Well, Rogue was confirmed in X1 to be 17 (Storm said so in the train station). I'm guessing about a year passed between then and X2, and about 3 years between X2 and X3. I got the impression that Bobby was a year older (no confirmation; just suspicion), and that Pyro was the same age (again, no proof).Hey all, I'm new here. I've been having fun checking out all the Pyro posts and pictures in this thread.t: I know what you mean about the facial hair making him look so different. But then again he seems to be quite the chameleon actor. I don't think he's looked exactly the same in anything I've seen him in yet.
Anyway, I was wondering how old John, Bobby and Rogue are supposed to be in the three films? Who's oldest (in the movie, I mean. Not the actors' real ages. I'm pretty sure Aaron is the oldest of the 3 of them). Anybody know? I'm guessing around 15 in the first, then 17 or so in 2 and 18 or 19 in 3?

I think that Pyro and Xavier's relationship should be explored a little in X5. Xavier shouldn't return; but I think Pyro should contract the Legacy Virus and end up dying, which leads to some reflection on his life. I'm establishing his family roots (abusive father, promiscuous/neglectful mother, divorced when he was tween/early teen) and his power manifestation (at 15, his father grinds a cigarette into Pyro's arm, and Pyro accidentally makes it burst into flames and catch his father's arm on fire; he takes the worst beating of his life 'cause he's now a "freak", and gets revenge by burning his father's house down before running away to join Xavier's school) in X4, then building on his relationships with Xavier and Magneto from there in X5.
Why are you thinking a year? I was thinking three because a) that's how much time passed between X2 and the filming of X3; b)Jean's hair had grown out a LOT between X2 and X3; and c) It would make more sense for Logan to expect Scott to have moved on by that time (though Scott hadn't moved on because he was secretly receiving psychic signals from Jean), and it would make more sense for Xavier to have concluded that Scott "is a changed man" after three years. Of course, none of this is concrete (especially the thing about Logan); but IMO, it points in that direction. Thanks, I don't think quite that much time passed between 2 and 3 though. Maybe more like ayear if that. If it were several years that's an awful long time for poor Scott to be broken up about Jean. That's interesting that Storm said Rogue's 17 in X1. Looking at her I wouldn't have said any older that 15 or 16 tops there.
One of the few times I LOVE a recast!Getting back to Pyro, while I was rewatching X1 I kept thinking that kid playing John looks absolutely nothing like Aaron Stanford. lol. Oh, well so much for consistency. I'm very glad that Aaron got the role anyway.![]()
I looked up Pyro on Wikipedia, and came up with almost nothing on his past. I remembered the commentary on X2 saying that the scene where he's glaring at Bobby's family photos was meant to show that he came from a broken home, so I just decided to run with that.On the other thing you mentioned ToriL90 , are those family roots completely fan ficiton or is it based on "official" writings? Just curious.
That's why I want to delve further into his past in X4 - I loved the development he was receiving in X2, and I'd like to build on it. He came from a broken home? What kind of a broken home? What were the specifics? Why did he obsess over that lighter? In my X4, it turns out that the lighter was his father's. His father used it to light the cigarette he burned Pyro's arm with when Pyro's powers manifested; and a short time later, it was the source of fire Pyro used to burn down his father's house. (This information won't be stated explicitly; but the lighter will be seen in a flashback scene, when Pyro is reflecting while flicking his lighter in that obsessive way he did in X2). It's sort of twisted, but I think it fits the character. Pyro is obviously a very troubled young man.My only fear with having Pyro in future Xmen movies is that they will lose that great character development and depth they had going in X2 with John's changing sides storyline and just kill him off like any other minor villian. It seemed like by X3 he was well on the way to that status. Though I'm certainly happy he's likely still among the living for a future Xmen film.![]()

Well, it was confirmed in X1 by Storm that Rogue was 17 in that movie, and Anna Paquin confirmed in an interview that Rogue was 18 in X2. I guess it's possible that she was 1 or 2 months away from 18 in X1, but it doesn't seem likely to me.I always heard that two months passed between X1 and 2 and 8 months between X2 and 3. You could probably extend the time between one and two a bit, but other than that it sounds about right to me. No way years have past.
I heard it was EITHER three weeks or three years. Based on the reasons posted above, I think it's years.britrogue said:I heard it was three months between 2 and 3

What was so stand-still about it? Sure, Scott was stuck grieving; but he was pretty much the only one who was in the same place as at the end of X2. Logan moved on (until Jean returned, which would understandably rekindle his feelings), Storm became a leader, Kitty and Colossus joined the X-Men, and Rogue and Bobby's relationship was reduced to the point where they only communicated when they were fighting. And, of course, their physical appearances changed a lot, too. They all had new uniforms, Jean's hair was a lot longer, Storm had a new doo, I think Logan gained muscle, Bobby looked a lot older and had a more mature haircut, same for Colossus, Rogue's white streak was a lot bigger and her hair was significantly longer, and Kitty looked like a whole new person!I can't find my DVD, but I remember Storm saying she was around/about 17..I'm not sure she really knew.:shrugs:
I like to think that if three years had passed everyone wouldn't have been so..stagnant and stuck in the same situation they were before. It's like, were they really at a stand still for all that time?

Just saying that for every single character to change so much, it seems more likely that the change took place over a couple years rather than a couple months. I agree that Logan getting over her isn't nearly my best evidence, 'cause he is a "quick healer" in more ways than one. Still, I would find it a little bit odd that he would expect Scott to be over Jean within three months. If he was grieving that badly after three years they should have sent him to a psychologist long ago.I think a couple months is a enough time for Logan to "get over" her because he barely knew the woman. Don't get me on the subject of Storm! lol Kitty and Peter could have been elected junior X-men shortly after the events in X2 (Peter fighting the soldiers and helping the kids; Kitty getting the paperwork from Styker's offce as Prof. X said to the President). Almost all of the characters had a different look in each movie, so that doesn't mean much.
ROFL!!!!! Scott's getting counseling from Peanuts?Three months is too soon, I agree, but at eight months while you can't expect him to ever be fully over it he shouldn't be a complete wreck at that time. But you are right about the whole psychic visitations drawing it out far more than it would normally. I'll have to think about that.
Hee. He obviously couldn't recognize the extent of his problem.
It's okay, Scott. We're not here to judge.

Not 7-10 years. I have fast-growing hair - I would probably be able to grow that much in 3 years, so it's possible that she could. It would have taken from 7 to 10 years so it could grow all of that. I say proposal continuity mistake so that she could have a flowing hair, like the comics.
I saw the kid who plays Jones is the same actor in X2 and 3 and decided to go to the IMDB and see how old he was. He was born in Jan 1992 which puts him around 10 during the filming of x2 and around 13 in x3 - which looks about right to me. That would put 3 years in between X2 and X3 - especially because it would be really hard to beleive a kid would do that much growing in a couple weeks or even months (or even just a year).
Anyway, anybody ever come up with an explanation for Pyro's hair change in 2 and 3? I'm nit picking I know.I know Aaron wanted to make it more like the comic book for the fans but as for Pyro. Why change hair color? Or could it have been an effect brought on by practicing his skills with fire? (sort of like the sun lightening a person's hair over time). I just can't see him at the hairdresser waiting for his color to take.
