i know, but i read in couple of posts that the writers said that if your woman is faithful after those 10 years that the curse is lifted, which sounds pretty stupid to me.

Calypso was utterly pointless in this movie. And Davy Jones was a tool. I couldn't believe they messed up those two so badly. It's like the writers had no idea how to resolve it right.

Depp signs on for fourth Pirates flick

Though Johnny Depp sailed to glory with At World's End, the film failed to match the performance of its predecessor.

Captain Jack Sparrow fans take heart – Johnny Depp will be back for a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

The actor recently admitted that he hasn’t yet had his fill of the role of the quirky pirate, and that given the right script, he would love to do a fourth, or even a fifth, movie.

“I’ve never really felt I’m done with playing the ch+aracter, so why shouldn’t we try a fourth and a fifth? If I were approached to play Captain Jack again, under the right circumstances you know, with all the right and proper elements involved and a good script, I would definitely give it some serious thought,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.

And, FreezeDriedMovies.com has confirmed that Depp has signed on for a fourth flick.

However, what isn’t clear at the moment, whether the next ‘Pirates’ movie will be a prequel or a spin-off.

And now that the news is out that the actor will be back as Captain Jack, fans can watch the third and final movie in the current trilogy Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, without having to despair over the fact that they will never get to see Depp as this character on the big screen again.

they all said that the dutchman needs a captain and someone must guide the spirits, so if the curse could be over like that, then who would be the next captain?

His father? Who knows? they could always put wills heart back and Bootstraps in the box. Or... they could always just blow up the dutchman and the curse would be lifted, no ship = no captain

I actually really liked her and Davy Jone's story, the scene with Tia Dalma in the cage when Davy Jones comes to her is very emotional. I liked the bittersweet ending to their story and relationship.

I think Bootstrap would have to stab Will's heart than place his own in the chest for him to be captain.

I doubt he'd do that to his son.

The way I understood it was that in cutting out his heart Jones tied himself to the ship permanently which would mean that for someone to tkae his place they would have to do the same.

ok but it never said anything like that in the movie. so pretty much its a massive plot hole that fans try and cover up?
