Heck, if it isn't Kryptonian and requires motion capture technology to create its look, then color me impressed and excited since I've been waiting to see Superman challenge something with a out-of-this-world appearance in films for the longest time.

Non was originally from the movies, but was added into the comics and was much, much bigger than his movie version.

Was Non part of the comic world or just the Donner world? Because nothing created in the Donner world is in the Snyder world.

I wouldn't go quite that far. Jor-El wears the :super:, that's Donner.

That's possible I guess, the stunt guy does the fights and then the close ups are Shannon, but he talked about moving around in the mo-cap suit so I'm not sure.

At any rate this could look amazing onscreen.

If we get that kind of fight with Zod. My jaw is going to be planted firmly on the floor. :)

I can see that shot in Snyder slow mo :p

I hope there is minimal slow motion and that Snyder finds some way to use it more effectively. Above all, I want a serious, dramatic Superman film that transcends genres like the Nolan Batman films. I believe the character deserves nothing less.

Seriously, a modern adaptation of Superman has so much potential on so many levels, even moreso today I would say.

There's real chance to actually redefine the "traditional" good-guy superhero amongst todays gritty anti-heroes like Batman and Wolverine.

With Snyder some of those levels might be not so subtle and elegant though, but I'll be damned if it's not gonna look crazy spectacular.

Oh I agree completely.

I was actually rewatching Owls of Ga'hoole last night. There is so much I love about the way it was filmed. When the Guardians go into battle it's really beautiful, and I love that slow mo shot of soren flying through the rain and lightening. Gives me shivers :)

But there are times when he cuts to slow mo for a few seconds in the middle of the action where it feels more like someone keeps pressing pause and play!

Agreed.

The potential is so high that there is no chance of me not getting my hopes up :D

I just saw Take Shelter. Michael Shannon was brilliant yet again. I seriously can't wait to see him play this character.

Havent seen it yet. But Shannon usually have very laidback and non-physical roles, right?

Cant imagine him all brawling and little dialogue.

I'm crossing my fingers his performance doesn't get chewed up by the blockbuster storm. In light of Rourke's recent bitterness towards IM2, hopefully Snyder keeps in mind anything short of a powerful performance from Shannon is a wasted opportunity.

Batman isn't an anti-hero.

Shannon: I hope Crowe's recovered!

Monday Nov 28 2011
Michael Shannon is hoping that Russell Crowe has recovered, following their screen tussle in Man Of Steel.
The Take Shelter star, who appears in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot as villainous alien General Zod, put his Australian co-star, who plays Superman's biological father Jor-el, through his paces in the hotly-anticipated fight scene.
"I think he's out of the hospital, although I left as soon as he couldn't get up off the floor," he joked.
"I just said, 'I'm done with you', and I just walked out, so hopefully I won't get fired from the movie. That would be awful, because they are paying me an awful lot of money," he added.
It has been speculated that the fight between the two characters will take place on the alien planet of Krypton, where Superman - portrayed by Henry Cavill - was born.
Michael, who also appears in Boardwalk Empire, said his role in the upcoming Man Of Steel is a whole new adventure.
"It's feeling kind of strange. I mean, it's totally different than anything I have ever done before," he revealed.
"I have never played an alien, or a general. I don't really have a frame of reference for these things so you just have to use your imagination but I think that's what we're supposed to do anyway."
Man Of Steel, which also stars Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Christopher Meloni, is scheduled for a June 2013 release.
Take Shelter, also starring Jessica Chastain, is in cinemas now.

:woot: Wonder how much he get's paid :p

I don't think "laidback" would be the right term. While he doesn't usually do action-y types of roles, his characters do tend to be quite intense or theatrical, so they can be somewhat physical in their own ways.

So if the motion capture suit that Shannon wears turns out to be something resembling this, would you guys be happy about it?

I wonder if the other motion capture suit individuals will also sport something similar to this look as well.

Sure would be happy to see Zods battle armor look something like this onscreen! :woot:

I can't wait to go see Take Shelter as well. I'm hearing he may even have a legit shot at winning the best actor award.

Either that link doesn't work, or it doesn't work from my phone.

Can you just post whatever it is? Or PM me the link?
