Apocalypse The Official Sophie Turner/Jean Grey Thread

Sophie Turner is pretty, but I hope nothing from Sansa comes through acting wise. She is great in Game of Thrones, but there's nothing about the way she acts that I want to see as Jean Grey. I hope that's Sansa's fault and not Sophie's.

Jean is my favourite comic book character of all time, so I feel like I'll be critical no matter who is cast. I like her more that Chloe Grace Moretz though.

Overall I'm cautiously optimistic!

Now, I'm curious to see how Singer reconciles his intended take with Jean Grey, and how her backstory and powers are presented in The Last Stand, with this new version of the character.

From what Kinberg said previously, they basically consider DOFP to be carte blanche to ignore anything in the previous movies (up to and including having some characters born earlier).

Sophie and Hailee co-starred in the as-yet-unreleased Barely Lethal and have been hanging out a lot ever since filming, so when I heard they were both considered for this at various stages I found that interesting.

It could be a little awkward having Jackman in scenes with a teenaged Jean.

She is only one of new actors announced i am familar with.I have been advocating her as jean.

Let's look at reaction to competion's choices

despite what some will now claim there was a lot of complants about Scarlett Johansson being cast as black widow.granted a lot of that was because emily Blunt wasn't cast.and a lot weren't jumping for joy on Chris Evans being cast as captain America.

Sophie isn't a famke lookalike but i can easily buy her as younger version of jean famke appeared as at end of DOFP

It's important to remember jean in last stand wasn't what bryan singer had planned.instead of the mental blocks and split personality it was being setup the machine caused jean's powers to expand greatly and she was mutating into higher and more powerful being.so it's up in the air how powerful she will be in apocalypse.

She grows as both an actress and a character. In season 1 I was thinking of ways she should die but now she's one of my favorite characters.

Everyone was pissed at her when she got Ned killed, but that's what the character was supposed to be: young and foolish. Turner captured it extremely well, IMO.
