I hated him in his brief stint in DMC (hell even before that, I hated him in From Hell where he essentially played the same character).
Killing the two cute Asian women only compounded it, after he killed the first sister I was hoping the second one would off him.
If Davy didn't give him the most violent death in the films, I think his survival alone would've made me hate the movie.

Wasn't that really his coronation than a wedding?

I agree. The entire final battle should have been fought with ALL the ships not just 2 and Norrington should have pulled rank on Beckett and attacked him, turning the tide.

Yes, there should've been more than two ships in the battle while the rest sat there watching.

Eh, I hated him in From Hell aswell. He always seems to play the most unlikeable character. lol

I saw the movie a few days ago, it's a nice end to the trilogy. Davy Jones is ****ing awesome. And Barbossa to.

it would have been cool if more ships fought, but i guess that is how they fought in that time. ship at a time.
No. It was lazy storytelling and pretty pointless.

What was the point of the Pirate brethren? To bring all the pirates together and bring them to war only for them to sit on the sidelines?

This could have been a HUGE battle on the sea with the Dutchman and the Pearl in the malestrom as the climax of the film. :down

That was how I saw it since only the Pearl and the Dutchman were fighting. If the other pirates had joined in on the fight then the EITC ships would have joined in. Still I loved the final battle/wedding.

Some of my fav. quotes:

Gibbs: Look alive, men! It's not for naught it's called Shipwreck Island--where lie Shipwreck Cove in the town of Shipwreck!

Jack Sparrow: You know, for all that pirates are clever-called, we are an unimaginative lot when it comes to naming things.

Gibbs: Like?

Jack Sparrow: I once sailed with a geezer lost both his arms and part of his eye.

Gibbs: What did you call him?

Jack Sparrow: ....Larry.

------

Barbossa: It's been a while, Jack. Isle De Muerta. You shot me.

Jack Sparrow: ....No I didn't.

------

Jack Sparrow: It is pronounced *egregious*.

"Yes that dress does make you look fat" haha that was a classic scene...then he slaps gibbs lol

also....

"HOIST THE COLORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" i got chills the first time i saw this scene, cause i was like oh yes, these 100 pirates ships are about to raise some hell against 1000 EITC ships....then it was a one on one maelstrom. now if only both fleets were actually fighting id crap myself.

DE you prob know more about the deleted scenes than anyone, but i heard theres a scene where Barbossa, Elizabeth, Will, and a couple others (gibbs etc) look up and see Jack fighting Davy on top of the mast jsut absolutely shocked, and Barbossa says "For Jack..." and the rest say "aye...aye..." and start the swinging on ropes across the maelstrom... i hope thats a true scene, it would be fantastic.

also i forgot to add....i saw Transformers....it was f***in awesome. even though Optimus Prime didnt do crap in the last fight. So...#2 movie so far this summer. At World's End was well, AWEsome. still #1. Both movies were great. im hoping for more Pirates and more Autobots.

Ahhh yes, famous Jack Sparrow quotes. You just made my day. I really cant wait for this movie to be out on dvd.

I can wait for it.

I will get it still, but it won't be a DVD I frequent.

Following on from the Quotes, here's some of my fav's:
Elizabeth: You can fight! [steps forward and one man grabs her shoulder and she shakes free of him] Get off me! You are Sao Feng, the pirate lord of Singapore! Would you have that era come to an end on your watch? The most notorious pirates from around the world are uniting against our enemy, and yet you sit here, cowering in your bath water!

Beckett: The Brethren know they face extinction. All that remains is for them to decide where they make their final stand

Beckett: I'm sorry to hear that, because I will. Because it seems to be the only way to ensure that this ship do as directed by the company. We need prisoners to interrogate, which tends to work best when they're alive.
Davy: The Dutchman sails as its captain commands.
Beckett: And its captain is to sail it as commanded. I thought you would have learned that when I ordered you to kill your pet. This is no longer your world, Jones. The immaterial has become...immaterial.

Jack: It will all have to be redone, all of it! And let that serve as a lesson to the lot of you! Doldrums sir, has the whole crew on edge. I have absolutely no sympathy for any of you fecculant maggots. And no patience to pretend otherwise. Gentlemen, I wash my hands of this weirdness!

Jack: William, tell me something. Have you come because you need my help to rescue a certain distressing damsel? Or rather a damsel in distress? Either one.
Will No.
Jack: Then you wouldn't be here. So you can't be here. Q.E.D. you're not really here.

Barbossa: Still thinking of running, Jack? Think you can outrun the world? You know, the problem with being the last of anything, is by and by, there be none left at all.
Jack: Sometimes, things come back, mate. We're living proof, you and me.
Barbossa: Aye, but that's a gamble of long odds, ain't it? There's never a guarantee of coming back, but passing on, that's dead certain.
Jack: Summoning the Brethren Court, then, is it?
Barbossa: It's our only hope, lad.
Jack: That's a sad commentary in and of itself.
Barbossa: The world used to be a bigger place.
Jack: The world's still the same. There's just less in it.

Norrington: Our destinies have been entwined, Elizabeth...but never joined

Beckett: The enemy has opted for oblivion. Ready the fleet.

Elizabeth: You're right. Then what shall we die for? [to crew] You will listen to me. Listen! The brethren will still be looking here to us, to the Black Pearl to lead, and what will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? No! They will see free men, and freedom. And what the enemy will see is the flash of our cannons, they will hear the ring of our swords and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brows, and the strength of our backs, and the courage of our hearts...gentlemen, hoist the colors!

Jack: Keep telling yourself that, darlin'. [Elizabeth moves to kiss him and he holds up his hands to stop her] Once was quite enough

Jack: That, love, is a dinghy. My vessel is magnificent, and fierce, and huge-ish, and....gone. Why is it gone?

And then I love the Parlay scene and loads of others! lol

Can someone in short tell me if this trilogy is worth finishing? I loved the first, saw the second in the theatre and liked it. I liked the second the same way I liked Matrix Reloaded. I enjoyed it but I couldn't get myself to watch it again. I hear the third is bloated way more than the second was. Is this true, and if so is it still enjoyable. Just wondering if it's worth my time.

Yeah course it is, and if you liked the 1st and enjoyed the second, then you might as well see it. Short enough? lol

As someone who isn't really a huge fan of the series. The 3rd was definitely better than the 2nd if that helps you.
