I've never actually read anything with Monet in it.

In fact, I never really read anything but the main X-Men for years.

I've really gotten in the New X-Men (or...the NEW New X-Men...whatever we're calling it now). I don't know, I just loved the fresh new characters. Eventually you do get tired of the same characters OVER and OVER and OVER and always re-incarnated with SUBTLE differences.

Sometimes a brand new mutant is the way to go.

And on that note...

I want Rogue to die.

Only so that she can come back in some new exciting way unlike any of her previous incarnations.

And so that her character will stop stagnating in the same plotlines over and over AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER...(get the picture?)

Exactly. By mid-Messiah Complex she'll be rising from the "dead" and yelling "I AM MIGHTY, I AM... ROXOR!!!!"

Well, we know Carey's doing SOMETHING with her powers...

He may well go the Ultimate route and have her perma-absorb someone and lose her leech powers.

Her PERMANENTLY (but not quite) absorbing someone for their powers is LAME at this point, though.

Carey's laying the pity angst on so heavy that he could pry get away with it... He'd just come up with new stuff for Rogue to pine about.

It'll get to a point where even the hardcore Rogue fans will start to roll their eyes, I'm sure of it. He's already coming pretty close, and the arc hasn't even really started yet.

But her perm absorbing someone (accidently of course), and having her get pity over it instead of the poor sap in the coma, would be a bit much. Especially after a 3rd (?) time.

It should be 6 different covers, with different positions of her screaming that.

I think the drama in Rogue comes directly from her power. And losing her power is like giving Wolverine wings instead of healing. So, if me, you or anyone just hate Rogue, I think I should go on loving her and those should go on hating her. I wouldn't want her main power to change or fade away.

I wish someone had the guts to have Rogue with only her original power a la Evo Rogue, just toning down the whining a little and dropping the Goth style.
Actually, I'd love a mix of Sexy TAS Rogue with Smart and "original power only" Evo Rogue to appear in any comics, cartoons, whatever...

Or maybe I would just like to see kick-ass TAS Rogue all over again...the amount of whining was just right: not inexistant (impossible for someone with her power) but it never went over her kick-ass moments...Saudade...

Even if he has some kind of "WOWZA" plan up his sleeve, the next person to come along and write would frak it to hell and back. I DO NOT TRUST MARVEL AT ALL.

Which is why I want her to die. That way, we can have some non-angsty Rogue plotlines/Rogue plotlines AT ALL for a few years. Then, when she comes back, it'll be PERFECT.

And yesh...just her original powers or better yet...NO POWERS AT ALL would be great.

Hell, House of M was the perfect storyline to get rid of Rogue's powers once and for all...but do they do it? NOOOOO...they depower a bunch of mutants who neither want it or need it.

You're probably right.

Next issue, Mystique could deny Rogue ever being her daughter, followed by Gambit saying he only was with Rogue out of pity the issue after that, followed by the rest of the X Men kicking her out after that etc. and people would love it.

Good lord, I wouldn't be able to take my favorite characters going through tragedy every month. Theres a point where you just want to see them kick ass.
