Really, I don't like the sound of that, means it might be a rushed film.

My hype for POTC3 is gone now, I lost my interest to it.

BTW, Disney's marketing strategy sucks, it has no promotion :down

Damn that really sucks, I'm still optimistic about the film though :(

They didn't have a complete script for the second....oh wait.

Hehe. From what I understand is they give an outline for the actors t oadlib off of, mostly Depp. While this may work for a Will Ferrell comedy, I hope there is a little more constraint to it than painted by the screenwriters. I read the screenplay (the first half of it nayway) for the third film and it did seem kind of empty other htan describing where scenes take place and how they should pace, so I hope the actors bring more life to it than is on the page then.

There is nothing unusual about not having a completed script before filiming begins. When they were filming LOTR they were getting the lines for scenes they were filming that day.

Im still hyped a hell.

Relax. That's not uncommon with big sequels. I read that Spider-Man 2 had the same problem, and it turned out fine.

Its not due out until May 25th so you guys need to relax. Trust me martketing will pick up. All movies touch up film scripts its the purpose of reshoots and such. All movies have them. Why can you guys not fathum half the movie was filmed during pirates 2. Half which means more to do. All this worry over a teaser trailer. The better one would not be released until March or April.

Yeah, some of you need to relax. The movie is very far away right now.

No offence but I recall saying they hadn't finished writing it by they started filming...but then again I am terribly deprived of sleep so sorry if I am wrong about the comment, but yeah that's what I was implying...or hoping to imply...

where you may be correct is that because DMC, and AWE where written as one movie, the script may not have been completed, but the stuff they needed for DMC was done before they started shooting, and they worked the stuff for AWE out during that. I know they say they finished the script in the knick of time alot on the documentaries on the dvd. You really should get the dvd and here the actual people who wrote it, talk about it before making claims of that nature

But yeah, someone else said they are worried AWE is being rushed, when in fact it isn't cause they have been in production of AWE for over 2 years, and wrapped filiming over the summer if I am not mistaken (I could be wrong but that is what I remember) so I wouldn't worry to much

For me personally seeing Barbossa walk down the stairs, and hearing Tia Dalma chant "If you wish to brave the wierd and haunted shores, at World's End" is more than enough to keep me hyped. I work at a video store, and I pretty much watch Curse of the black pearl, Batman Begins, and DMC everyday, and everytime I see that at the end of DMC I cannot wait for AWE.

Side note-

I know some people give DMC a tone of flack for poor writting, watching the two back to back really makes me actually appreciate the writting, it is insanely clevar how in DMC they bring up even the most subtle things that happen in Curse. And how Jacks past is hinted at in both movies, brought a little more to the center in DMC. I think Jacks past will play a decent role in AWE, just a hunch

It may reference the first, but it lacks structure or a plot. Outside of Will's scenes with his father it really doesn't attempt to deepen or engage the characters in anyway (other than sex teases between Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley).

Now it is a Disney sequel, so I am not expecting The Godfather Part II here. But the first set a standard the second failed to meet.

I am still hopeful for the third though and don't mind the marketing is slower. They're probably just waiting for the superbowl which is fine. After the second movie being such a huge hit and ending on a cliffhanger theyh can afford to coast for a few more months than the distinguished competition. Sony is trying hard on the other hand to build the hype for Spidey aboiling pot about to explode at any given minute. Notice the slow build to Venom.

Harry Potter is taking a similar approach to Pirates. They know that there movie is a built-in hit so they put out a sloppy bad teaser and nobody cares because it is going to be huge. The only campaign that needs an awesome trailer now are the Transformers....which sold themselves well for their core target (big 'splosions and robots) and FF2 (given the negativity that has grown public after the first film.). Only time will tell though.

What I ask is deep or engaging about the first, that is so vastly superior to the second?

Off the top of my head the symbolism in him being a blacksmith, but besides that I don't think anything

Sure DMC is not quite what Curse was, but this crap that there is no plot, or whatever is bull

I think Pirates might be the first film in which one of the heroes actually kills another hero to save the other hero... If that isn't a change in character I don't know what is. Add to that, Jack came back at the end to help fight the Kraken. And, Will felt completely betrayed at the end. I think you should watch them back to back. There is a lot of change going with these characters.

If that trailer transcript is right, do you think the kraken tenticles around Norringtons ship will be bringing him to his doom, or do you think he is Now in controll of the Kraken?

I think the second one would be really ****ing cool if they do that

The teaser for DMC was pretty good but the theatrical was better. Pirates come up with great trailers. Better then Harry Potters. In that respect the second harry potter trailers are usually pretty good.

They can build up the hype all they want to for Spiderman 3 the fact however is Shrek 3 and Pirates 3 are still in the same month. Spiderman looks cool but its had 3 years to work on things. If its not good by now its not gonna be.

I am glad for you.

But please, don't think that I am not hyped for 3rd movie, because I didn't like 2nd.

Actually, I liked it. Yeah script could be better, but there was all this fun and action, which got me excited.

Two weeks later I bought it on DVD and... I realized that it was clearly unwatchable. It bored me at the beginning of 2nd act.

Then I started thinking how will I like 3rd movie, if 2nd wasn't so good after 2nd time I saw it.

That's what i think about all this...

POTC Sequels=The Matrix Sequels.

Then, I lost interest to what will happen in next movie.

Don't blame me, but that's really IMO.

yes it is your opinion, Cinemaman, and you are entirely entitled this.

My entitled opinion just happens to be this trilogy is better than the Matrix trilogy and there will be no comparisons between the two. I hate it when people do that.

Comparisions? Comon, atleast watch the third before you say its going to suck.

There's some major differances in these movies than the Matrix's, there better.

The thing that disappointed me about DMC is the lack of payoff for the Davey Jones' plot in the ending. The threat should end at the end of a movie. You can continue a story, leave it on a cliffhanger, but at least end the threat introduced in the movie. Davey Jones' just sailed away?!?! I know Norrington has the heart now, but there needed to be more of a payoff.

Davey Jones plays a huge part in the third.
