RUMOR: SCALEBOUND Could Be Revived As A Nintendo Switch Exclusive
A new rumor is doing the rounds suggesting that Platinum Games' cancelled Scalebound project could be revived as a Nintendo Switch exclusive game.Read more

Platinum was also working on that Granblue Fantasy RPG for PS4. but a few weeks ago, it was reported that their work on it had "come to an end" and that Cygames was going to finish it themselves.

so, maybe that frees up Platinum to work on another project like Scalebound.

As to grand blue the RPG game it true platinum was working on that and cygames weirdly took them off it to finish up them selves or do it all over again. the only reason the two Gran blue game are happening is due to the anime they put out last year which was dubbed in English and did so well they made the jump as an hand held & mobile thing to consoles.

BTW they said they are also looking to put that latter game and it' Gran blue fighter game out on pc & mobile too so it's like we'll see a ps 4 or 5 version of the game on the switch as well. maybe the same way Dragon quest 11 is happening with extra content like more characters esetra.

Yeah, gotta say, will very much miss Reggie, but happy that the man is able to retire. Ever since he first showed up at E3 and talked about kicking ass and taking names, he, combined with Iwata and Miyamoto, had this momentum that brought this energy to Nintendo that we hadn't really seen for awhile. Even at subsequent E3 and Nintendo Directs, and the Smash tournaments, Reggie was the man.

But like many have no doubt said, his body is now ready. To retire. All the best to him. And we now welcome our Bowser overlord.

Good on him. Pretty rare for management to leave and have a wave of goodwill on twitter. He was a good guy.

An omen indeed.

Also there's now rumors that Microsoft is making an Xbox app and Xbox Game Pass for the Switch.
we know it's the page over both sith & silver moth to notice after I put the news of that up.

Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime will retire after more than 15 years at Nintendo and nearly 13 years in his current role on April 15, Nintendo announced. Doug Bowser, the company’s current senior vice president of sales and marketing, will succeed Reggie as the new president.

Get the full press release below.

After more than 15 notable years at Nintendo of America, and nearly 13 as its President and COO, Reggie Fils-Aime will retire. His last day with Nintendo will be April 15. Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s current Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will then succeed Reggie as President of Nintendo of America.

“I really appreciate everything Reggie has done for Nintendo,” said Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo Co., Ltd. “Inside and outside our company, Reggie is known as an exceptional leader. We are grateful that he is leaving the business in good shape with strong momentum. While we will miss him and we wish him the very best in his retirement, we are also pleased to have such an able successor ready to step into that role. Doug Bowser and the rest of the team will ensure a seamless transition and continued momentum for Nintendo.”

“Nintendo owns a part of my heart forever,” Fils-Aime said. “It’s a part that is filled with gratitude—for the incredibly talented people I’ve worked with, for the opportunity to represent such a wonderful brand, and most of all, to feel like a member of the world’s most positive and enduring gamer community. As I look forward to departing in both good health and good humor, this is not ‘game over’ for me, but instead ‘leveling up’ to more time with my wife, family, and friends.”

“It has been my great fortune to work with and be mentored by Reggie for four years at Nintendo of America,” Bowser said. “And rest assured, we will continue to build on his work to evolve and expand our brand, furthering Nintendo’s global mission of creating smiles. There are millions more of those to come.”

Fils-Aime started at Nintendo of America in 2003 as its Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and became its President and COO in May 2006. His time with Nintendo began during the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance era. His leadership of Nintendo’s largest territory expanded the audience for Nintendo products as phenomena like Nintendogs, Brain Age, Wii Sports, and Wii Fit brought millions of new players to the world of video games. Fils-Aime’s management led to record-breaking sales for products like the Nintendo DS, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch systems. At the same time, he communicated innovative new product features to a mass audience via his strong and affable personality, making him a favorite of media, members of the video game industry and Nintendo fans alike.

