Comics The Official ROGUE Discussion Thread

In case you haven't noticed, LOTS of Roguey fans love what she's been over the past 2-3 years.

I like Rogue as a character, but the past 2-3 years have not really been nice to her;we've seen no real personality development, only power one-and not the best of that, either, I'm sorry to say!:(Looking back to the 90s...those were, indeed, the days!

I was refering to the attitude rather than the power switch.

Please. As if ANYONE didn't how much most Rogue fans whine about her fire powers. ;)

But yup...mostly the attitude and personality hasn't seen any real development or evolution since the Xtreme days, I think!:(

I know that.

Made quite a few comments about how Carey made Rogue/Sam/Bobby bada$$ (arguably cool again for the later two, eh) out of the blue, but didn't do any actual development. :cwink:

If you liked 90's Rogue, then chances are you don't like Rogue since she wasn't acting like herself for the great majority of that decade. Just look at the most definitive version from the 80's, they're like two different characters.

I know...I have noticed the difference, since I was reading both the 80s and 90s at around the same time-80s in my native Greek, since we were just getting those issues then and 90s in the original-so I saw two different people;you could pass it off to some extent to 'character development' though...the shy, formerly of the 'baddies' girl thrust headlong into the 'goodies' and all, as opposed to the surer of herself, more rounded character in the later issues.I see no development now...haven't seen any in some time;and Rogue is an intriguing character, there are more that can be done with her,I think!

Oh, I do agree about Sam and Bobby;they are so much more well rounded as characters now, and not just because their powers evolved, if you will;they have been given a decent personality and though they were never among my favourite X-people, they're definitely climbing in my esteem.Rogue on the other hand...we've only seen her powers 'evolve' though still uncontrollable and confusing on occasion, but she as a person?Stale and unaltered and not in a good way!:(

i like how they have sam and bobby too, but after reading 203 kinda worried about sam now...but i like the way they have rogue, sure i miss her old powers, but sunfire's powers are cool too.
#204

Oh, I do like her Sunfire powers, but I still miss the old invulnerability/superstrength thing she had going in the past!;)

And on a totally random note...I so LOVE that art!!!Every time I see it,I can't wait for #204 even more!!

I hate the fire powers. I guess it's because I've been primed to think of Rogue as a physical character...seeing her with any type of projection powers just doesn't look right. Even though I'd love to see her get her strength back somehow, I'd rather see her with no permenant absorbed power than have energy projection. Rogue should be a tank. Taking away that from Rogue would be like taking away Cyclops' optic blasts. Oh wait.

ROFL!!!Yup...Cyclops doesn't have those for now-here's hoping he does get them back, though, seeing him without optic blasts feels...so darn wrong!!:p

And I think you just made me realise why I don't like Rogue's fire power,I don't really mind it, but it puts me off somehow;you're so right, I'm used to her being a physical character in battle, energy casting feels just so...out of place on her!:o

I'm not reading any of the current "event".

Pssht, knew about Rogue.

Did not know about Cyclops getting neutered.

It amuses me.

*kick* Shud up, Darth. Not all of our lives revolved around Cyke.

LOL Well, I was surprised when I realised he didn't have his powers-read Torn a bit backwards, started from the last issue!*shakes head*Coldqueen...Emma did it!!I thought that was both unnerving and amusing!:p

Wonder if he'll have his powers when MC starts,though...

And back to the thread topic-aka Rogue;)-can't help but wonder...she has to lose her 'death touch' thing, but how would they go about that?:oI am getting the obvious answer...a new Rogue cloned from Sinister, free of the virus and those 8 bil.souls inside her mind?

I'm think they'll cure the "death touch" by killing Rogue.

No.

Surr-iously.

A Rogue-fan is saying this.

Without a doubt. And I take it you're not familiar with the editorial headache (or case of 'don't give a f**k anymore) that is Cassaday's productivity rate on the AXM title. :woot:

*giggles*Oh, I am sadly too familiar with that, don't worry;but I've stopped bothering-issues will come when they will...and who in the Marvel Universe even knows how behind they will be!*shakes head*Cassaday really needs to be more in time with the title he has decided to handle!!!:s

And Coldqueen...that's what I'm afraid of;I don't want Rogue to die, and I do believe that, if there's one person who can cure her without doing that, it's probably Sinister;so I wait to see what comes to pass!

If Sinister DID heal Rogue he'd do it in such a way that would still shaft her really hard in the end.

(That sounds so wrong, but you get the drift).

Pssht, DARTH.

WHY ARE YOU IN THE ROGUE THREAD?!

Yup...drift gotten, indeed! But he might still do it;Sinister always has agendas within agendas,so you can never tell what he might or might not do!:oAlways a catch, though...

I'm just realizing how much I adore Sinister.

He has to be one of my favorite Marvel villains. He's just...so...damn...VILLAIN-Y.

...He currently looks like a goth vampire. Who probably could star in Anne Rice book...

And, wait, YOU'RE calling me on semi-derailing a thread? :woot:
