Switch The Official Nintendo Switch|2 Thread - Part 2

If the mini version has better battery, and you can still dock it to the TV, I'll trade it in for a mini.

The child proof version sounds like the final nail in the 3ds.

RUMOR: The New Nintendo Switch Model Will Borrow Ideas From The Nintendo 3DS
Recently a rumor has been doing the rounds claiming that Nintendo will be offering a budget version of the Nintendo Switch, and today we have some more information about this.Read more

I don't care about JoyCons. I've never split up and played co-op portably. Hell, I can't if I tried, cause I did the dpad mod on my left JoyCon.

But we'll see. The rumors are the mini will be more "child proof", and you wont be able to dock it or hook it up to your TV. It'll just be portable, and it'll try to phase out the 3DS. If you can't dock it to your TV, I wont get it.

Watch As The Nintendo Minute Crew Play CUPHEAD On The Nintendo Switch

Everyone was caught off guard when they got to see that first trailer announcing Cuphead for the Nintendo Switch, as it is probably one of the most out of left field announcements to ever come out from Nintendo, or even Studio MDHR; the ones who developed the game.

The acclaimed run-and-gun from Studio MDHR has been met with nothing but praise from critics and general audiences, so it is more than likely that the game will be as well-received when it finally makes its way into the Nintendo Switch on the 18th of April.

As we get closer to the game's release date, players have been wanting to finally see how the game runs on the Switch, and thankfully they'll now have their chance — as the Nintendo Minute crew give us our first look at Cuphead running perfectly on Nintendo's handheld hybrid console.

Take a look:

Cuphead is a classic run-and-gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.

Cuphead will be available for the Nintendo Switch on the 18th of April.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
is one of the many titles in the Final Fantasy series that Square Enix announced last year; with the original game caming out for the PlayStation 2 all the way back in May of 2006.

This new game is a remastered version of the original Zodiac Age, featuring some updated graphics such as enhanced textures and shadowing effects. The game is not only getting an HD upgrade, but the developers have also tweaked with the game's mechanics in order to make it feel more like a current game.

As if that wasn't enough, Square Enix has also revealed that the game is now featuring re-recorded BGM with live performances, which can be freely switched back to the game's original soundtrack; making it a treat for fans who want the same original experience.

Today, we got some gameplay footage for Square Enix's Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, running on the Nintendo Switch, taken from the PAX East event. There is no sound, however, since it seems that there was an audio issue with the demo station for the Switch, but it will still give you a good idea of what the game looks like on Nintendo's console.

Take a look:

Enter an era of war within the world of Ivalice. The small kingdom of Dalmasca, conquered by the Archadian Empire, is left in ruin and uncertainty. Princess Ashe, the one and only heir to the throne, devotes herself to the resistance to liberate her country. Vaan, a young man who lost his family in the war, dreams of flying freely in the skies. In a fight for freedom and fallen royalty, join these unlikely allies and their companions as they embark on a heroic adventure to free their homeland.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will be available for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One on the 30th of April.

The month of March is almost over and the Nintendo Switch got quite the bunch of great games over its course. In case some players may have missed out on some of these releases, Nintendo has released a new video highlighting some of these games.

First things first, the Nintendo 3DS also gets some love by getting Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, a fun port of the Kirby's Epic Yarn game for the Wii. It is also mentioning the fact that Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn is the last title that Nintendo will be publishing for the 3DS.

The indie scene is going strong on the Nintendo Switch, tiwh titles like Treasure Stack, Valley, Assault Android Cactus+, Baba is You, Blaster Master Zero 2, Nuclear Throne, and Xenon Racer. Some other titles include The Caligula Effect: Overdose, Unravel Two, Final Fantasy VII, and Nintendo's very own Yoshi's Crafted World — which released just today.

Great news for Amazon Prime subscribers who also happen to have a Twitch account, as Nintendo and Amazon have recently partnered to give Twitch Prime subscribers on free year of Nintendo Switch Online services.

This new free service will allow Twitch Prime users to get a free three-month membership; once this time expires, and after 60 days, subscribers will be able to get the other nine remaining months of their free year Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

People who are already subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online can also benefit from this new partnership, as they can get the extra free months added to whatever Switch Online plan they currently have.

It is worth mentioning that the Nintendo Switch Online service is only $19.99 for a whole year, while Amazon Prime currently costs $119 for one year of subscription, so it is definitely a godd deal for those Twitch Prime subscribers who are still on the fence about getting a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Twitch reveals that Prime subscribers can redeem their three-month subscription until the 28th of September and until the 28th of January of next year to go for the remaining 9 months.

With a Nintendo Switch Online* membership, you’ll get access to online play in compatible games, a growing catalog of classic NES™ titles with newly added online play, and cloud backup for your save data in compatible games.

Nintendo Switch Online is currently available.

Best Buy internal system lists The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Persona 5 for Switch
Published 5 hours ago. 147 comments.
New Switch announcements due soon?

Switch-Best-Buy_04-02-19.jpg

Best Buy’s internal CoreBlue system has listed The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Persona 5 for Switch.

News first broke when Twitter user MysticDistance posted an Imgur link of screenshots taken from a “Persona 5 – Nintendo Switch” listing in Best Buy’s CoreBlue system.

