as long as DA isn't delayed......or WWE 2K15......I'll be happy. :o

Eh, I honestly don't remember a lot of stuff for any system a year in. Not to say there was nothing period, but I'd say it takes about a good two years before a system's library starts filling out very well.
I know I didnt get a PS3 till that first price drop in summer of 2007. While there wasnt a whole lot on the system at that point, my purchase was justified as there were plenty of appealing games set to release that fall which I could only get on the PS3 as they weren't coming to my PS2

Heavenly Sword
Warhawk
Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Call of Duty IV: Modern Warfare
Folklore
Skate
Stuntman Ignition
Unreal Tournament 3

If I were in the same boat today, there is virutally nothing coming on the PS4 that I cant get on my PS3 except for Assassins Creed Unity and DriveClub.

Like honestly, of those games you mention, only Uncharted really stood out to me. HS and Folklore were alright, and COD deserves mention since it was starting to get big with MW, but I don't know, nothing there seems all that great. Maybe the R&C game, but I don't really remember Tools of Destruction?

That might be bc its been so long since you've touched them but back in 2007 they were very welcomed and very needed. They may not hold up as well today. My point though was the PS3 was in better shape gamewise than the PS4 bc it had good variety and offered experiences that to those that upgraded that they couldnt get from the PS2 before it.

I rememebr hearing from people when there wasnt alot shown at E3 last year, the response was just wait till Gamescom bc thats when we will see/hear stuff. Gamescom came and went and then it was, Sony just wants to focus on launch so they arent saying anything as to not take away from that. Launch came and went and then it was, we'll see a bunch of stuff at GDC......and now here we are at E3. I have no doubt we'll finally get some new game announcements, but it unfortunately wont be for this year. If anything, I can see more PS3 ports to try to boost the library up bc there isnt much in the pipeline that we dont know for later this year

yeah...if you're just talking about next-gen exclusives, the current offerings are pretty sparse for both systems.

however, even with the cross-gen games coming out, I think it's fairly clear that those games will run and look best on the new consoles - those versions are the ones that will get all the attention. if you want the "best" experience playing those games, the next gen versions are the ones to play.

iow....the focus is shifting to the new consoles.

Meh, I don't know. Fairly forgettable or weak next gen exclusives really aren't all that much better of a buying incentive than cross gen games. At least to me. But I've never been pray to the new, "Gotta get it!" syndrome that comes with new consoles.

and, I think, if you choose to be an early adopter of a new console ( or any device really ), one of the prices to pay is that there's the chance that there will be a relative game shortage in the early years.

and, y'know, with the latest XBOX update now live ( external storage, app paywall removed, etc. ), it feels like Sony has to really step up their game when it comes to updates and improving the overall PS4 experience.

where's the Youtube app?
external storage support?
mp3/mp4 media playback?
custom themes?
a better browser?
better UI layout?
etc.

Sony cannot afford to fall behind if it wants to maintain its lead.

for example, with the paywall gone, I finally was able to try out IE on my 360. while it doesn't seem to offer that much more in features than the PS3/PS4 browsers, it immediately struck me as more "useable." it was easier to see and read the content on my screen.

with the PS3/PS4 browsers, the default text/page size is just so small. On the PS4 browser, if you press the right stick, you can blow up the page, but then it makes it too big, and then you have to scroll left and right to read the whole page.

it's just little things like that.

hopefully, Sony is constantly working, testing stuff out, and seeing what their competition is doing to improve the user experience of their console.

Their E3 presentation can't just be about the games. it also has to be about improving the overall experience and usability of the console.

The PS4 can't just get by being a "game console." not with the gap between it and the X1 narrowing.

sorry for the rant.......lol.

I sincerely hope they don't waste any time on that ****.

Pressing square makes the browser full screen. Ive never had a problem with the size/resolution

Their E3 press conference should be all about games, especially since they seem to be lacking in that department. They need to reassure hungry gamers that are growing frustrated as well as those apprehensive to jump aboard. All this other stuff can be revealed and detailed in PS blog posts or press releases

making the browser full screen does help a bit.

but it still is a bit hard to read. especially now that I'm trying out IE on my 360. Sony just needs to tweak the browser.

is the browser that important to me in the long run??

no. especially if they add mp3/mp4/media storage and playback.

media playback is WAY more important to me than a browser. that way, I can save the media from my computer and use a USB stick to transport it to my PS4.

and my whole point is......the PS4 should be able to do what the PS3 does. and, you should never stop improving what you have to offer. especially if your competition steadily improves.

stagnation and complacency will hurt the PS4 and I don't want to see that happen.

Uhhh...it's been widening. The PS4 was only a few hundred thousand ahead at the end of 2013....PS4 has sold over 7 million (lots of people saying it's already hit 8) X1 has sold 5 million. The gap is growing. So from a few hundred thousand to a few million is the opposite of what you are saying.

no. I meant in terms of "features" and "differences." not sales.

the consoles are becoming more and more equal, now that the X1 will be $100 cheaper and it has removed the paywall. Those were 2 big advantages the PS4 had over the X1.

the remaining advantage is that the PS4 still has the more powerful hardware.

The PS4 is clearly in the lead right now. but the X1 now has the potential to start catching up and perhaps even surpass.

Can the X1 ultimately do that? maybe. maybe not.

But Sony, if they want to stay in the lead, needs to make sure they aren't becoming complacent and stagnating with the PS4.

Of course, delivering quality games and exclusives is the most important. but features and user experience can't be neglected, either.

For example, say at E3, MS announces that X1 will be able to play mp3s, mp4s, etc. starting in July.

and Sony doesn't add that until..........September or November. that would be unacceptable.

I get the reason they are not doing mp3/mp4, because 95% of the people using that feature are 'pirating" it. The youtube thing will come in time. As I'm sure the others are. But in the end, the games are what sells it. Most don't know how to connect their HD to the PS3 and play movies. It's not done by everyone.

Though yes, I'm sure they will have these features in the future, I'm more interesting in what games they bring to E3. Sony added/fixed so much during the PS3, the PS4 will be no different.

yep. and it also shows that competition is healthy and a good thing.

The sparse library always seems to happen, and while I don't blame the developers, it is a reason why I still haven't went nextgen. Well that, and because I always wait to see if there are any major hardware kinks.

It's not like the PS2's The Bouncer was an excellent title, but obviously in the long run it was worth the price. Same with PS3 and how hyped up Lair was with talk of using the DS's motion controls, yet the PS3 went on to be a very awesome system. Sony's proven every gen (to me) that it has some stellar exclusives, so I know that I'm definitely getting one. I just don't think I can jump in just yet even though at this point I already had bought a PS3.

As for saying I can't blame devs, it's understandable why they always wait. Current gen games are already expensive, some as much as big blockbuster movies. So to decide in advance to spend more money developing a game for a system not even on the market yet (given games can take a year to years to make) is a big risk. Versus developing a cheaper costing game for an 80 million install base. Now that the PS4 is selling so well, I'm sure plenty of devs are jumping over to full nextgen exclusives. They just had to see how well the consoles were going to do.

A lot of people were thinking consoles were dying, and mobile was the way to go right before this gen started. Now that sales are proving otherwise, I'm sure that eases plenty of developers minds.

If I put a custom pic as my profile picture like by using the app it still won't be shown publicly or to friends unless they request A Real Name right?

I forgot if I can make it public automatically without using Facebook info,I want to use the new MK logo

how do you use a custom pic for your PSN avatar?

You upload it on the mobile app
Really? You can upload whichever picture you want? Does it have to be approved? WTF! My phone's not even compatible with the app dammit. I need to upgrade soon.
