So if the motion capture suit that Shannon wears turns out to be something resembling this, would you guys be happy about it?

I wonder if the other motion capture suit individuals will also sport something similar to this look as well.

Here's an interview with Shannon stating that Zod does not have horns on his head in this film (as the Zod does in ur Pic)...

OG: What can you say about the character of General Zod?

"MS: He’s not one of these archetypal villains with horns coming out of his head and breathing fire or something. He’s a man, a Kryptonian man. He’s a general, that’s his main attribute. That’s the way I approach it: playing a general. I’ve done military parts before, but I’ve only been up to sergeant, so this is a big promotion."

I would like to add, even though Shannon stated in his recent interview that he has no idea what the Mocap suit will look like, he is obviously full of it IMO. In a separate interview Shannon explains how Zack went over the art work with him for MOS.

^ lol i think he was not talking physically about horns but more so the line means he is not 1 dimensional

Judging on what Shannon has just confirmed about there being two suits, I'd say this has got to be a a likely design possibility :)

There's two different modes. There's something that I have to wear a motion-capture suit for, because if I actually wore it, I wouldn't be able to move. It's a very big…thing. I actually don't know what it's going to look like, I just know that it's very cumbersome. There's another thing that I wear that's an actual costume. It's pretty simple. There's no paisley or anything.

lets hope in the context of the story it makes sense. i dont think a kryptonian needs an armor on Earth to fight another kryptonian

So in this film Zod will sometimes look like a man and other times turn into a monster? Or rather than turning into a monster he may use some big weapons which connect to his suit and they decided to display this via cgi so he could move better?

This for Zod seems possible given Shannon's words, but I'd imagine the other large mo-cap guy is going to look different to keep Zod unique.

If there even is another large mo-cap guy.

It could be that Shannon is in mo-cap as the 'big thing' for close up shots where u can make out his face, but the other guy has been filling in for scenes that won't have that much detail or something.

I mean, I'm not entirely sure how all that works.

That's possible I guess, the stunt guy does the fights and then the close ups are Shannon, but he talked about moving around in the mo-cap suit so I'm not sure.

At any rate this could look amazing onscreen.

Yeah, he's said he doesn't really know what the final product will look like, so I'd say For Tomorrow-esque armor is definitely a possibility.

Gotta dig the Samurai warlord look that design has going on.

And everyone was complaining that we were getting the Terrence Stamp Zod all over again.

Psshaw.

the problem is Shannon looks ****ing tiny next to Cavill... in his recent interview, the guy has small arms, doesn't look built at all... It would look rather ridiculous for him to easily beat up Superman unless they showed him have some superior fight training

at any rate, I'm hoping Superman doesn't have to resort to trickery or like smarts to beat the villains in this... I want to see a Superman who takes a beating but then at the end absolutely beats the living tar out of Zod and his cronies at the end... I want to see an Angry God like Superman completely demolish Zod, kind of like the last episode of JLU where he trashed Darkseid

I think we all thought that was the direction Snyder was going in

COuld be even crazier though, could wind up looking like Onslaught.... thats kinda what I have in my mind

Could be the guy walking with the post on his head does in fact represent Zod in the Kryptonian combat gear

Yea I agree....it's like they take the easy way out at times. I guess that's what the problems
were with the 3rd act, maybe they tried to find a better way for supes to beat zod and co

I had a thought that the damaged kryptonian armor could be salvaged by Lex and reworn by him in the sequels

Interesting... or even just reverse engineers it?

I have to admit I'm not a fan of the evil Samurai Warlord design. It is just looks too stereotypically evil and I think that deviates too much from how Shannon describes their take on the character. I'd rather have the suit have a more morally neutral appearance and allow Zod's presence make it dark and intimidating.

I would imagine a more sinister and militaristic version of Jor-El's clothing, maybe. Not so close to that techno samurai look. Just a guess anyway.

Maybe it's his battle armor, worn above the Kryptonian formal wear... and he has it when he first arrives on earth. Then he realizes the power he gets from our sun, discards the armor and then just wears the Kryptonian suit that Jor-El had on underneath his robes and Superman uses for his uniform.

Idk; I mean, I think the guy in the motion capture suit could be a different character; I mean if it was Zod, then I would have thought that they'd get Shannon to be there alongside for the shots with the actress playing Faora.

Michael Shannon has been pap'd in his mo cap suit. The guy with Faora was a different character, but Shannon has one too.
