The Official PS4 Thread - Part 6

I understand.. But the option to play by yourself is there. Like I said I wasn't always grouped and to be fair the Alpha was just a way to bring up some hype for the game. I'm hoping that the Beta expands on this.. Show us what we CAN do by ourselves. If it's less then I can totally understand why some people wouldn't be all for it.. However if it's you only need to be grouped for instances and whatnot.. Then no deal.
well I for one hope that they account for this and make the game balanced so you arent penalized if you arent in a party. It would suck if certain parts are near impossible unless you are with a party bc the difficulty is scaled in a way to encourage co-op. I really hope the story and lore is strong here and not merely a loose thread to tie together quests and give you the illusion that you are doing something for a larger which really means nothing.

yeah but I also have a busy life. I dont have the time I used to, to heavily get into MP focused games. I prefer to play games at my own pace which is why I prefer single player experiences.

same here.

I hope i never find myself in that situation. Too busy or not interested to play with friends online. I don't play with the same guys I used to 5, 6 years ago, but iv still got a handful of dudes i can party up with and play some games.

one reason why I tend to avoid online MP, is because I usually suck at it and get my ass kicked......lol.

I'm just not that serious of a gamer anymore. more of a casual gamer now. that's why I prefer single player experiences where I can play on my own terms.

.

I'm usually in the same boat. I used to have a such a bad KD ratio in Modern Warfare 2 with friends until I turned that around to get over 1. Same with Battlefield 1942.

I don't have as much to dedicate to getting better in FPS games like I used to in order to get better.

I'm especially bad at FPS games......lol.

if it's a single player game like Bioshock Infinite, I don't mind. but I'd never last in any kind of competitive MP.

Hah yea that's understandable. No one likes to lose.

I'm okay at FPS, but it takes me a while to learn the maps and know what weapons I like using, and then I have to get into a groove too.

I have different priorities now than when I was in my mid 20s. As it stands, I really only get quality time to play games on the weekends. Its hard to fit it in on the weekdays on a consistent basis. I remember being all about MP games at the beginning of last gen as I was on CoD4, Warhawk and Resistance religiously but really cant get as invested anymore

I have a full time job, a six year old son, wife and a daughter on the way (23 days.. haha) I still find time to game. Normally late at night when I get home (11 pmish) and normally only with one of my group of friends (my one friend sadly never stops working..) but we tend to find time to play.

ooking forward to Destiny and Diablo for the co-op reasons.

Gaming is far from #1 in my life, obviously.. at all, but I put a grand into these consoles and gal'darnit I'm gonna make time! On days off or when everyone is asleep, lol.

Yea life just hasn't caught up to me yet the way it has some of my friends and I'm doing all I can to delay it. That's one of the reasons I stayed in school so long, hah. I graduate in Aug tho, so who knows what's around the corner.

I think the share feature will get some proper exposure with the game No Man's Sky.

I can just imagine the crazy s**t that will pop up.

I suspect that No Man's Sky is going to end up being a letdown in some way. Not to sound like a debbie downer, but the concept seems way to grand to really live up to it's expectations. It makes me think of the original Fable, which was solid little game, but one that paled in comparison to the ambition that the developers seemed to have in mind with making it.

Eh... on one hand it wouldn't surprise me but on another hand I don't think it's fair to compare anyone in terms of promises made to Peter Molyneux, who has a made a career of underdelivering on games.

None of your guys are getting Destiny? I enjoyed the beta and I'm looking forward to that and The Crew.

I bought a PS4 because it was the best time for me financially to buy. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have bought the PS4. I have yet to buy another full game for it. I've been waiting for Infamous and MLB The Show to get cheaper. I'm liking the betas, and the PSN games though.

I knew before I bought it that since this is the first year of this gen that things are going to be a work in progress. I feel like by 2015 of Christmas would be the best time to get a current gen system. You'll have plenty of established games for systems. But for now, things are going to be slower for both systems which is why both have invested so highly in indie games so far.

Naa...I was hyped before I saw an hours worth of gameplay...now I don't really have an interest.

C'mon man.. Don't compare anyone to The Molyneux....

That's a full decade of broken promises.

I liked the alpha, and if Bungie can release a lot of content for it ala Borderlands, it can be a hit. It's a game with a lot of potential to it, especially if the pack a punch in terms of content.

As long as The Division, No Man's Sky, and Arkham Knight (or at least one of the three) delivers, I'll be excited.

Well, I've put off buying Watch Dogs until I get mine in September. I'll probably get Tomb Raider and Last of Us around the same time.

While the PS4 not having a media remote is annoying, the built in headphone jack in the controller would make it my go-to media player.

I picked these up yesterday.

Wireless, 8 hours battery life, integrated hidden mic, 7.1 virtual audio and adjustable levels and it works with PS3, PS4, PCs, and mobile devices. Problem solved.:)

About Destiny, I don't plan to get it. I get bored quickly with online shooters.

I do want to get Tomb Raider and AC Blackflag on PS4 eventually, but I can't justify paying full price again even tho they are both really good games.

How are you enjoying it? I saw it available for $55 but sure that's exactly something I need

How does it work with mobile devices? I thought it wasn't BT and only connected via a USB dongle?

It comes with a 3.5mm stereo cable that connects to the headset via USB.

I like it. Works great for movies and games. At $55 you can't beat it. And the virtual surround and base levels are good. And game studios are releasing specific audio profiles for this and the elite sony headset that you get with the Headset Companion App. For instance, Watchdogs has a specific profile for the headphones. I go into the companion app and turn it on and the headsets are calibrated the way the studio that designed Watchdogs want them to be calibrated so I'm getting the audio the way they intended. Infamous Second Son also has its own audio profile. Other PS3 and PS4 games are supposed to come with their own audio profils for the headsets as well.

Here is another pic showing what it comes with:

You get a 1 foot charging cable (absurdly short) and a 3 foot (I think it's 3 foot) 3.5mm stereo cable for mobile devices. About the charging cable, it's a standard USB cable like what comes with the PS4 controllers and android phones so you can chuck that 1 foot cable and use any USB cable you've got lying around if you want a longer cable.

I will play single player till I'm dead. Multiplayer and co-op will be dependant on other things, as fun as they are.

Is there any way to stop getting notifications from people "leaving" a mass message that someone else sent out?

How much does the gold headset extend?