Twitter user Wario64, who regularly tweets video game-related deals, was able to confirm the listing is in the CoreBlue system.

Wario64 soon followed up with updates revealing that both Metroid Prime Trilogyand The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past are listed.

The SKUs for all three titles are within close range of each other, only being a few numbers off, meaning that they were likely all added to the system one after the other. One of the in-between SKUs is Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S – Definitive Edition.

Here is a break down of each product listing:

  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was originally released for Super Nintendo in 1991 and was ported to Game Boy Advance in 2002. A Virtual Console version was released for Wii U in January 2014 and New 3DS in April 2016. That said, this listing is probably the strangest of the batch, being that Nintendo recently announced a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for Switch.
  • Metroid Prime Trilogy has been rumored for Switch in the past, with Game Informer’s Imran Khan saying in January that development on the collection is “long done” and that it was originally “supposed to be announced [in December 2018].”

Gematsu has reached out to Best Buy for comment and is awaiting a response.

Atlus brand manager discusses Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, potential of Persona 3 and 4 remasters, more
Published 11 hours ago. 110 comments.
"Our biggest challenge now is to release a game which goes beyond the height of Persona 5."

Atlus-Naoto-Hiraoka-GNN_04-04-19.jpg

At Taipei Game Show 2019 in January, Atlus brand owner Naoto Hiraoka spoke to Taiwanese website GNN Gamer regarding the company’s current and future games lineup. The interview was published today.

Here are a few key tidbits, translated by Persona Central:

  • There are currently no plans for Atlus to work more closely with Sega’s properties in the future, but the groups are in close communication with each other which has allowed for things like Yakuza and Sonic costumes in Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight and such.

  • Persona 5 sales have topped 2.4 million copies worldwide.

  • In the future, Atlus is targeting simultaneous releases for Japan and the Asian market.

  • Regarding Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: “Joker will participate in Super Smash Bros. mainly because of the invitation from Sora Ltd.’s Masahiro Sakurai. That is what led to this collaboration. Because Mr. Sakurai likes Persona 5 very much, and I personally like Super Smash Bros. a lot, my first thought when I received the invitation was ‘Great!’ I was very happy to establish a relationship for this collaboration.”

  • Regarding if Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate means Persona 5 will be released for Switch: “We don’t have a specific answer to give for that question, but I personally think that the Nintendo Switch is a very attractive platform.”

  • Regarding the potential of Catherine becoming a series: “We need to observe players’ reactions before thinking about the next step.”

  • Shin Megami Tensei V is still under development. However, because this is Atlus’ first time tackling Nintendo Switch game development, there are many things to consider. How to present the game is our future challenge, so please wait patiently for follow-up news.”

  • Studio Zero’s Project Re Fantasy is “going smoothly.”

  • Regarding Atlus’ future challenges: “Because Persona 5 is a game which has achieved greatly, our biggest challenge now is to release a game which goes beyond the height of Persona 5, including the just mentioned Project Re Fantasy, as well as some new projects which have not yet been announced. I hope that we can strive for excellence and to achieve results beyond Persona 5.”

  • Regarding the potential of remastering Persona 3 and Persona 4: “Although we can’t specifically tell you anything at the moment, we have always received a lot of suggestions from the players. We have received and understood the voices of the players, and if there is an opportunity, we will actively discuss it.”

I'd recommend it. Once you sub to it you get all those NES games and the actual cost of the yearly is dirt cheap compared to all the other platforms, save for PC. I play a ton of Mario Kart online so the subscription is worth it to me. The NES games are a nice bonus too and they're adding new stuff all the time.

I plan on getting it once Battle for the Grid's bugs are fixed.

I'm a big fan of those VR/AR technologies too. But I have already discovered Computer Vision software Development . It's just unreal how developers make computers understand visual information and implement methods for acquiring, handling, analyzing, and imitating programmed sketches, and the removal of details from reality in order to present symbolic info.

So although I was a Nintendo gamer in my childhood (NES, SNES, Gameboy, N64, etc) and have dabbled in some Xbox in recent years, I'm fairly out of touch. My son will be 6 in a few months and has his heart set on a Nintendo Switch for his birthday, I'll probably get him a few games along with it. Anyone any recommendations for decent child friendly games? He loves Mario so I assume there is the token Mario platform game which will be kid friendly but would like a couple more to complement it.

Oh, there is plenty for Mario fans. Mario Odyssey is more than a token Mario game, it is one of the best games on they system. Highly recommended. Super Mario Party, Mario Tennis Aces, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are also good options for Mario games. New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe is also there if you want some 2d Mario action.

I would also look at some of the LEGO games, as those are great options for kids. They have a Marvel and a DC Superhero game for the system.

Get a bundled game: The Super Mario Odyssey or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ones would be the way to go and then buy him the other game along with Smash Bros., Yoshi's Crafted World, Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee ( if you want to introduce him to Pokémon), Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, and Kirby Star Allies.

It’s interesting his desk looks so messy. I would have thought highly successful managers would have very tidy desks.

Any one get cuphead? Today it came out. I bought it will be a few days before I have time to play it though with nba playoffs going on.

Sure did, it’s so cute but it’s true, it’s super hard. I’m just loving the art style.

I wonder when they will make a sequel? I wonder if they’ll make it easier?
