I personally think the acting, while not being academy award winning, was quite good, especially Jones, and the writting fantastic

Depp was terrible and none of the characters were actually characters, they were just pathetic. There was no development or heart. The writing is very predictable, you can find yourself knowing exactly what is going to happen next, down to the exact words and everything.

well it was a thread about the the next movie, so I was merel voicing my concerns over the film, and stating what they should do to make the film an improvement.

Lol i was harsh i admit but while your posting in this thread ...could you tell me some more about the magician? I saw it on your webpage a while ago and it intrigued me. How did you get into directing anyway? I've always been interested in film production but I dont know many in the business...if you would like to reply..which i understand if you don't could you P.m me just so we dont spam up the boards?


By the way i was wondering if anyone else saw the Japanese sailing barge in the special features on the Pirates 2 dvd. It looked pretty sweet.

There performance is no differant then before. They are the same characters. Its simple you either liked them or you don't. Its to bad for you that you didn't. People takes these films too seriously for they are ment to be fun pop corn flicks.

I am a 100% pirates nut I am a bit obsessed with seeing Pirates 3 but i can respect opinions its just well if you don't like it why put so much effort into posting on it where you know most like them. Even ones who liked Pirates 1 better had some fun with it.

However if you liked Pirates 1 but felt stuff missing in Pirates 2. I think Babossa back will bring back some of the magic he braught to the first movie.

while true, barbossa personifies a Pirate, and was awesome, the performance of Davy Jones was uncanany, and remarkable, i think he is in the same leauge with barbossa, just not quite as high

No way there is but one Barbossa. Its just that Jones is woser for Barbossa did live by a certain code. He could have killed Jack but instead he made him walk the plank. Barbossa and Gibbs is our special treat into the Treasure island pirates with arr stuff which is great. No question Bill Nighy was brilliant but there is but one Barbossa.

I'm going to have to agree with you there. The academy even nominated Depp for his acting in the first one so there must be some good there.

Depp's character had no development like he did in the second, it was like watching the same bit again, but with less effort, like where goldmember used THE EXACT same jokes as austin powers 2

(But i have higher hopes for POTC 3 as it has keith richards and I can forget POTC 2 and consider is a set-up movie)

Well it's a highly believable and actually scary villain, had a dream about him and everything, not to mention it being a hugely superior film

Johnny Depp said he would like to return for a fourth and because of the huge success of the DVD of Dead Man's Chest, Bruckheimer has started making the fourth one. Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom have been reported saying they will not return for a fourth. My cousin told me he read in a magazine that Will dies. I would take that as a grain of salt though. There have also been rumours circulating on the web of a prequel about Jack, Davyy Jones, Bootstrap, Jack Sr. and Barbossa. One thing is certain, there will be a FOURTH Pirate of the Caribbean!
