right now, I have about 300GB left on my PS4. Just got Last of Us, and I heard that's a 50GB install.

so......I think I should be good for another several months. at least until Sept/Oct/Nov hits when the games come out.

yeah, I think if I get sub 200 or around 150 left, then I'll seriously consider getting a bigger hdd.

the only thing, though, is that right now, since I have so little on my PS4, perhaps it would be easier to just make the move now. less stuff to transfer over, etc.

yeah......I'm pretty sure 1TB should be sufficient.

but, if I do see a good deal on a 2TB, I might go for that, especially if it's not that much more than a 1TB.

and yeah, the new consoles should have come with a bigger hdd. at least with the PS4, you can swap out the internal drive.

The X1 supports external drives, but still, it would be nice to have at least a 1 TB internal. So, that's why, even though I am interested in getting an X1, I'm still hesitant to do so right now.

Thats what I would do man. If the PS4 was my primary machine, Id of gone ahead and purchased a huge HDD when I got the system for the reason you mentioned.

yeah........I also have relatively little on my PS3 right now. so if I swap my PS3 drive out for the bigger PS4 drive, it might be a good idea to do that now, too.

especially since there are some upcoming PS3 games I'm interested in..........

that's probably true........but it would be nice to know if the extra internal space on the X1 is there. cuz the X1 could very well become my primary console. I could always hook up an external hdd, but I'd rather not have so many wires dangling out. although, I suppose, doing that would be easier than opening up the console and swapping out the hdd.

just kind of debating if I should use some of the money I've been saving up for the X1 to buy a bigger hdd for my PS4.

right now, I've pretty much saved up enough to buy the X1.

the thing is......if it weren't for these games needing to be installed on your hdd, this probably wouldn't even be an issue for me. I'm not that heavy of a gamer, so 500GB would have been no issue for me.

well that's when you are going to want to do your upgrade, not when its filled up. Its going to take quite a while to download and reinstall all your content after you transfer. It'll be faster with less data, than a full drive. I remember doing that with my PS3's 160gb and it took days to transfer everything over. Thankfully the PS4 is much faster with everything but still...

yeah.......I'm gonna try to upgrade before the fall flood of games hit. From now till then, there's only 3 games I'll be playing ( Infamous, Last of Us, and Diablo 3 ), so that shouldn't be too bad.

I checked my local stores and it seems the biggest hdd they carry is a 1 TB. I'd prefer to buy locally, and I think 1 TB will be more than enough for my needs.
