I was playing Uncharted 2 just today, well all this week actually. But I think I actually love UDF the most because of the environment. I love the lush jungles and very Tomb Raider style the reminds me of the old days in a good way.

Mistyped in my earlier post. Meant to say that a lot of current pretty PC titles AREN'T truly nextgen titles yet, not are. Despite the visuals, because they are built to play on current consoles (which holds the titles back). Corrected it, but just wanted to clarify :woot:.

Uncharted 2 & 3 & God of War 3 were my PS3 favourites (although I didn't play Infamous..yet). Hope they continue those series throughout the next generation.

I also prefer 3rd person games to FP. I can't get into character when 1st person as I always think the game could be playing a trick on me and although I think I'm Master Chief it could later show that I was Tina Turner the whole time. If there's a good story I want to see the character I'm playing as.

I'm not big on FPS's anymore, but I'm fine with either view. I prefer 3rd person most of the time. Just shooting things in first person can get dull. Especially if the shooter leaves out the ability to take cover since that feature works better in 3rd person. However first person in an adventure game with exploring helps with immersion a lot. For example, I don't like playing Skyrim with the camera zoomed back in 3rd person mode, it just makes the game lose something for me.

You know it's funny, the games that really push a console's abilities generally don't come out until the console is near (or at) the end of its life.

So it'll probably be 2018 before we see a game that really pushes what the PS4 can handle.
That's what you'd expect right? Probably past 2020 judging by what people have said about the expected life of these new machines!

Well I am told that the PS3 was the least designer friendly console.

I'm sure that's learning process is a big part of it though. Either way it's going to take years for the best games to come out.

So I'll probably be picking up a PS3 this christmas. And a PS4, sometime around 2017.
Wow you really are patient!:woot:

I love having both options like Skyrim. If I have both options I use both a lot.

IA that Uncharted 2 was the best game in the franchise and I think ranks up there as one of the PS3's top 5 games
I've been having the bate in my head recently, and I think I'll finally change my opinion and say Uncharted 2 was the best. I have the scores for all three games and there's just something about the second one that makes me remember everything all over again because it was so good. Uncharted 3 was great in its own ways, but not as memorable in the long term.

Yeah, I never played an Elder Scrolls game before so I didn't have the same hype for Skyrim and most other people had, and when I saw it was first person, I didn't have interest. But after playing it and seeing it in third person, I finally got behind it, but I did go back and footh switching between the views. My favorite thing was shooting arrows and there was just something about that game that got it right and it looked great in First Person. I don't think I ever felt like more of a badass than when I would use it in stealth.

Yeah, they really up their game with the arrow skills in Skyrim, especially with the edition of the perk system.

That's nothing, two weeks ago I got a Dreamcast. I'm moving on up.

Next week he's finally moving past the VCR stage, and getting a DVD player. It's still too big a step to move past cassette tapes right now though, take it one step at a time. :woot:.

Nah, nothing wrong with adopting a console late. I didn't get an N64 until Gamecube was out, and didn't get a Gamecube until PS3 had been revealed. Sometimes you're just not in a rush.

And yeah, it wasn't so much a shooter as it was an adventure game, and I think that's the big thing I learned about FP games. While I was never a fan of them, I did learn to enjoy certain games like Skyrim and Deus Ex. But overall, I still prefer games where I can see my character, and if I can customize their looks, even better.
Yeah, the PS3 was harder for most developers to work on, hence why Skyrim for PS3 was so broken that they didn't try to do the DLC for it for a while.

But don't confuse "Best" with "Better". Right now I'm playing Mass Effect for the first time on PS3, and its pretty slid for a game that came out in 2007. But had I never played ME2 or ME3 prior to this, I'd probably rank it pretty high on my favorites list. Not to mention, a lot of people still view Uncharted 2 as the best game of the Franchise, and probably even the best game on PS3 ever, and that came out just about halfway into the console's life. It also doesn't hurt that its an exclusive, so Naughty Dog was designing it specifically for the PS3 and wasn't having to worry about creating two separate but similar versions for different consoles.

I never got into Skyrim, the game seemed unbalanced at times with difficulty, thought with the Legendary edition I might give it another go.
I'm also playing Mass Effect one as I got the trilogy to play it as a whole after falling in love with the series in 2.

The Uncharted series is still something I go back and play from time-to-time, the original still holds up today graphics wise.

Uncharted 2 is probably the best game for the time it came out on PS3. Like I think Mass Effect 2 is the best of that trilogy for its time.

That IA with as well. I also thought Killzone 2 was the best. I did find myself liking the second entries of several trilogies this gen the best. Ditto on Resistance 2

Yeah and the incredible-looking Warframe from Digital Extremes will be coming at launch as well.

That's seriously brilliant news - DC will live on and two high-calibur shooters will be available on the system for free, one of which on launch day. For me this is one of the most exciting announcements yet.

If Sony gets smart, and holds 1 or 2 sales worthy of Steam a year on the PSN store, they will rule this generation.

Awesome news about planetside 2 looks like Sony is stickin with free to play

With The Last of Us coming out the day after E3 ends, I gotta think that Sony is planning some major announcements and incentives for to show their continued support of the PS3. I mean, normally E3 brings hype for games that are months away, so it interesting to see what they'll have in store for the immediate future, considering how TLOU is currently in the top 5 of best games on the PS3 on Metacritic.

The PS4 now has 3 F2P games. Planetside 2, DC Universe Online and Warframe. I hope they add Marvel Heroes to the mix. What other F2P games would be a good fit on the PS4?

I'd love to get my hands on Marvel Heroes.

I hope we can play F2P games as they get installed and stuff,Literally took me about 5 hrs or so before I could finally actually play the game!!
