RUMOURED METAL GEAR GAME ANNOUNCEMENT!



Metal Gear 3: Revoler Ocelot

With the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots upon us, speculation surfaces this morning that Konami may be ready to unveil a new Metal Gear title for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) at this year’s E3.
The rumor comes from Russian site StarSniper, which was down at the time of this writing. However, a member on the PlayStation.com forums dropped some information about the supposed upcoming PSP title.
“The game is titled Metal Gear 3: Revolver Ocelot and it takes place between MGS: Portable Ops and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. It will feature some scenes from the original Metal Gear.”

“The game uses a recruitment system similar to MGS:PO and the main character is Revolver Ocelot, looking similar to both MGS3 and MGS1. Big Boss is not a playable character, but appears sometimes during the cut scenes supervising the construction of outer heaven.”
More details will reportedly be revealed at E3.

Is Raiden gonna be playable this go round? I havent been keeping up with this game at all, given that i dont have a PS3 yet, but i remember a video of Raiden in some sort of ninja getup kicking all kinds of metal gear ass.

Nope. The closest you will get to playing as Raiden in MGS4 is through Metal Gear Online.

And even then, it's just a game skin. You won't have his awesome ninja skills.

i think that was kojima's way of getting back at everyone who complained about raiden in mgs2 because they had to play as him and didn't want to.

now they want to play as him, and can't.

Besides, making Snake old adds a sense of humanity and sympathy to his character, which is nice. He seems more human now.

Basically, you can unlock masks of a young Solid Snake: one with a bandana, and one without.

Yea and now they make him an uber bad ass. I actually didnt mind Raiden from MGS2, i mean i would have preferred to remain Snake, but Raiden was alright. Now its like, man i dont wanna play as the geezer, i wanna play as the whiney guy that no one wanted to play as in the other MGS game.

Playing the game as Raiden would lose its appeal very quickly. Sure, it'd be cool jumping around slicing up Gekkous and pulling off insane dodges and flips. But only for so long. Eventually, it would get stale, seeing as how Raiden in this game is damn near immortal.
