The Official Star Trek: Voyager thread

I'm starting to watch this show from beginning to end. I'm now 5 episodes in :D

The show didnt really start to pick up till season 3 seasons 1 and 2 was still and adjustment period for both the maquee and starfleet crew because of this some of the characters were still finding their groove, bellana and the doctor were prime examples their characters really grew as the show progressed far more than the other crew mates i think.

Best characters imo are the doctor and seven. Wasn't big on anyone else. Lt. Paris and Neelix really suck

Having finished rewatching all of DS9, I'm now halfway through Voyager. I remembered seeing most of the early seasons episodes on TV when they first aired, but around Season 3 it seems I'm hit and miss as to what I saw before and what I missed. The show got changed up a bit with the addition of Seven and the almost simultaneous exit of Kes in the fourth Season like they did to DS9 with Worf in that fourth season. It's still a good watch, nothing amazing coming off the heels of TNG and DS9, it just might have been a touch too early to launch another OS or TNG format show. It's still much better than what came after.

What made voyager fun was that it was a whole new universe to explore, new aliens and worlds. Voyager did something better than any of the other series, the time traveling episodes are fantastic. Try watching "Year of hell part 1 and 2" and not think its some of the best episodes of any trek series.

I am at season 5 now. I dislike Seven as her 'Am I Human storyarc is too close to the Doctor's for my taste.

Seven is a bit rough at first but her episodes get stronger her constant arguing and disagreeing with janeway is what makes her character compelling shes the only one in the crew whose not afraid to show up to the captain.

Interesting how some episodes had the doctor helping seven with finding her humanity. A hologram teaching a borg very interesting stuff.

I'm currently in the midst of my own (re)watch-through of the show (I'm almost finished with S3's Alter Ego), and am trying to do so in what I believe is the 'proper order' for maximizing the continuity and serialization that is present in it, but keep finding that my analysis of the 'proper order' keeps being superseded either by Stardate placement or in-episode content, which, although embarrassing for me, actually bolsters an argument I've been making :re the series having more continuity and serialization than it is widely perceived to.

The best part of the show was Janeway, she was a magnificent captain up there with the best, she basically held up the show, Katherine rocked this role. Tuvok and the Doctor were basically the same character to me. Most of the characters were either too sterile or nicey-pants. Especially bellana, oh god what a wasted opportunity. If she was a full klingon and acted klingon the show would have had a nice spark and would have been 10x better.

The best character next to the captain was Seven of Nine, not only cause she was awesome, but she had an amazing body. Like goddamn huge chest and plump ass, what more could you ask for? The show as a whole....meh.....Janeway held it up as best she could but the cast besides her and later Seven was horrific.

So what do you think was better, Voyager or Enterprise?

Oh well its not question Voyager is better. Enterprise is the worst series by far. The best Enterprise episode doesn't even come close to the worst TNG or TOS episode.

I've only seen a few episodes of Enterprise, though I've heard that show gets good in the 3rd and 4th seasons. Is that true?

Enterprise got strong around the whole zindi story line i think if the show would have gone a few more seasons it would have really hit it stride. Unfortunately as it is right now it does remain the weakest of the treks series but not a horrible mess as some would call it. Ill say this besides the doctor and the captain the rest of the acting was really bad.

Kinda a nice little tidbit i saw Roxann Dawson (b'lanna) is directing the next episode of shield. Shes been directing for awhile glad to see she still around.

Yes enteprise is defently weak In first 2 seasons but once it got to second season finale It got strong. That begain the xindi storyline. And i enjoyed show from then on till end except for series finale.

DS9 Is my favorate Trek spin-off show and Xindi storyline took me back to
things of DS9 like domonion war. Season 4 becomes what enteprise should have been from begining a true trek prequel.
