Wait, where was there incest in The Lion King? I've seen that movie many times and I don't remember any incest.

Google it. It's a favorite meme for lots of Internettians.

Anyway, back to Wanda:
Olsen's comments make it pretty clear that her origin story is supernatural, that she is, indeed, a witch (burn her! :argh:), and that's great....

....but I wonder what that means for Quicksilver. As a speedster, are his powers somehow magical as well? Will they be tied to Wanda's chaos magic? Or does he get some other origin story to explain his powers?

They could have gotten their powers from the same source, but it simply manifested differently.

I wouldn't look to Olsen's comments as proof of what Wanda will be in the film. She said this is from her looking at comics her friends gave her, and of course the comics have wildly contradictory versions of everything about her and her powers. I don't think she or Whedon have said much about what will be in the script, assuming she's even seen a script yet.

Also, in Ultimates 1 and 2, her powers were based on the traditional comics idea that she can manipulate probability in her favor, with the twist that she needs to think out the probability before she knows how to make something happen. There was a great moment in Ultimates 2 where she tells Loki she's going to "increase the probability of someone showing up to kick your ass," and Thor appears at that exact moment - making you wonder, did Wanda bring him there (explaining this incredibly lucky last-minute rescue) or did she just happen to be really lucky... but isn't being really lucky her power anyway? I'd like to see some ambiguity like that in the movie.

Clint slept with a doombot he thought was Wanda in the comics. Wanda could hook up with Clint I suppose although Renner is 18 years older than her and looks it so it might come across a little creepy.

I would support Wanda and Hawkeye getting together, but I think that Jeremy Renner is too old for Liz Olsen.

Hell, Ward banged May in AOS so it may just be par for the course for SHIELD agents.

Define "too old".

(Jeremy Renner's baby mama is just a few years older than Olsen. Such is common in real life. It's common in the unreal life of movie characters, too.)

Yeah, I don't see Renner/Olsen being anymore strange looking than Bale/Lawrence.

Christian and Jennifer? Did that happen in a movie or real life?

A movie. You know, the one with the bad haircuts set in the 60s that's coming out soon?

I personally don't like renner and Olsen together. I don't like the idea that when a female avenger turns up she's immediately the love interest. Let her be her own character

There was a lot of woodenness going round between the two of them so they had to get rid of some.

Especially when Wanda's iconic relationship is with Vision. Who, despite our fanboy wishes and wants and dreams, isn't anywhere officially close to joining the MCU yet.

Wanda needs to have a relationship with someone in order to defeat the incest rumors.

Once she starts having robot sex, the shock and moral outrage is going to be out in full force anyway. :word:

Same here.

The MCU already has enough bloated romances.

Huh? No? I'm way too confused, lol. Can someone please enlighten me?

I don't mind toning down power levels in general for the MCU, but the basic power set should still be that of 616. The speculation about SW being something of a telepath (or a clairvoyant or something like that) instead of a "hexer"/probability manipulator makes me nervous.

And if yucky/non-yucky on-screen romances are de rigueur, then once again I'd stick to 616 canon and wait for Vision to pop up at some point.
