I will never go fully digital. I like owning things I pay for.

Most people will probably accept, or even embrace digital, but I know there will always be a sizable minority who won't.

Oh yea theres absolutely no doubt. There are still people who only purchase CD's, hell vinyl records are still produced. Theres always going to be a market for physical products and with gaming there are always going to be things like collectors editions. But when you have a major publisher saying things like "we will be 100% digital in the future", you've got a good idea of where the industry is headed

As long as they continue working towards good competitive prices, I'm all for it. Sony has been really good about sales over the last year. They obviously have a long way to go when you compare it to a service like Steam, but I feel like they are slowly getting there.

For the record, I am not some kind of luddite who still uses a VCR.

I would actually go at least partially digital if they made the prices even remotely competitive. But prices aren't even the biggest issue. The lack of infrastructure is a major hurdle for everyone in the digital entertainment industry.

America (where most of us live) has terribly slow internet. The file sizes for video games are also problematic; Killzone Shadowfall is almost 40 GB. And that's a damn launch title. Just imagine GTA VI.

And with streaming this is going to be even more of an issue.

And Sony is deff moving much faster than say MS, feature wise. Pre downloading is a huge step towards enticing digital and something I really hope MS doesnt go long without.

Yea thats absolutely a valid argument. I think the preloading of games can help to alleviate that to an extent. DL speeds deff need to get quicker though. Althouh iv found the download speeds on my PS4 to be very reasonable and I don't have the fastest internet connection.

Weird since the PS4 sold 2 million more units the Xbone in April, these are just Facebook likes though. Obviously the actual sales tell another story. Maybe PS4 users could care less about hitting the like button?

Resogun added a free update which involves a ship editor.

"The Ship Editor will allow you to design your own ships from scratch using a detailed voxel editor. The editor doesn’t only let you choose what your ship looks like, but also balance its agility, boost, overdrive, and standard weapons. When you’re done designing your ship, you can also share it online and download other players’ designs."

Really weird as they were all hitting likes all over the internet a few months ago. Hardly seems possible for it to have changed that drastically. Maybe people aren't as bothered about the console war any more so much less people in general are hunting these things down and getting involved. If people are caring less about who's winning and just enjoying the entertainment that's definitely a much healthier situation.

I put mine up on Twitter.. Shu replied "good job!" And it's been favorited and retweeted 50 times each. I've been on Twitter for years and I've never had anything trafficked so much, lol.

War never changes.

But war.. War has changed.. Digital games are preordered on a digital battlefield. Consumers carry ID tagged money cards that can be used to preload a game weeks before it hits..giving them the ability to play the game at midnight on launch.

War.. Has changed.

I hope Sony releases a list of games after Destiny that let's us download a week in advance,Does it actually include full installations?,IF so then we will be able to play the full game at midnight!?

I might get discs for games not able to download a week in advance and download the ones I am able to like Destiny

If we could download a Diablo 3 a week in advance I would do it in a heartbeat. Those are two games I want digitally because I'm going to play them a LONG ZTIME (Diablo and Destiny)

Will probably be a while before they add big games but would be cool to have some launch games soon

I noticed when I turned on my ps4 today that it said it needed an update. I thought the system did that automatically?

Was your console on stand by?,It asked me yesterday but it wasn't on stand by

when was the last time you turned it on (prior to that). The system does one daily check based on the time you have set up for it. Its possible the firmware was posted after that check. Do note that it will download firmware updates but wont install it until you prompt it to

Played MLB on Monday, so that was the last time i turned it on until just an hour or so ago. And maybe thats what it was, was the installation. I thought the system did everything for me in terms of the updates.

My console is always in standby. I don't turn it off all the way except for like once every two weeks or so.
