Uh, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was a PS3/360 game. The "next gen" capabilities of the Wii U has absolutely nothing to do with it.
I get it but the wii u which from a technical standpoint is on par with the 360, is competing with the ps4 and the xbone. and I thought he was talking about tekken 7, was he not?

because he was probably right that it won't be announced for the wii u, and that IS nintendo's own fault.

No, it was a joke.
oh. okay good because i'd hate to see tekken stuck on nintendo consoles

This is true, but I'm not sure exactly what this has to do with what I was saying. Did the PS3 version of Tekken 6 get excluisve stuff or something?
besides the first sentence about sony also having a good relationship with namco, that part of my post wasn't really a response to you... just things i wanted to say.

and no, tekken 6 didn't get exclusive dlc but it did sell a lot better on ps3, and since then ps3 still had 2 exclusive tekken products which were tekken hybrid and tekken revolution
IDA = I don't agree.
i ain't ever heard of that one, but thanks

what's IDA?

and i would definitely not say the genre was dying in the Ps2 era. TTT was a launch title for Ps2 and it was considered one of if not the best launch title for it. then there was soul calibur 2 which had so much hype behind it for its console-exclusive characters. then you have virtua fighter 4 evolution which was seen as a huge improvement for the vf series, and probably influences dark resurrection and bloodline rebellion from namco.

sales overall of any fighting game last generation is a fraction of the sales of shooters.

Fighting games went through a weird transitional phase in the PS2 era. There was a decline in their popularity simply bc Arcades died out. SC2 had much hype for it, but what of SC3? Mortal Kombat seemingly had a good revival with Deadly Alliance but the series ended up being met with unfavorable opinions by the time Armageddon launch. I think SF3's late console release killed its chances of being popular and it ended up being a niche title, being big among a smaller loyal fanbase, but never took off like 2 before it. Whereas Capcom was doing lots of things with it in the PS1 era (Alpha, EX, Vs), they pretty much did nothing else with the IP. Capcom lost the Marvel license very early on, thus killing any fighters with that IP early on. A number of launched series from the PS1 era, (Darkstalkers, Star Gladiator, Rival Schools, etc...) were pretty much no shows. SNK's entire line went downhill as the company went out of business. KoF struggled to stay afloat as a result. You may not realize it but popularity in fighters did go downhill in the PS2 era. SFIV helped revive the fighting game genre. After its launch, a slew of them came out and EVO is bigger now than its ever been and its still headlined by SF IV. The genre became irrelevant going into the PS3/360 generation. Not so much now

It's more of an in-between console like the Wii. It's more powerful than the PS3/360, but not as much as PS4/Bone, you're correct.

But no, we weren't talking about Tekken 7 there. That was in reference to the Wii U port of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 that had several Nintendo themed costumes and a new mode that had a lot of Nintendo items.

Man there are no Sony stores near me I had to send mine in! I'll probably get a refurbished one I bet. Mine was from Amazon and had a faulty HDMI connector among other things. I'm so glad we got a free one year warranty though!
That's a bummer, guess I'm lucky I have a Sony store nearby. Didn't think about how they were handling it for people who didn't. I figure since they sent out so many defective ones upon first release that basically just needed new HDMI ports, there's probably a lot of refurbished ones going out now as "new." A free warranty is always a good thing though!

So I am worried I might be getting ready to be banned from PSN on my ps4. See a few days ago I sent some trash talk messages to some guys who were bragging in a lobby on last of us multiplayer. It was harmless trash talk that was really just me joking around. Now I noticed tonight I can't sent text or voice messages to friends or recent players anymore on my ps4 or via the playstation app on my iPhone 5.

Every time I try it says " cannot send message". Does this mean people submitted grief reports and now I can no longer send messages to friends and other players on my ps4? I can still play online and acess the PSN store, live with playstation etc but I just can't send messages to anyone. Playstation hasn't sent me any emails or anything. Seems a bit harsh if that's that case. I am hoping it's just a PSN error and not anything on my end. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Honestly, I think I'm going to skip the PS4 for now. Too damn many horror stories.

Never thought I'd see the day that Microsoft would make a better product.

i'll admit I don't know too much about the highs and lows regarding the fighting game genre besides tekken, simply because that's a game I grew up playing. especially tag & the 4th. I was never a big fan of street fighter, although it is probably the critically and commercially most successful fighting franchise ever yeah? either way though I haven't been following their streaks so i'll assume you're right about all this

and yeah, I thought SC2 was a huge success, and the third shouldn't have been a Ps2 exclusive. so you telling me they're becoming relevant again? that's what it sounded like with your finishing sentence

bentsamania wrote "When it is announced for platforms the only one that WON'T get it will be the WiiU." so why should I believe he was talking about TTT2 and not Tekken 7?

we can all agree at this point that the Ps3 was the most powerful console last generation, yeah?

in that case, the wii was to the xbox what the wii u is to the ps3. would I be right in saying that?

I don't know. I'm on the fence, honestly.

I have a PS4 preordered, but I am considering canceling it, and going Xbone.

...

Im guessing Tag Tournament 2 didnt sell? Was odd seeing them give the platform a bunch of Nintendo centric exclusive content

This is the post I was replying with the post about Namco and Nintendo having a close relationship in reference to why that port was given a lot of Nintendo themed content.

Yes, I believe so.

Well, the videos of Killzone turning PS4's into jet engines has made me a bit weary. Even more so when people suggested that was not unusual.

Also, Microsoft has really impressed me with these recent announcements.

If I didn't have both and right now had to chose one system.. I'd probably go with the One. Based on their future lineup.

It didn't for inFamous... I didn't notice anything for KillZone that I remember.

Does yours go into after burner mode if you play Killzone or Infamous?

Mine was super quiet with Killzone, but if you really want a PS4 for Killzone I don't know if that is worth it....haven't played Infamous yet.

What horror stories? I rember the first like month there was a lot of talk about ps4 and the consers have some problem I don't rember what it was but I have heard any thing sences then. I am really surprise that we haven't heard about xbox one's breaking a lot though because both xbox and xbox 360 brook a lot and way more then ps2 or ps3 did so I thought xbox one would have a majore issue again.

No, not becoming relevant again. They already are as was seen with the release of SF IV and later MK, the two juggernauts that helped start the movement in the 90s. Theres been kind of a reversal as its the 2D fighters that are now the biggest whereas the 3D ones have lost their way

Does yours go into after burner mode if you play Killzone or Infamous?

I havent had a single problem with those or any game since launch

Yeah. IMHO Infamous isn't even worth it. I was extremely leg down by that game. :(

I wouldn't worry too much about these "horror stories."

Sure, I'm sure there are problem consoles out there ( I've heard "stories" about the One, too ). but, if they were really widespread, we'd probably be hearing much more about them ( like we did with the 360 RROD ).

personally, as a PS4 owner, I don't think you can go wrong with it. Yeah, I've been vocal here about them missing certain features. But in terms of the system itself, I couldn't be more pleased. I haven't had any noise or crash issues. It's sleek and fast and powerful, and the games perform and look amazing. You'll be amazed at how fast the games download/install from the disc and how fast you can start playing them.

however, since you have neither, I would go with which one has the games ( current and future ) that interest you the most.

Its worth playing. Its not worth it at $60 but $30 and below? Definitely.

Yeah. I can agree with that. It's a good game and I'm not saying it isn't. Just so disappointing at the same time. I'm actually more interested in that Fetch DLC...
