Yeah.

It's like people say how the 360 won last gen.. I always point out the PS3 has more units sold. If that's what we're supposed to go by te PS3 won. Did I game mostly in my 360 last gen? Yes.. But that's easy to say. I do think the One is going to narrow the gap.. It could even catch up in the States...but I don't think it's ever going to outsell the PS4.

It was always too late, it was never going to outsell the ps4. Anyone who paid attention last gen would see that. Sony is just more popular in more markets. Simple as that. I do expect the gap to narrow, but the end of this gen will be like last, with Sony having the edge in units sold.

I still think you are too "panicky" when it comes to the PS4 though. Its got a sizable lead and historically, Sony has done better in territories outside of the States, where as MS, doesnt do as well. I don't think one server attack is gonna really change much.

I told you my stance on things, about how both xbone and Ps4 are dope, xbone even has some things that make it better but overall I think the Ps4 is better and I want it to win. so it's up to you & whoever else to decide whether I'm a fanboy or not

OK the thing is, it is still very early on this generation. What was the install base of the 360 when the Ps3 launched? I'm sure the gap was huge, but sony WAS still able to close it, even though it took the entire generation cycle, they were able to pull it off.

There's only a 5 million gap right now between the two consoles now... and arguably, the xbone has the better games.

what? to date, the 360 and Ps3 have both sold about 80 million consoles. even if one of the console sold a few million more, I'd call that a tie. there was no clear cut winner between sony & microsoft last gen and nintendo was #1.

HOWEVER, something else that was clear was that the 360 had way higher attach rates.

so stealing? How is that any different than someone going into a store, taking items that dont belong to them and then distributing to others? You'd be potentially screwing over the gamers that legitimately paid for those codes

If you want to be a hacker and help, work on methods to counter malicious hackers, especially the ones that are trying to steal money from people's bank accounts or go crazy on their credit cards and amazon and ebay accounts. You can probably make an honest buck out of it too if you do it as a job.

If we could redo everything in a vacuum, no way in hell the PS4 jumps out to a 5 million unit lead. None. The two consoles are just too similar. oh, I don't disagree with you on that. PS4 "won" because the X1 shot itself in the face.

but, as you said, MS is still feeling the effects of their blunder, even after they've reversed course on pretty much everything. Now, the 2 consoles are even more alike. The main difference is that the PS4 has slightly more powerful hardware. And that's the one thing the X1 can't easily overcome. Unless they redesign the console with better hardware specs, the X1 will always be the slightly inferior console - hardware power wise.

So, if one was trying to decide between getting the PS4 or the X1, with all things being pretty much equal, why would you choose the less powerful one?

In that case, it will come down to games, features, and the overall "experience."

My only issue with Sony is hardware at the moment.

The PS4 should have had a power brick. Yeah it's annoying, but it prevents overheating. Also, with need USB media support, and external hard drive support.

Nah I think being $100 less expensive is what led to the early lead for the PS4. The general public isnt as tuned as you might think they are in terms of what the X1 originally set out to do. They literally started changing their policies within 2 weeks of E3. By the time it launched 5 months later, most of that stuff had been rectified and the average person going to buy a system wasnt going to be holding policies which never materialized against it. All things equal, one was $100 more and it was as simple as that.

I bought a PS4 because I liked the exclusives that were on the PS3...more diversity than what Xbox tends to release and I think the same will be said of this current gen as well. I used to own a 360 and never played it. Don't like sports games or FPS....

I'd say the price difference was the biggest factor, but people shouldn't underestimate the Xbone's horrible announcement and DRM. I knew people who had never bought a console who had heard about that.

I've also met a number of people online and in real life who bought one just for that reason, and they had 360's.

That DRM stuff scared the **** out of people.

Even here, even now, you have people who think they can't play games offline.

my top request features, in order of importance:

USB Media Support ( and local media support )
Better UI Organization
Better Browser
External HDD Support
