I got to play Prime 4 last night for like 3 hours, and loving it so far

If 80 is the low point of a franchise 4 games in, that's still pretty good. There aren't many games who can make it to a second game and maintain a high score.

I am fairly close to the end. May even finish it tonight when I get home from work and after kids are in bed. Here is hoping.

I am having a lot of fun with the game. It isn't perfect and I think this game is probably closer to Prime 3 from a quality standpoint. But I enjoyed Prime 3. I have a good idea what will be the elements that bother some people.

I would agree, Viola can get redundant and I am not a racing game guy, so combat got tedious for me on it. This is probably my least favorite aspect of the game. That and the run backs back to the base camp get tedious the 4th or 5th time.

The hate for the game is very overblown. This game is very similar to Prime 3 in a lot of ways to me. Feels like an evolution of that one. The Federation troopers are fine in the game. The desert is tedious and that part feels like padding, but outside that this feels like a Metroid Prime game to me. I would say on par with Prime 3.
