Comics The Official ROGUE Discussion Thread

^Agree.....dont blame Rouge....blame the game.

@Snikt 6: Don't blame Emma, blame the game. :D

Seriously about blaming the game SOLELY... Nah.

Sure, editorials decisions and the occasional blend writing can screw any character (about EVERY character had to face such a fate at some point), but, come on, if something's been written rather consistently for that long of a duration, it becomes IN-character.

That's basically what I tried to get across when I talked about how Rogue's character has been... since her conception.

I got called an idiot. Great stuff.

Queenie is a bit defensive when it comes to Rogue. :D

While I *do* agree with her that some writers took the diva thing waaaayyyy too far, it's rather silly to say the only reason Rogue's pissed off & whiny (and sometimes comes off as a brat) is bad writing. :wow:

So back to the topic at HAND :woot:

In Carey recent frenzy of changes I really hope he doesn't
let me down and change/add/replace her powers.
Her Sunfire powers just don't do it for me.
Do you guys prefer her as a tank?
With ranged power (Telekentic, Telepath, etc)?
Both? It's part of the main reasons I'm at the edge of my seat
with what Carey is going to do with her. I really want her to
have a new set of powers, and maybe even a new costume

He *totally* will change her powers. Hell, the whole run so far has been about tweaking her. :D

But criticism over lack of subtletly aside, my guess would be they'll go with making her a tank again. I hope they go for that, really. Her persona just fits the tank role better, eh.

Oh, and trust me on this one, you *really* REALLY don't want her spout some 'mind over matter' one-liners. :wow:

How does he go about making her a tank, though?

I'm more interested in seeing what convoluted way she regains a whole new power set.

Dude, he dropped a f****n monster from the sky just to stick voices inside her head.

Ye of little faith. :woot:

How would he do that though?
Wasn't the whole "recall old powers" thing used in X-treme?
I don't think he'd do the same thing.
Unless she kills a tank by touching them.
Also, do you think Carey might give her a permanent power?
Something Rogue can have for good, due to the effects of strain 88.

Well, technically she was supposed to have the Ms. Marvel powers "for good" and Marvel got rid of them.

So it's a moot question.

Missed this post, didn't ya?

Just saying 'HOW' or 'WHY' really won't be an actual issue.

I think Rogue will go back to having some semblance of the Rogue from the 90s because thats the one EVERYONE knows. It doesn't matter HOW she will get back to that powerset....its just a matter of time before it happens. I also think she will have a permanent power...you know, other than the one she ALREADY has (the whole i will kill you if you touch me thing) to boot.

Most likely.

As long as it's not about her having access to various powers (or any she's ever had), it's all good.

I like her with the Ms. Marvel powers. But now who knows what they will do with Rogue.......

^That would be so cool. You know I was looking through Uncanny #171 when Rogue joined the team....that is such a good comic. I wish that somehow when they get the gazillion other voices out of her head she would revert back to more of the 171 type of character. Kinda shy but so very powerful.

I hate unpowered Rogue from the end of the X-Treme storyline. She's supposed to be a trained fighter, yet she got wiped by a few bikers? In any book other than that, it'd never have happened.

Yeah that was the lowest Rogue moment that I can remember.

Considering she had super strength and invulnerablity rather than skill, I don't think it was that bad.

Yeah, that was pretty cheesy, though I did enjoy X-Treme as a whole.

I do empathize, but, still... Let us say us Cyke fans are rather jaded when it comes to instances of characters arbitrarily getting their asses kicked. :wow:

I preferred the depowered Rogue to the uber powerful Rogue that had access to all the powers she's absorbed in her 20 years of existance

Lame doesn't even begin to describe the later.

For crying out loud, the whole *point* of a mutant is to be a one-trick pony power-wise.