During his tenure, Nintendo of America has expanded its physical presence in the U.S., having established a key sales and marketing office in Redwood City, California, and built a new Nintendo of America headquarters in Redmond, Washington, that has received awards for its environmentally friendly design.

Bowser is an industry veteran who joined Nintendo of America in May 2015 as the Vice President of Sales before being promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing the next year. During his time at Nintendo of America, Bowser led the sales and marketing efforts for Nintendo Switch, which became the fastest-selling video game system of this hardware generation through 21 months, according to The NPD Group. Previously, Bowser was an executive with industry powerhouse Electronic Arts, most recently as the company’s Vice President of Global Business Planning. He also worked at Procter & Gamble in various sales leadership roles in Asia, Latin America and the U.S.

All of this Microsoft and Nintendo being buddy buddy really hints at Scalebound going back into development.

Along with Gamepass, it is being hinted that Ori and the Blind Forest and Cuphead are coming to the Switch. And hinting that a major Microsoft franchise will hit the Switch.

But it's making me wonder if MS is bowing out of the console race.

I think they believe a physical console isn't necessary.

I suppose if google do make a console Microsoft are kind of like “well that’s us done”.

Kind of a shame, I think there should be as many players as possible in the console space but I guess it’s a big investment

Nintendo and Sony duopoly... I'm not sure Google's cloud console will do much unless they have some killer IPs. I know Sega fans are going to clamor for them to return.

Yeah. Still, maybe apple will have a console too? Who knows. Yeah you need lots of players. I wonder if a chinese company like baidu or alibaba would jump into the space?

Resident Evil 0 (Steam)
About

Be prepared to relive the first nightmare in Resident Evil 0, a remastered version of the popular prequel to the original Resident Evil game. This remastered version takes the fear-inducing atmosphere from the original 2002 release and transforms it with stunning new HD visuals, improved sound, widescreen support and an optional modernized control system and more. It’s the best way to experience the story of what really happened before the iconic mansion incident that was the catalyst for the entire Resident Evil saga.

The story of Resident Evil 0 takes players back to 1998. Reports have been mounting about unusual murders on the outskirts of Raccoon City. The city’s Special Forces division, S.T.A.R.S., sends their Bravo Team – including rookie cop member Rebecca Chambers – to investigate. On route, the team’s helicopter suffers engine trouble and is forced to make a crash landing, where they find an overturned prisoner transport vehicle. Splitting up to search the area, Rebecca discovers the Ecliptic Express, a train stopped dead on the tracks. Inside, she meets death row convict and ex-Navy lieutenant Billy Coen. Throughout the game, you will take control of both Rebecca and Billy, at times switching between both characters in order to proceed. Learning the advantages of each character is the key to solving puzzles and surviving the nightmares that lie ahead.

Key Features

  • Return to the series origins – Discover the truth behind what led to the horrors at the Mansion in Resident Evil in this fan-favorite and popular prequel title to the series.
  • Completely enhanced visuals – New high-resolution textures have been created from scratch, including 1080p support on next-gen consoles, while still preserving the classic appearance of the original release.
  • Fully remastered sound effects – 5.1 channel surround support provides a more experiential gaming atmosphere that best matches players’ listening environments.
  • Experience the horror in the classic 4:3 ratio or newly added 16:9 widescreen mode.
  • Play with the classic control scheme, or enjoy a new alternative scheme where the character moves in the direction of an analogue stick.
  • Fan-favorite Resident Evil characters – Rookie S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers and wanted criminal Billy Coen combine skills and buddy up to survive the undead and infected nightmares that await them.
  • Wesker Mode – After completing the main storyline, you will be able to take control of series antagonist Albert Wesker, and use his superhuman abilities to power through the missions.

Finding his way to a rural village in Europe, he faces new threats that are a departure from the traditional lumbering zombie enemies of the earlier installments in the series. Leon battles horrific new creatures infested by a new threat called Las Plagas and faces off against an aggressive group of enemies including mind-controlled villagers that are tied to Los Illuminados, the mysterious cult which is behind the abduction.
