Cool but I mean on top of the headset when you open it to fit on heads

Dimensions (width/height/depth):

Wireless stereo headset: 178.3 x 191.5 x 48 mm(7.0 x 7.7 x 1.9 in)

Weight:

Wireless stereo headset: Approx. 295.4 g (11.3 oz)

Looking at mine, I'm pretty sure you could fit these things over an American football helmet when fully extended. They extend pretty far and are quite bendable. And the ear muff parts that contain the speakers slide along the inside of the band rather than extend from the bottom of the band. I've never seen headsets designed like this, but it's a good design. If youre on the fence and want to try them out first, if you have a Game-Stop near you, they may have a pair outside of the box that you can look at.

I just don't like heavy head sets, even if the sound is great.

They feel light on the head. I own a pair of sony MDR-V6 headsets that feel truly heavy and make the top of my head hurt after a while and they squeeze. These Sony Gold's don't do that. I watched Saving Private Ryan last night and I forgot I was wearing them until I laid on my side and my head hit the pillow. They really are the most comfortable headsets I've ever worn. Granted your mileage may very. What feels comfortable to me may not to you, but from what I can tell with reviews the common consensus seems to be that they are comfortable and light. They don't make my ears hot either. I think it's all do to the band design. It must distribute the weight and pressure more evenly across the whole head.

And there is the fact there is no heavy stereo wire. That makes a big difference imo. My MDR-V6's have the most cumbersome wire. It's coiled, covered in thick weighty rubber, and has to be 9 feet. Damn thing just lays on you and drags across the bed like a dead weight if I move. I swear I've come close to chucking those things in the bin just because of that annoying wire.

DualShock 4 Controller Wireless on PS3

Following the recent 4.60 update for PlayStation 3, it is now possible to get your PS4 DualShock 4 controller working wirelessly with the console. Previously you needed to use the USB cable if you wanted to use your new shiny controller with the
with the last-gen system,
but Reddit user “shafiggy16″ noticed that it is now possible to use it without the cable. To use the DualShock 4 wirelessly, you will first need to register it as a Bluetooth device. To do this go to Accessory Settings and Manage Bluetooth Devices on your PS3, scan for Bluetooth devices, and then press the Share and PS buttons on your DualShock 4, the controller will then be recognized as a “wireless controller.”
The controller won’t be recognized as a DualShock 4 however, so rumble, motion control, and the touchpad will all be disabled.

Sony's latest PS3 firmware update quietly introduces DualShock 4 wireless support for the system, as we get the growing impression the poor old DualShock 3 is being quietly shoved off a cliff. Previously you had to plug in the PS4 controller to use it on PS3, but now you can sync it up via Bluetooth and go new-gen on the last gen wirelessly.

We've tested it out and it's easy to set up. First, head to Settings on the PS3 media bar, then Accessory Settings and Manage Bluetooth Devices and finally Register New Device. After that the PS3 will scan for Bluetooth controllers, so to make your DualShock 4 show up hold the PS and Share button at the same time. After a few seconds the controller's light bar will start blinking, and then it'll show up on the PS3 screen ready to be connected.

A few words of warning: This will de-sync your DualShock 4 with your PS4, but re-syncing it is simply a matter of connecting the gamepad to the PS4, turning the system on and then pressing the PS button. Also, our pal Engadget reports compatibility with various games is "somewhat spotty," so don't be pushing your DualShock 3 off a cliff just yet.

when do you think we'll get our next major update?

Anyone else notice that the PS4's bluray player seems lackluster? I can't watch my BR's on it because of the lag between mouth movement and the lines being spoken. It drives me nuts.

Maybe it's your setup. I've never had that problem.

I have never experienced anything like that.

I google searched it and apparently is very common. A guy had a fix tho..

Your getting a video processing lag somewhere. For *****s and giggles go to the PS4 video setting and change the 1080p/24 off automatic and on put it on something else. I dont know what the other settings are, not in front of ps4.

That's pretty cool.

I never have problems with my blu ray movies either,I watched one last night and it ran perfectly

That's not just cool, that's F'ing awesome. I lost my last PS3 controller when I moved and money is tight so I haven't been able to buy a new one. I have so many games to catch up on for my PS3. Good times, good times...

I have a PS3 controller my wife got on Ebay awhile back but it's unplayable since they buttons have to be pushed hard for them to respond. I can at least use this to set up the PS4 controller though. :)

The only problem is it can't use the motion aspects and for games like Uncharted: Drakes Fortune or The Last of Us, it's kind of needed.

Well that sucks because two of the games I want to start playing are the first two Uncharted games.

That's not the only problem. It doesn't work at all in several games. In some like Resistance 2 and GoW Origins, it doesn't work in the main menu. There is also no PS button functionality with any game so you cant access the XMB with it and of course there's no rumble.

Its not really needed in Last of Us. I played that game without needing to recharge my battery. I don't think I realized you could even shake the controller to do that until after I was done with it and read it online. Its not something that will get in the way of gameplay such as other titles which make more integral uses of SIXAXIS

Will the headphone jack work?

The PS3 firmware doesn't have an option for output through a gamepad so no

I never understood why PS3 controllers are so expensive (or the 360's for that matter). I mean, I don't expect them to be cheap. But, PS3 controllers are still 40 bucks. The console has devalued faster than the damn controller.

I will say with the PS4, you seem to be at least getting a lot of bang for your buck. Headphone jack, touch screen, motion detection, light bar. and speakers.

Especially when you consider the tech and materials in the controller is old and not valued that highly. But I guess it's about supply and demand. Sony are the only ones who make official PlayStation controllers and Microsoft are the only ones who make official Xbox controllers so they can charge pretty much whatever they want to. I've never bought an extra controller for any system I've ever owned tho. With the older systems that had split screen multiplayer my friends had to bring their own controllers if they wanted to play multiplayer. Now that multiplayer is online it doesn't make much sense for me to own more than one controller.

I would pay 80 dollars to get a DS4 that worked without a damn light bar.

Why not just put duct tape over it or something like that if it's distracting to you?

PS4 controller works wireless with a PS3? That's a cool feature if you have both consoles.

1.) gross residue.
2.) it's not distracting it just drains the battery life something fierce. The ability to dim it does nothing to change that.
