open mind.

Man I wish I could be this hyped for ME4. I'm a little more open to it than I was before though. Right now what I really want to know is how they'll go about the endings of ME3. However if they just outright ignore the whole thing, I'll be fine with that too.
recent bioware tweets imply that they're gonna go with such a broadened approach with Me4 that the endings that were chosen by the player won't be a matter.

I don't think the endings chosen will be significant. It's a big universe and with the passage of enough time anything could have happened regardless of the outcome at the end of the trilogy. I think if people are going to attach a disproportionate amount of focus on the ending with the new set of games too they won't be able to get properly hyped till the end of it, by which it will probably be too late. I get the complaints about the ending but I loved the rest of the trilogy from start to finish, plus many great storylines were ended well in ME3 during the course of the game. For me the journey towards the ending is probably 85% of the pleasure I got from the trilogy. And if someone told me the new set of games would have an even worse ending maybe by hype level would go down a bit, but then I'm not just playing for the endgame. During the game I'm having as much fun as gaming currently allows. Plus I bet they sort it out properly this time after it ruined what should been a crowning achievement for them.

For some reason I didn't have a huge problem with the ending to begin with. They weren't good by any mean, but they also didn't ruin the series for me.

Can't remember much of the little info they have released for the next ME, have the developers said anything if the game would be set like hundreds of years after the previous trilogy?

I didn't play the dlc ending but I didnt have a major problem with the default endings either. I felt my ending was alright and yeah a bit disappointing and I understand some people's complaints but the huge backlash still seems overblown to me.

I'm excited to know more about this game and I don't get why others wouldn't just because of 3's ending. Like or hated it,this is a new start with new characters and that means new stories.

The original trilogy was not ruined for me and the new one could be even better

Nice, I am anxious to see more or hear more about this game. As we were discussing in the uncharted thread, I really want a remaster of this trilogy.

I always got the impression the events of the original games will be more legend than fact in the far future. At the end of ME3 we're shown a small child and his grandpa (I think?) and the kid keeps referring to Shepard as "The Shepard". I imagine that by that point in time the story of Shepard had become so diluted that people of the future don't even know Shepard's gender, let alone the finer points of how he or she stopped the Reapers.

If this is the case, which I believe it will be in ME4, it's a great way to make every ending canon and every ending not canon at the same time.

That's what I've wanted since I first saw the ending with the kid and old man. I'd like for ME4 to be set hundreds or even a few thousand years after the last game and Shepard/ME 1-3 events be referenced as legend/myth

they said this is taking place at the same time as ME2 - 3 the next game how ever, that might take place years /centurys later or it might not with latter lore wise This installment won't do that at all. which was in the post I posted to ic ma that had the video of that press release

What is that source?

it was from the now dead JoyStiq

here's the post just a pae over #514
Have they said much about the new character creation? I'd like to have the option of playing as an alien race, not sure if that's likely. But at least hopefully a tonne of customisation options available.
Besides what was shown here.

If you weren't able to attend, Microsoft and BioWare have published full video of their respective San Diego Comic Con panels on Halo: the Master Chief Collection and the next Mass Effect. If you've got 90 minutes spare, you could do worse than perching right here and checking them out - the Halo video's up top with Mass Effect below the break.

If you've been lost in space for the last month and this is the first you've heard of either of these things, let's fill you in. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a remastered compilation of Halos 1-4, and it's coming to Xbox One on November 11. It also includes access to the Ridley Scott live-action Halo: Nightfall series, as well as the Halo 5 multiplayer beta, due to begin in December.

As for the next Mass Effect, details remain scant beyond what you'll see in the video below. The game won't star Commander Shepard but a new hero instead, and a new hero with a new Mako, for that matter. As for platforms, release windows, etc. BioWare producer Mike Gamble says the studio's still "years from being able to say that this is the exact game that we're making," so it sounds like we're way off from any concrete details.

not much
All that we know is that we'll create the characters our selves while compared to shepard that we played as prior ad their still human, from what it sounds like. We' still need more details about that.

Ah, thanks man
This backs it up also from solar tiger

First and foremost, BioWare wanted to establish that this next Mass Effect game will be set during the same time period as the first ME trilogy, but will not feature Commander Shepard. The developers didn’t rule out the possibility of running into familiar places, but since this game will focus on exploring a vast universe that’s not necessarily a given.

Damn, I was hoping it would be set in the far future. They should just select an ending to ME3 and make it canon.

Well that's kinda disapointing. I guess it would be cool though if we go to the citadel and see one of the Normandy's there and hear a character mentioning Commander Shepard being around

The Mako was cool but I also like those gliders (or whatever you call them) from Destiny. Actually the planet surfaces themselves were very nice in Destiny. One aspect I thought they did well. Would like to have both as the Mako seems a bit low-tech compared to that.

Glider's ??? You mean the hover bikes? or the personal star ships ?

cuase I would like the bike especialy with the city area's like the citadel etc.

The game taking place during the trilogy kind of kills my excitement a little. I want the universe to move forward. Screw player choice. Control your universe Bioware! :cmad:

Oh well...

There's still that other project the east cost's working on. ( no not the MMO )

They still have yet to give details on that other project though

it's an rpg after all, they're always going to include player input.

Don't know what they're called. The ones you can call up at any time.

Btw we're still getting both ME4 and a new IP right?

yeah they're the hover bikes .

yep we are we just have to find out what that other project is.

We just know it's in the same universe & is sorta being worked on at the same time. But won't be released at the same time

I think the spinoff would have been more suited to the ME2 &3 period with ME4 taking place a LONG time after the original trilogy.

yeah well in the video I re put up for baneful which addressed you the lead writer said they weren't calling this ME4 at all as you ca see there. this was doe only cause the creator of this thread has it up from the jump. & the fact we do't have the official name it's a place holder til we have the official name.

So til we have that official name...... it's just the new ME ip from now. no "4 "

and I appreciate that.

also, even though they're saying the game won't be titled Me4, I think there's a chance they might still name it that.
